BUT I am in China where we are not allowed to find out the gender of unborn baby by u/s. You know when I was having u/s. I asked. But the doctor just refused to tell me. Do you know which way can predicte/ find out the sex of unborn baby? Did you ever try anyway to predicte it? How was the result? I heard some ways as 1.checking the shape of gestational sac 2.Chinese lunar calendar 3. the shape of belly But it seems no one is 100% right. Do you guys know any better way to predict?

I can tell you, From experience that a baby's heart is fully developed by week 18, which is why doctors do fetal echos between 18-24 weeks, it's the soonest they can visualize the heart without the bones getting in the way or "shadowing" it, and also the latest for them to detect holes and other issues. There are many cases when a baby has a hole or two early on and as the baby grows and the heart continues to grow the holes close or get smaller on their own.

If I go by my lunar age and month, it was right both times. If I just used my regular age and month it was wrong both times. I used the calendar on baby centers website, it calculates it for you. but it only has a 50% chance of being correct. It's more for fun then anything.

also when you count 4 wks as 1 month your actually referring to a lunar month, technically only 1 month out of 12 is a straight lunar month and that is feb :)

they go by lunar months like most women's cycles. lunar months are 28 days which is four weeks. so divide it by four but just realize that you aren't talking calendar months. and yes, that means you deliver at the end of nine months or start of ten months...you'll be pregnant for nine calendar.

40 weeks equals 9 calendar months (30 & 31 days per month) or 10 lunar months (28 days per month) so really depends what you read and how YOU choose to count pregnancy. Aside from the fact hospitals and doctors use calendar months too, I personally pay no attention to lunar months, I have a normal diary and calendar and that's how I track my pregnancy.

It's definitely better to go by weeks. If people ask just politely tell them weeks is more accurate and how many weeks you are.

There are 7 days in a week. Multiply that by 4 weeks, that's 28 days. Each month has more than 28 days. Being 12 weeks, doesn't make you 3 months. But in reference to the topic, stay rested, and well hydrated! Try to stay off your feet to keep any swelling down, but still find things to do to stay semi active.

there is a certian way to do it, thats why the answers come out different. Its by your LUNAR age, not your current age. And by the LUNAR month. I remember when i concieved my daughter, so i just did it for fun and it was right............ that why you girls get different answers. Its according to lunar age/month.......... when googleing it, make sure you type in ancient chinese calender.......... and read the instructions. Some ppl swear by it..... im not so sure tho..... :) it was right tho!
