I have noticed since I began taking fenofibrate that I experience cloudy urine after I eat certain foods. It only happens the first time I uninate after eating these foods and becomes clear thereafter. It seems that it is triggered with creamy and greasy foods. Is there cause for concern?

Fenofibrate in combination with a Statin drug can cause severe Rhabdomyolysis. I know because I have gone through it. My muscle pain got so severe that I couldn't even move my arms and I wound up in the ER with kidney (also a muscle) pain so severe, I was climbing the walls.
Ever since I started taking Zetia and Fenofibrate together as recommended by my DR, I have put on pounds, am more bloated around the belly,a nd have persistent chest pains. I noticed this has occurred ever since I have been on cholesterol lowering meds, but is more noticeable in the past year with the new combination of drugs. I mentioned this to my DR and he said I need the drugs because of my High Cholesterol. What do you think?
my mother,55y, she got her lab result with rising in cholesterol and triglyceride about 3month ago. she started to take fenofibrate 200mg once a day. and now new lab result show normal range of all types of fat. does she need to continue with a maintenance dose of fenofibrate or it isnt necessary?
doctor has adviced me to take rosuvastatin and fenofibrate tablets.can you please tell me whether it helps to reduce weight?
Your numbers are high, but you need to look at the breakdown. First off, your TGL's should be under 150. Not hard, just cut out the empty carbs like breads, sugars, pastas etc. Also, drinking will elevate your TGL's so don't over do it. You could start on a Fenofibrate like Tricor to lower your TGL's it works well. A statin will not really do that much.
You can google the warnings and side effects of that one. I also take Tricor for my hyperlipidemia. But that is a fenofibrate, not a statin. Have you ever tried the grandfather of statins, Lipitor? Talk to your doctor and get the straight answers.
Exercise will help increase your HDL which should be over 40. Make sure to ask your doctor before starting any exercise. You can also as about a fenofibrate, they are very effective at lowering your TGLs.
Meds I am currently on are levothyroxine and fenofibrate. I was on buspirone but just quit that a few days ago. I did have this happen one other time a few weeks ago, but the second time after that everything was normal, so I wasn't worried. I believe at that time I was off the meds or just starting them.
s are easy to lower, cut back on all sugars, breads, pastas and alcohol, that usually is enough. If not, you can try a Fenofibrate which is a very effective drug.
Hi I was recently prescribed Fenofibrate to help reduce my high cholesterol levels etc... after a blood test.
I have been doing some digging around regarding the drug and it says I should not be taking it if one has Hep B.
I haven't found what the reasons are so I was wondering if someone could elaborate why one should not be taking it if one has Hep B.

I have hypothyroidism,I have high triglycerides 479 & cholesterol level 270.I have been prescribed Fenofibrate 200 mg for triglycerides & Zatofen 1 mg for serum Ige,but these medicines causing too many side effects back pain,knee pain.restless legs & insomnia.Please help.
You could ask your doctor about a fenofibrate like Ticor, they are very effective on serum TGL's and have very few if any side effects.

How are you? Creatinine level is only an 'estimated' test to assess kidney function. Creatinine is a breakdown byproduct of creatine phosphate, which is produced in the muscle at a constant rate. The kidneys are responsible for filtering this byproduct out and excreting it through urine. If the kidney function is compromised, the filtration is affecetd, hence, blood levels rise.
get a folder and paper write down every doc meeting and every blood results for your records, kidney patients only live well and longer if you manage it yourself, consultants aint got time for you, bloods that are useful to jot down regular creatinine, uric acid, gfr, heamoglobin, lipid profile, cholesterol very important, calcium.
Then again in Feb 2012 his TGL was 289.He took medicine fenofibrate for about a month. His TGL in June2012 was 319 and in Dec 2012 was 370. But weight was 66.5kg .He took again fenofibrate for 1.5 months and with diet strictly avoiding sugar and low fat almost fat free .
Now in March2013 the TGL level is down by about 100 points but again in the last 2.5 months there has been weight loss and wt is down to 63.8 ie about 64 kg. Weight reduced by 2 kg in such a short time again. WHY?

my doctor suggested to undergo dialysis an dafter 3 dialysis my potassium level is normal and i have a creatinine level of 3.4 it was maintained the same creatinine for 3 days after stopping dialysis.. so i am worried abt the dialysis and how can i keep myself the creatinine level and the K level low in the blood . any suggestions plz..

Creatinine is a very reliable indicator of kidney function. As the kidneys become impaired the creatinine level in the blood will rise. A person with only one kidney may have a normal level of about 1.8 or 1.9 creatinine level. Abnormally high levels of creatinine thus warn of possible malfunction or failure of the kidneys. Creatinine levels that reach 10.0 or more in adults may indicate the need for a dialysis machine to remove wastes from the blood.
