After 7 years of therapy taking Crestor and Tricor (fenofibrate), I, too, started experiencing intense pain in my legs, feet, back, and arms. My Dr. took me off Crestor last month but the pain returned within a few days, although not as intense as it was prior to my stopping Crestor. I took myself off fenofibrate just a couple of days ago and "Wow" what a difference! I can actually sleep at night and notice that the pain is dissipating more and more each day.
Sideeffects of using fenofibrate are severe stomach pain, muscle weakness, vomiting, fever. Rarely, but it can cause rash, difficulty in breathing which needs immediate attention of the doctor. What kind of foods cause a cloudy urine? Avoid drinking alcohol while taking fenofibrate. Alcohol can raise triglyceride levels, and may also damage your liver while you are taking this medication.
Fenofibrate should not be used in cases of cirrhosis of liver, gall bladder disease and kidney disease.
Ever since I started taking Zetia and Fenofibrate together as recommended by my DR, I have put on pounds, am more bloated around the belly,a nd have persistent chest pains. I noticed this has occurred ever since I have been on cholesterol lowering meds, but is more noticeable in the past year with the new combination of drugs. I mentioned this to my DR and he said I need the drugs because of my High Cholesterol. What do you think?
There is no gracious way to say this, but the doctors prescribing both Tricor along with any type or brand of STATIN are putting their patients at risk.
s going on 2/24/12 I said what do you mean, he says your blood work has a abnormal liver results I said what does it mean, he said are you still taken the lipitor I said yes every night he said have you had any alcohol I said yes 2/20/12 I went out to dinner and had 2_beers and my muscle pain is more server and I have problems sleeping and this headaches I'm having and problems forgetting he 1st said STOP the lipitor then said don't have any alcohol and see me 3months also again he said
The dose is Rosvin F (fenofibrate 145 mg and Rosuvastatin 10 mg) daily one time. Muscle pain and headache is symptoms.
my mother,55y, she got her lab result with rising in cholesterol and triglyceride about 3month ago. she started to take fenofibrate 200mg once a day. and now new lab result show normal range of all types of fat. does she need to continue with a maintenance dose of fenofibrate or it isnt necessary?
s are easy to lower, cut back on all sugars, breads, pastas and alcohol, that usually is enough. If not, you can try a Fenofibrate which is a very effective drug.
Please help me .My Serum Ige level is on the increase from 1150 to 1370 in just 3 weeks.
I have hypothyroidism,I have high triglycerides 479 & cholesterol level 270.I have been prescribed Fenofibrate 200 mg for triglycerides & Zatofen 1 mg for serum Ige,but these medicines causing too many side effects back pain,knee pain.restless legs & insomnia.Please help.

cholesterol : 251.0mg/dl
TGL :264mg/dl HIGH
hdl :62.0mg/dl
ldl :136.20 mg/dl
vldl :52.80 mg/dl
are the levels are normal?
high TGLs are due to family history.any medication necessary ?any suggestions ? iam not on medication except calcium.needs your valuable suggestions for a HEALTHY HEART.

muscle pain, muscle weakness, stomach upset, nausea, headache, and asthenia (general unexplained weakness). These are rare in trials and more common in patient reporting due to a “nocebo” effect. The nocebo effect is part of why you’re asking about side effects: wholly understandable fear of possible if uncertain outcomes. I’m not a doc, but I would rest easy that you are getting good treatment. Self-monitor within reason and report any concerns to your doc.
Now in Aug-Sep2011 for some other complaint (his RA factor was positive) and he used to play vigorous badminton for 2-3 hours daily for around 6months before and there was pain in legs. So for that, his weight got recorded and shockingly it had reduced to 66-67kg. So 5-6 kg weight loss in 2 months ? Or was the 71kg in Jun2011 WRONGLY recorded ? This was very disturbing as he had NEVER lost weight in last 10 yrs.
Then again in Feb 2012 his TGL was 289.
Tricor is a Fenofibrate which helps control cholesterol and TGLS by blocking their abosorbtion into your system through your intestinal tract. There is an extremely and I mean EXTREMELY small chance that Tricor can cause Diabetes, but it is extremely rare. How high was you fasting blood sugar level? What does your doctor say?

You can google the warnings and side effects of that one. I also take Tricor for my hyperlipidemia. But that is a fenofibrate, not a statin. Have you ever tried the grandfather of statins, Lipitor? Talk to your doctor and get the straight answers.
I think it's more of which one your body will tolerate the best. Different brands seem to show different side effects in many people. Lipitor in some women have produced breast pains or enlargement and even the manufacturers cannot explain that one. Still, I suppose it's cheaper than plastic surgery. Some statins cause abdominal pains in some people, or nausea or serious muscle cramps and even damage.
The situation worsened that now whenever i would drink water or any other drink i had to rush to the bathroom after few minutes as urine would feel so much that if i will not urinate i started feeling the pain and burning and irritation around the pubic area and around hips. After pee i will feel relief.
I am almost convinced that it is all about inflamation and that if I take garlic, turmeric, blueberries, bromelain and quercetin and aspirin, I might be just as well off and without pain. Have the $5 copay card on Repatha (wife is on too and has no problems and had less but still too many problems on statins) but we go on medicare in a year and then the $5 copay card turns into $150-$400 per month.
Meds I am currently on are levothyroxine and fenofibrate. I was on buspirone but just quit that a few days ago. I did have this happen one other time a few weeks ago, but the second time after that everything was normal, so I wasn't worried. I believe at that time I was off the meds or just starting them.
