femara and ovulation induction

Why do REs start with Clomid and not Femara? We all know that Clomid causes CM dryness and cysts.. then y do REs not start with Femara from the first time itself??? This Q has been bothering me since long.. Anyone knows???

I have CD 13 follicle scans. Friday was my CD 13 scan and it showed two follicles one on each ovary. Not sure of sizes. I have been using ovulation test since my scan.

If you are not planning to do IVF, then immediate ovulation induction/IUI after surgery is probably better before the endometriosis returns. I think Femara is a great choice for ovulation induction for women with endometriosis. Of course, you should discuss this with your own infertility doctor.

For induction of ovulation, drugs like clomiphene and femara can be used. If these do not help then gonadotropins can be used. Consult an infertility expert for an opinion. If you were my patient, I would consider ovulation induction once we knew whether or not you have endometriosis. Endometriosis can be worsened(or improved) by hormonal manipulation. I would start with a medication such as Clomid or Femara. Good luck!

This is only a concern if you take femara WHILE already pregnant. And in ovulation induction you would of course only be using it before ovulation.

What cycle day are you today? And what cycle days did you take femara? As far as I know, femara does not cause a false positive...especially not two days after the last pill.

I have a cyst on my ovary and dont have regular periods I have took provera for a period and clomid for ovulation. .

I tested cd 13 and cd 14 it doesn't show ovulation ,do you think I am going to have ovulation ?? I'm very worry ,I stop my bd and waite for ovulation because I want the count of sperm be high ? because always I had a regular cycle and my ovulation was cd 12-13 even when I used clomid for 2 months. is it normal and healthy if my ovulation happen cd 15 or 16 or not??? thanks for supporting me.

But instead he is switching my hormone completely to Gonal-F which brings my FSH where my LH is and gives me a normal cycle. Clomid would induce ovulation but not till cd17-21 and that is just too late he said. Sounds as if either your eggs aren't mature and that is why you are miscarrying or maybe low progesterine and not enough for the baby after implatation?? Im not no dr by any means though!

I get irregular AFs too. My AFs don't come but once a year if I'm lucky. I have been on Provera every other month and did about 4 rounds of Clomid with serious side effects and failed to work. Took a break from fertility drugs. Started Provera up again the last week of July and did Femara from cd3-7 and got a positive OPK on cd 8 and 9, and O'ed on cd 10. First time I O'ed in a long time. Every women is different. Do you also check your cervix?

Thanks, so its just a stronger form of ovulation induction (like clomid or femara). My RE mentioned that if we didnt' get a BFP within two cycles of our plan, then we would move onto stronger ovulation inductors that would most likely release more than one or two eggs (he didn't want to start there due to my age and risk of multiples - i'm 27 so I guess thats a higher risk for multiples). so we'll see! today is cd 18 and i just went and had my bw done yesterday to check my progesterone and so now i am just waiting for the results, i hope its good news. and i did use my preseed. and fermara wasnt to bad to me, my dr told me it has a better success rate then clomid, but everyone responds to meds differently, so i hope it works for me, i am really hoping.

On the first try of iui with donor, they did it without femara and the trigger shot. But they informed me that they missed my ovulation and decided to put me on femara and on the trigger to avoid missing it again/ and having a better control of it. On the second try of iui +donor+femara+trigger shot: they informed that I might ovulated before the trigger shot because they notice that the follicules were too big .

I am on month 2 but I wasn't checked on cycle day 21 last month to make sure I ovulated. I'm not sure if I did or not. This month I will be tested. I had few side affects while taking it last month, but post ovulation (if the opk was correct) I cramped a lot 5 days post ovulation and my period cramps were awful too. Anyways I'm taking it days 3-7 and hoping this month it works. I ovulated (again if kit was right) day 11.

This is my first time on here so I hope this works. This is my first month doing the ovidrel and femara together so I don't know what to expect. I have done the femara alone and have also done the clomid, but the shot is all very new to me. I have another u/s tomorrow to make sure I can have the ovidrel. However if your periods are regular even without femara, then your chances of getting pregnant might be improved if intrauterine insemination is added to your treatment. Have headaches in the evening usually on CD17 and CD18 and a bloated feeling most of teh days , have observed this in the last few cycles. Is this common with Femara or Progesterone. A bit worried bcos, I also have PCOS and with the weight increase it might hamper my chances of conception. Any advise anyone ?

last month was my first month and femara. I had the same spotting, and my cycle was also 30 days. (usually mine is 35 though, so 30 was better for me). . . the spotting bothered me too, I kept hoping that it was implantation bleeding. But no, finally af came full force. This is my second month on it. I o'd the same day this day as last month, so expect the cycle will be 30 days again. Good luck with your IUI!!

I am 29 and we've been TTC for 3 years now without any positive results (no miscarriages either though). I took 6 rounds of Clomid (3 at 50 mg & 3 at 100mg) and nothing. I am seeing a fertility specialist now and this is my first month taking Femara at 5 mg and we'll combine it with IUI as soon as get positive ovulation.

I started spotting April 14th (day 2 after 5th day of femara) til 16th. Heavy period 17th and 18th. Medium on 19th and light on the 20th. Spotting a bit today. I did take an ovulation test tonight...faint line which is still considered negative. A little confused when I should expect that ovulation. Any ideas?

I am still secreting milk, and I have been having very bad headaches. I have used the ovulation sticks for the past 2 cycles and tested for 2 straight weeks each cycle without any positives for ovulation. As it stands now, my period was due 02/16 and is still m.i.a. She has done a TSH blood test and prolactin test which I am waiting for the results for. Any further information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ok so today is CD3 and i started taking femara 2.5mg x2 daily today and will continue it until CD7. they sad i should start testing for ovulation starting day 10. and they told me to BD on day 10,12,14,16,18. or when i get my positive opk that day and every other day for a week. This is all new any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking the same thing about endo and Femara. I'm on Femara and had endo, so I'm crossing my fingers that your theory is right!!
