If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
Someone I know was leaarning fetal development in med school as I was going through my first trimester and I was told that was the most critical point in brain development. So my vote is no.
I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
yes but they wait until your second trimester if at all possible because the first trimester is the most important for fetal development.
Yes, I've read the same data. Several different articles. I haven't asked my dr either. When I went and got a massage last week my massage therapist said her midwife told her the same thing, one glass a day was okay. I'm still unsure myself. I had a friend who lived overseas and she said the women/people in Europe are more excepting of it. So, talk to your doctor but a few glasses in the third trimester will not have the baby being born with fetal alcohol syndrome.
If you would read on fetal development you would know a fetus stops moving around it's 16th week and won't begin to move till you're in your third trimester.

I had an anti abortion activist explain the theory of the breast cancer link, and I was wondering if you could give me some insight into these claims. They explained the types of lobules and their development. That throughout the first trimester, the number of Type 1 and Type 2 lobules rapidly increase, resulting in the breast having more sites for cancer to start. In the second trimester, the lobules start maturing into Type 4 lobules, which are cancer resistant.
How common it is for early ultrasounds to be off in the first trimester, and how much? Doc wants to do one more checkup. My dates don't work so we've spent the last couple weeks trying to determine how far along I am. If I go by last bleed as LMP, I should be 7 and 2, but yesterday's ultrasound showed the sac measuring 5 and 4, and just a hint of fetal pole. No clear pole or hb yet. have had many ultrasounds and even a fetal MRI done since I last expressed my concerns on this site and am becoming less and less afflicted by worry. The results have been reassuring that her head is still growing (and not stoping or slowing in growth) yet is still on "the small side". It has actually had somewhat of a spurt in growth over the past 3 weeks and is now above the 10th percentile which I feel is a miracle due to my prayer.

m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? The first trimester is very important in fetal development even though u were drinking and smoking there is a chance baby can still be fine I wouldn't worry right now until u talk to doc and they run all the necessary tests at this point what is done is done and all u can do is focus on doing the right thing now best wishes and I hope baby is healthy good luck

Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm
Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok?
The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
They give different dates for when the second trimester begins and for when the third trimester begins. Your health care provider might prefer to use the Development method, while another Midwife or Doctor may use the Gestation method.
I am sure they do that just to confuse pregnant women.
