I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.

No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. ur probably going to have to just wait for ur appointment. every fetal develolpment is different and it may not be anything at all just cross ur fingers and pray!!

Last week I had my first ultrasound. My HCG had gone from 7500 to 16000 in 48 hours and from my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 6 days, but the u/s showed just a sac, no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat. I was online constantly researching u/s's, fetal development, and what I should have seen (the fetal pole, the yolk sac).

My baby was in the 25 percentile at 36 weeks, she was taken out at 37wks1day and is perfectly fine (was small at birth 5lbs12.5oz) but seems normal otherwise.

I just had my first OB appointment at 7 weeks and there was only a gestational sac and yolk sac, no fetal pole :(.... My doctor thinks I had a missed miscarriage but I've not had any bleeding so I'm still hopeful that my baby is okay. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm 25 weeks and I'm having a boy. Ive been admitted in the hospital on bed rest. My cervix ephased .9 and I'm dilated 2 centimeters. I've been given a fetal lung development shot to help my baby's lungs develop faster. Has anyone been through this too? I'm nervous because I'm high risk for preterm labor. Any advice?

I got a bfp on thursday with beta of 151. I went for my second beta today and it was 695. They scheduled an ultrasound next week and I should be 5 1/2 wks. Would my beta go up if there was not a fetal pole? Also, a little concerned that we won't be able to see a heartbeat.

Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.

Im aldo measuring behind and they are monitoring fetal development.... (I'm 27 werks)... they don't do that for everybody..BUT since this time around I have lakes of blood in my placenta and high blood pressure (both are associated with low birth weight) they want to make sure my baby girl is growing at the rate she should be... ive measured 5 days smaller from the beginning...

I found out I was pregnant on January 22nd with the last missed period of December 24th or so I thought. On January 31st I started spotting brown eventually turned in to red on the 4th or so of February I start to freak out I call my doctors office, they asked me to come in the next day, and they do a pelvic exam everything is fine I do have some bleeding, the cervix is closed all looks well.

It's definitely better to go by weeks. If people ask just politely tell them weeks is more accurate and how many weeks you are.
