So, although I fully understand your reasons for wanting to keep Dresden at home and give the SubQs, that will not necessarily help Dresden in the short term. SubQs take a good deal longer to have an effect, whereas IV Fluids should take only a few days to have a significant effect - and you can then follow on with SubQs after the IC course. IV Fluids are the best way of getting the blood values down, fast.
Did the vet perform a blood pressure check on Dresden?

t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon.
My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.
My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?

I was wondering if anyone in this world would be able to offer any suggestions to me. I lost my sense of smell due to cocaine use. It's like im missing a layer of skin in my nose now. No holes in my septum. I have been to a few doctors who informed me I have nerve damage in the nerves responsible for smell. Life is so terrible without smell. Does anyone have any suggestions or referrals available ?

Never had a problem until now. He started with temp memory loss and the doctor put him on 2 Exelon Patches per day to help him with the memory loss and also he now on Oxcarbazepine 300 mg. My question is with him taking these two type of medications he is still having seizure and cant sleep. Me as a mother do know what to think and do to help him. Can someone help me with this.

It would be helpful if the Exelon Patch advertisers didn't feel it was necessary to have their information on continual scroll. There is a reason why I don't read rolling credits at the end of a movie, too. They usually roll too fast to read and simply hurt my head and can trigger migraines. Most of the time I don't see rolling adds, but when I do, I'm put off. Uh...I did not search for anything that would have had anything to do with this particular advertiser.
I feel at such a loss in trying to help my Mother. I've gone back to Neurologist and am awaiting his advise, but he doesn't appear to be emphathetic to this issue. Her GP defers to the neurologist. My 81 yr old Mother in middle to late stage Alzheimer's. She is not on any anti-anxiety med except for Paxil which was prescribed about a month ago. She gets aggitated during the day at times and especially sundowners time.
Thank you. I notice you are in Cleveland and have a question regarding Mom. She has been treated for the last few years for Alzheimer's with an Exelon patch. I am not sure why she isn't on any other therapy but this is what her family doc has her on. She has not been "formaly" diagnosed however, the stress of the situation with dad has sent her downward very quickly. Unfortunetly without him, her anchor, her condition has become severe.

Note: Very interesting section on cognitive issues is found about half way down, well worth reading for tips and tricks, medications etc.
I agree with Pooh's advice and I used the same meds for my rash (pics on my profile where you can see the effects of the meds). One member, Dresden O, the original poster in Pooh's link, admitted himself to the hospital due to his severe rash. You're right in resolving not to give up so just be highly proactive in getting the rash under control.
