If you are not planning to do IVF, then immediate ovulation induction/IUI after surgery is probably better before the endometriosis returns. I think Femara is a great choice for ovulation induction for women with endometriosis. Of course, you should discuss this with your own infertility doctor.

I think it's because Femara has technically not been approved for ovulation induction. It's only approved by the FDA for cancer treatment. But I agree with you!

For induction of ovulation, drugs like clomiphene and femara can be used. If these do not help then gonadotropins can be used. Consult an infertility expert for an opinion. This is only a concern if you take femara WHILE already pregnant. And in ovulation induction you would of course only be using it before ovulation.

I took my last Femara pill on October 18. I bought some ovulation predictor tests from the Dollar Tree and took the first on October 20th. I was positive but I wondered if the Femara caused a false positive so I took another the next day and it was negative. I tested today and there was one line but it was so faint I could barely see it. Should I have gone with another brand?

I have a cyst on my ovary and dont have regular periods I have took provera for a period and clomid for ovulation. .

Thanks, so its just a stronger form of ovulation induction (like clomid or femara). My RE mentioned that if we didnt' get a BFP within two cycles of our plan, then we would move onto stronger ovulation inductors that would most likely release more than one or two eggs (he didn't want to start there due to my age and risk of multiples - i'm 27 so I guess thats a higher risk for multiples). so we'll see! I don't think that would have been too soon. The sperm should be able to survive for a few days. I also took Femara for the first time this cycle on days 3-7. I didn't know what to expect either since I O'd late with Clomid, so I used OPK's and temps and appeared to have ovulated cd12. I am now 12 dpo and holding out hope, even though I've felt like AF is coming soon.

I am just going to try Femara and timed intercourse for a while. I will start checking for ovulation tomorrow..cd10. I hope those little sticks dont get me all confused. I have heard some girls say they never see the lines the same color and end up missing the boat! If your ovulation is normal why is the doctor recommending Clomid? Usually it is recommended for ovulation problems. It can lower estrogen level, reduce your CM, thin your endometrial lining and cause your ovulation time to shift in your cycle. It also increases the risk of multiple births. My doctor wants me to start it if I don't ovulate on my own this month, but I have amenorrhea due to anovulation, so it is probably required for me to conceive.

However if your periods are regular even without femara, then your chances of getting pregnant might be improved if intrauterine insemination is added to your treatment. Regarding urine ovulation prediction, if the femara is going to work to get you to ovulate, your ovulation is most likely to happen 7-10 days after your last femara.

Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

I took Femara this cycle and will be doing a single IUI probably within the next 4-5 days. I had a sort of of odd cycle last month (w/Femara but no IUI), where I spotted for 3-4 days before any real flow. I ovulated on cd15 and had a 30 day cycle if you don't count the spotting (usually its no more than 28 days). My RE says to start using OPKs on cd 11, but I'm concerned I should start earlier. Could I have miscounted and in fact the day I think was cd1 was actually a bit later?

I have used the ovulation sticks for the past 2 cycles and tested for 2 straight weeks each cycle without any positives for ovulation. As it stands now, my period was due 02/16 and is still m.i.a. She has done a TSH blood test and prolactin test which I am waiting for the results for. Any further information or advice would be greatly appreciated. She said that if my levels were normal, the next step would be to check for tubal blockage and then possibly do an induction??

5mg x2 daily today and will continue it until CD7. they sad i should start testing for ovulation starting day 10. and they told me to BD on day 10,12,14,16,18. or when i get my positive opk that day and every other day for a week. This is all new any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I have taken femara and am now on my 6th month. It actually pushed ovulation out for me, from day 14 to 16 or 17. I have not tried the OPK's though. I went by temperature charts and it was very apparent in my case. We are in the 14th month of ttc. I wish you the best of luck!

I am on 1st round of Femara, too. Today is cd21 for me and opk is finally getting close to positive. This is a long wait to o for me. On Clomid, I o'd between cd9 & 12. Oh well, hopefully the wait is worth it. I may be delayed from the cyst I had from the Clomid. It finally dissolved. Good luck!

Results are...I am pregnant. I tried femara for 8 of my 12 months not one side effect until the last time which turned out to be the golden ticket...I had joint and lower back pain, it hurt to walk and I felt immense pain. My RE said it had nothing to do with femara but the moment I started until 4 or 5 days later until the pills were done I had pain. The next day miraculously I was fine, no more pain. This was my experience.

I tested cd 13 and cd 14 it doesn't show ovulation ,do you think I am going to have ovulation ?? I'm very worry ,I stop my bd and waite for ovulation because I want the count of sperm be high ? because always I had a regular cycle and my ovulation was cd 12-13 even when I used clomid for 2 months. is it normal and healthy if my ovulation happen cd 15 or 16 or not??? thanks for supporting me.

My Dr put me on Femara for the 3-7 day of AF . Was wondering if anyone has taken this drug and how long did it take to get pregnant?
