1183666 tn?1274275146 So, JESSiCA, we meet again! I'm glad to hear you're involved with a partner and a project, but I do understand your fear of public speaking. I'm positive the vast majority of us would rather streak through Wal Mart than get up in front of a group of people. (Would anybody notice us in Wal Mart? Somehow I think we'd just "blend!") I suppose there are a number of things you could try before it was your turn to be on stage.
Avatar f tn I hope I'm home in my room or something if it breaks that way I will know and won't have to have someone else clean it up lol. Every time me and my husband go anywhere public he's like "what if your water breaks here" it makes me nervous the rest of the time we are out lol.
Avatar f tn Fear of heights in all its forms is, I believe, the 2d most common phobia (the first is fear of speaking in public, officially, but I'm guessing more people confront heights than the need to speak in public so I'm guessing heights might be the most common fear). I have this phobia, but didn't have it until I got a full-blown anxiety disorder. If this is your only phobia, good; if you have several and are anxious about a lot of things, harder.
Avatar f tn I'm in therapy I still have these thoughts I don't understand I was so normal a year ago. I did extreme sports all the time wasn't afraid of public. Now I'm afraid of a lot of things.
Avatar f tn You are both suffering from a very common phobia. Fear of the dark goes back to the dawn of man and since that time, millions of people have fought it all there lives. Please do not berate yourselves for this phobia or think you are silly for being afraid of the dark at your age. Our phobias are ours to own and suffer with as long as we do nothing about them. Since both of you have stated that your phobia is now interfering with your lives, it's time to take the bull by the horns!
6801259 tn?1385008504 There are many out there and they all have different side effects. One particularly nasty one for most of them is that they make the anxiety worse in the beginning until about 4 to 6 weeks later when they are fully working. That anxiety subsides and you would feel so much better. The medications allow us to think the thought (which even "normal" people do) and let it go.
595125 tn?1219834270 What you descrive is a panic attack when you have this intense fear, then you become afraid of the fear and so on until it becomes a vicious circle. You came to the right place! You should browze a lot of these threads as you will quickly see that you are not alone in your fear and anxiety and you will perhaps learn from how others have coped with it.
Avatar m tn Norco I use to love Public speaking because it scared the **** out of me, gave me that fear buzz, loved being afraid ( weird ) Then with Mr Norco no fear whatsoever, wasn't as much fun. Now I'm just unsure and uncomfortable, no self confidence. This time the fear is not fun. I guess I'm just a Day 18 recovering addict, asking for help once again.... Don't think I'll put the pills in my pocket tonight.. But then again I might still need that out....
Avatar f tn Then he put on a condom, before he could get the head of his penis good inside of me i asked him to stop. The next day i asked my did he have anything and he got very offended. He stoppd speaking tp me.. 3 weeks later i got tested for STD and everything came back clear, On April 15,2010 I went to my doctors and got HIV tested, becasue o was always nasuse, tired, and forgetfull. Nothing came back, now i have lower abdominal pains and jus now ive been having what i think are night seats.
Avatar m tn However, it has shifted to HIV fear. Whenever I go out of home, I feel I will not come home without catching it. I worry if there are needles whenever I am shopping and the person who recently put the bag on the surface might have pricked himself and well ... no need to mention, is there? I've consulted my best choice option--my mother--and she says that she has taken every possible measurement to help us( me and my brother) lead a very old age.(VERY FUNNY; I KNOW THAT).
Avatar f tn After I put him in big school at junior kg level, school started building up pressure about alphbets as they were going to start with vowels and then two letter words , they finished three letter words and numbers till 50 and number names till 10. OMG and they have greater number smaller number and all other studies tooooooo . Today my son rejects to know and recognise any number and recognises only A and B. He is already going through Occupatinal therapy for ADHD found at moderate level.
Avatar f tn hii!! This sounds weird. I have this extreme fear of catching HIV. Sometimes my mind build up stories as to how I would have contracted it. I am not engaged at all in any risky activities. The fear arises from unusual situations. Latest is I fear that I would have drank or washed my eyes with toilet bowl water. The toilet is used only by me and my husband only very few times some friends may have used it. My concern is whether the toilet bowl water has HIV in it?
Avatar m tn HIV is neither "dead" nor "alive". It is either active (when it is INSIDE the body), or INACTIVE (when it is outside of the body, exposed to the elements). Sexually speaking, only unprotected anal or vaginal sex is a risk for HIV. Exposure to genital secretions in any situation NOT during the above mentioned insertive sex without a condom is NOT a risk for HIV. That includes oral sex, mutual mastrubation, frottage (rubbing), etc. You have nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn Do you have a close relationship with your mom? I totally understand your fear of causing trouble for your family. However, this not on you. Its on him. He is the one ruining your family, he decided to this the moment he harbored those perverted thoughts. You are PROTECTING your family by speaking up. The longer you wait, the more the fear will soak in until you begin feeling like its too late. I KNOW THIS! Please keep us updated!
Avatar n tn Your story sounds like that of so many others. Anxiety surrounding heart health is one of THE most common health worries in people with anxiety. You say you have a long history of anxiety. What have you done to address it? Ever try medications? Therapy? You need to start somewhere...you don't have to suffer needlessly like you are. There are a LOT of different approaches to treating anxiety, you will find one that is right for you. First thing is first...if you haven't already.

Avatar f tn Public speaking is scary to most people, in fact it's one of the biggest fears many have. People who do public speaking as a career can still get very nervous, performers, rock stars all talk of being terrified before doing a show. One thing to always remember is that many are envious that you are able to get up there and speak, and they are glad it's not them. So, if you mess up a time or two they understand.
Avatar n tn Urophobia is one of many nasty little irrational fears that have been plaguing people ever since black cats crossed paths, the number 13 was invented and salt was spilled. You can scan the internet and find all kinds of suggestions, some such as: Golden Fountain: The Complete Guide to Urine Therapy are even cleverly named. The best advice (mine is always best) is to seek treatment from a psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn t tell us what the number of the CA was, up to 35 is considered normal, and there can be other reasons for a high CA125. Why don't you call him and talk it over with him.
2010625 tn?1329372056 t Facts until you can get in with a doctor, there is tremendous help for living without that feeling. This could be a number of things, all of which will pass when you get some help: anxiety, its cousin depression, panic disorder, etc. Please reach out to friends right now and get that appt.! No need to live one more day needlessly feeling this awful. [of course if you feel worse before your appointment or think you might want to hurt yourself please call 911 immediately].
Avatar m tn Many people have this fear but it stems usually from a fear of a particular disease or diseases. What particular disease(s) are you worried about? Also, what specifically happens...panic attack, irrational thinking? Is it only when you are in a doctor's office or do you have other irrational fears as well outside of the syringe/sharps container environment?
