Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn s important to notify your doc about it - depending on how high your fever is, they may ask you to remove the patch tmeporarily - for the same reason as avoiding other heat sources - too much medication can be released. When I was using the patch (I had to stop it due to negative side effects), one time I had a fever of 103.6 from strep throat and my doc had me remove the patch until my fever was below 100 (and use my BT meds during that time).
230948 tn?1235844329 I realized these were all side effects of this patch. The side effects of the patch so adversely effected my life I decided to take it off one night. I went through a detox like you'd never imagine. I had hallucinations, vomitting etc. I had no idea what I had done. I put the patch back on, and weened myself off of it over the next two weeks. I just couldn't live that way. I know how much it helps and would never tell anyone not to use. I may need it in the future.
Avatar f tn Ive had 4 epidurals and just like anything there are potential side effects which is why they make you sign the form prior. But my first was 14 years ago and I've never had a single side effect.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.
Avatar f tn I would make sure he isnt going to get another set of side effects from the new Meds.. You can google for side effects of the new ones he will be taking, Does he work with any Toxins ? You have my sympathy , its not easy is it, I hope he feels better soon.
909257 tn?1242668182 Pain medications have numerous side effects and those who do take pain meds on a regular basis do usually have some kind of depression due to the fact that they do have chronic pain but as far as the meds causing depression or bipolar no I do not believe so.
899491 tn?1243773627 I know Abilify like all antipsychotics can cause anti-cholinergic side effects (although less so then other antipsychotics) which include dry mouth and urinary retention. Sometimes some of the side effect pills used to treat the motor restlessness from it such as the anti-cholinergics (Cogentin, Artane, etc.) can make that worse. That might be one cause but generally its not so severe. Your psychiatrist should be able to explain what happened though.

Avatar m tn My wife seems to be experiencing some severe headaches as a result from the lp procedure which was admin 40 hours ago, her head hurt to begin with 8/10 then 10/10 (pain scale) immediately afterwards when we were attempting to leave the er, resulting in her being admitted. Tomorrow she's scheduled for a patch to help in case there's a leak but I'm thinking she should give it at least a week or two??
Avatar f tn I took 25 mg 3 days in a row. I decided not to take it anymore. I am hoping that the side effects will go away very quickly. I have a 5-year old and a 6-week old and can't afford to spend a couple of weeks feeling like this.My doctor prescribed some Xanax to "take the edge off" which does help. My main question is: How quickly will the side effects go away after me taking it only 3 days?
631676 tn?1333718203 I never had side effects from follistim, but when I took clomid I felt a bit emotional and sometimes I'd get a hot flash.
Avatar f tn I have tried to explain to you the side effects in your last 2 posts. They will go away. If you are that worried about the patch then maybe the patch isn't for you.....The more you over-react the worse you will make yourself feel. The patch your on is a VERY low dose. ...............You may feel a tiny bit nauseated but NOTHING to worry about.
Avatar f tn t put up with terrible side effects for very long. I did that when I tried a new medication in January and I had extreme side effects. They weren't just annoying; they were scary. But every time I called the NP, she'd tell me it can take up to two weeks to metabolize in your body. On day 11 I finally told her I couldn't take it for another minute. She gave me another medication but it still took about a week for all the side effects to subside.
Avatar f tn For all those out there who have had post lumbar puncture headaches and other symptoms and side effects that comes with it, have your headaches ever gone past 3 months and have they completely gone away? Same with the nausea and tinnitus...those who have experienced these symptoms beyond 3 months, have they ever gone away for you? I'm just afraid that all these symptoms are here to stay and I can't imagine living the rest of my life with them!
767538 tn?1276575320 Just in case you didn't notice (I miss it all the time,) this post is really old. If you have questions about the patch, you may do better to post your own question on it. I will say I have not had any side effects from the patch but I didn't have the same side effects to the other meds you did. (I did have that itching from Vicodin and was told to never take it again. Morphine also didn't work for me due to side effects other than itching.
