Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.

She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Recently, she started back on the lower dose of Razadyne. Her neurologist doesn't think the medicine is the cause of the nausea, though it could be aggrivating whatever is causing it.

Avatar f tn Some programs cover the cost of the meds 100% and others off a significant discount. I suggest you contact the manufacturer of teh patch that you are using (will be on the box) IMMEDIATELY and ask them about any such programs they may have. Depending on how long you've been on the patch, going from 50mcg to 0 could be VERY difficult. I don't recommend going cold turkey if at all possible.
1301089 tn?1290666571 While I was on the patch, I was advised to flush my used patches down the toilet by not only my doctor but also the manufacturer. I did this for a while. Then my local newspaper published a report about pain medications in the water supply. So I started wrapping them in something and walking them to the outside trash can. So what do you do with your patches?
Avatar n tn I have been on the Mylan Brand patch now for 7 years, just recently changed to the Johnson&johnson brand due to having no insurance, because the Mylan were $270 per month and the J&J are at no cost to me. I'm having a hard time finding this brand in any drug store in my area. I live in Southern Maine, South Berwick, Maine to be exact. Do you know what pharmacies in my area have this brand of Fentalyn Tr. P 75 mcg? Thank you, M.
725248 tn?1316162245 t have a problem with sweating and my patch coming off, FORTUNATELY!! So I have not had to worry about my patch once it is on. Duragesic makes an Occlusive Overlay that you put over the patch. It's free, from what I understand from the Manufacturer IF you are wearing the Name Brand Path with the gel in it. One of the VERY best things that yo can do is to go to your Pharmacist and explain your problem and they will let you know what is best for your patches.
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
648944 tn?1241469694 I am glad they were able to help you. There are several manufacturer of the Fentanyl Transdermal Pain Patch. They are made a bit different from one manufacturer to another. Do your research and find the one that you will be the most comfortable taking. There have been some recalls and concerns with some of them.. There have been issues with leaked causing overdoses and some have been fatal. I would discuss this with my physician and/or pharmacist to determine which one will be right for you.
Avatar f tn I am on fentanyl 75 mg patch xanax 2 three times a day and percocet. My patch burst and I dont know if I should put on another or not I just started these.
Avatar m tn I have 3 of the patches left and need to know what to do to wean off and then stop them completely. I cut one in half to make a 25 mcg patch and was fine for a day and a half then the withdrawal came on super strong. The one i have on now is 3/4 of a 50 mcg patch and i have felt ok until last nite when i started withdrawing again. Couldnt sit still, could sleep, felt nauseas, so i stuck the other 1/4 patch on.
Avatar n tn It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
Avatar f tn I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have recently started the patch and have found a difference between effectiveness of the two brands TEVA and MYLAN. First I had Teva 12mcg/72hrs (twice) then 2X 12mcg/72 (twice) and then went to 50mcg patches on the 72hr interval, so far twice. The 25mcg patches are Mylan brand and I noticed, pretty quickly, a decrease in effectiveness. Has anyone else? My pharmacy says I can specify... otherwise the script will be filled with Mylan.
Avatar f tn Each time I went to get the prescriptions filled I was told that they were out of it and it was on back order due to some problem with the manufacturer. I went to 3 different pharmacies and got the same story. Is there something I should know here? Also both prescriptions were subsituted with Hydrocodone which contain acetaminophen. Due to my condition I am not supposed to take anything containing acetaminophen. Is there a viable subsitute that I can take?
725248 tn?1316162245 I was allergic, severely to the adhesive that is used to keep the patch in place. The pain relief was ok but I just couldn't wear it look enough to determine it it was going to be effective. I know we have members that have been on the patch for years and swear it is better than sliced bread. Most have reported that the side effects diminish as their system adjust to the opiate. Sorry this is all I can offer.
Avatar f tn If you will go to the FDA web site you can get all 18 of the lot numbers. I believe the manufacturer is Activis BUT I'm not positive about the spelling so PLEASE go and check. Thanks again Gemini!!!........
Avatar n tn The only help I have found was researching and purchasing shoes that do not contain any Mercapto products. I found out through patch and scratch testing via a dermatologist that I am allergic to latex and MercaptoBenzylThiazole or MBT. This, sadly, is a difficuly process as the chemicals are used in the tanning process of leather and in a lot of adhesives used in the shoe making process. I have treid vegan shoes and thanks to latex issues, they didn't work for me.
1390350 tn?1279902967 I have been on 75 mcg Fentanyal for 15 years. Since they changed the patch to the new one, I feel it hasn't been helping me like the old gel ones. Mostly, the darn thing just does not stick at all. I have tried to get the sticky pads to go over them or they just fall off in a few minutes. I have dogs and little grandbabies in the house and they fall off and you don't know. The dog got one once. Saved her just in time. Anyway.
Avatar f tn I am glad your getting some relief from the patch and not feeling so out of it. The patch has problems staying on according to everyone I have heard that uses it. One of our members and CLs in another group suggest a transdermal patch which they make in a sports formula and she says it stays put! I am sure she will be on soon and will tell you more about it. I have never tried the patch though I hear it doe provide relief for alot of CP sufferers.
