Anxiety can manifest itself in certain ways, in my opinion. Yours is your
fear of cancer. My original source
of anxiety started with my heart, but if I thought I had something, then I had it. You name it, I must have been suffering from it...it is a hard pattern of thinking to get out of sometimes.
Throughout all of this, have you had access to a therapist to talk this over? In my opinion, the best thing you can do to get over this is accept it and confront it.
