exelon

Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar f tn Do I slowly have to get off my oxyneo before I get the patch. Also do you find the patch works better then oxyneo and percs.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar f tn You may be a good canidate for the fentynal pain patch. I've heard so many people have good pain management with them. I don't know if you would go through withdrawals. I've have not experience withdrawals yet, so I don't know what it is like. I haven't had a med switch yet. They've only increased my doses, which is hard for my body to adjust as I'm so sensitive to medications. Pain medicine makes me feel so ill, but it does help take the edge off of the pain.
2107861 tn?1346470646 The Oxycotin use to work well for me but now they hurt my stomach so the doctor is wanted to take me off the Oxycotin and put me on a patch when I am due for my meds again. My question is does anyone if this is the right thing to do? If anyone has ever used these patches please reply with your pros and cons and any other info you may have. Also I have a 8 year old daughter and and a 2 year old chihuahua I worry about it falling off and them touching it!!!!
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
17277382 tn?1455209810 Otherwise, the patch is ok, and many find it to be a miracle. Personally, I have found it no better or worse than oxys.
Avatar n tn The doctor to me in case and the today this saturday 2 days after i took the medication i ejaculated and wondering if the rocephin shot and doxy still work sinse i ejaculated
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
Avatar f tn All of these medications are for pain but they are different. I'm sorry you had such a hard time with the patch. That does not mean you will go through the same thing with your current meds or future meds. When it's time to go off of them your Dr will be, or should be there to help you with a taper plan. Are you saying that your current medications are no longer working as well as they did before?
Avatar f tn The way the patch is designed is that the medication is release by your body heat and therefore it would make sense that if that body heat is not there, then the medication would not be released. HOWEVER, I'm also wondering if maybe since the patch had been attached to the body and then removed, it the "pores" of the patch are now more open (from having that body heat) and therefore, a small amount may be released.
Avatar m tn re experiencing. Since you are opiate tolerant, I would suggest the Fentanyl Patch. This Patch gives you around the clock pain relief and is strong enough to keep intense pain at bay. What I like about the Patch is that it doesn't give you the euphoric, lightheadedness all day long. It goes into the system slow enough that you really can't tell you are taking an opiate and at the same time it works wonders on severe pain. Go figure! It does take some time to adjust to though.
648944 tn?1241469694 ve needed an increase like I did, the Doc put me on a 72hr pain patch that works around the clock. This medication has done wonders for my pain and has let me live my life again. It is one of the strongest meds on the market (80X that of Morphine) and you might want to consider it if you are not getting good relief from your current meds. I would urge you to talk with your Doc about the patch if you haven't already done so. It might really help you.
464219 tn?1206800222 t hear about a lot about the usage of the Morphine Patch. The Fentanyl Patch appears to be more commonly prescribed which is not morphine. It is 100 times more potent than Morphine. In my opinion I would certainly give them a try. The Morphine should cover for the former amount of Hydrocodone you were taking. Indeed it should be more effective. Physicians look kinder upon patients that are compliant with their wishes.
Avatar f tn I have been on the patch at a dose ranging from 50 to 75mcg moving the dose up and down according to how much pain I was in at the time since 2006. I think it is great for me. I went on the patch because my rheumatologist had me on 450 mg of lyrica a day which pretty much turned me into a drooling blob. My job reqired a lot of concentration brain skills and so i couldn't do my job as a drooling blob. So, I went to a pain management doctor and told her my predicament. she gave me the patch.
Avatar n tn I know pain mgt docs often perscribe methadone and oxy together I believe to help offset the addiction-methadone is essentially a medication used to help stop withdrawls from heroin but has pain-relieving proerties to it.Supposedly without the "high" (although there are plenty here that will attest otherwise). Not sure if this answered your question?Do a little research on the health pages as well as read some of the other posts...there is much to be learned hre so stay with us!
Avatar n tn Thank you. I notice you are in Cleveland and have a question regarding Mom. She has been treated for the last few years for Alzheimer's with an Exelon patch. I am not sure why she isn't on any other therapy but this is what her family doc has her on. She has not been "formaly" diagnosed however, the stress of the situation with dad has sent her downward very quickly. Unfortunetly without him, her anchor, her condition has become severe.
Avatar f tn Hi Tina, Long acting(LA) narcotics like the patch or an oral medication are intended for longer term use than short acting medication. A DR genrally will not use extended release if you dont need 24 hour support for an extended period. LA narcotics are made without acetomenophine(apap) for that reason. So your body isnt recieving a continual dose of apap for an extended amount of time. But as for whether it is safe for your body or not, thats something only your DR can tell you.
Avatar f tn There are also two different types of patches - one that has a gel reservoir where the medication is and the other is a non-gel reservoir type where (I believe, not 100% sure because I was on the reservoir type) the medication is in the adhesive on the patch. Depending on which kind you have, your options for helping the patch stick may vary.
890900 tn?1284577303 t do anything different until you know how you are going to react to the patch. This is the case with any pain medication. Give yourself a few days to see how your body reacts to it. To make sure you aren't allergic or that it's not too much medication. If you over do it by working out and happen to pass out they won't know if it was from the patch or exercise. So take it easy for a bit. If you have a patch for pain you should be any way.
