BACKGROUND/AIMS: Current therapies for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) do not achieve sustained viral clearance in most patients, and are associated with severe toxic effects. Our aim was to investigate the efficacy and safety of etanercept as adjuvant to interferon and ribavirin in treatment-naive patients with HCV.
Can a perispinal etanercept injection help heal severe pain linked to the piriformous muscle?
Can anyone tell me if peri spinal etanercept works ? I have had four back surgeries since 2000. The last two were for decompression of the L-4, L-5 and S-1 nerve roots. My third surgery was performed in January 2011 and the last one in July 2012. I am still having pain around my right hip, left calf , left ankle and left foot. MRI and CT Myloegram do not show anything. Help !
Understand your predicament. As suggested tuberculosis is usually a chronic disease. Here the PPD is positive. This is correlated with clinical symptoms, like cough, evening rise of temperature, weight loss and blood tests, which will show a raised ESR and increased lymphocyte count, if it is an active infection. So, if his symptoms are not improving with the medications given, then you can think of ruling out tuberculosis.

Hi everybody there, i have been diagonised with intrathoracic lymph nodes tuberculosis with no symptoms.The lypmhadenopathy was seen after flourography in 2009 i ran all tests for tuberculosis and were negative again this year the lymphadenopathy was still there, and the following tests came positive for tuberculosis : mantoux test & lung biopsy through bronchoscopy urine,blood & sputum came clean,still upto now no symptoms but i have started TB's treatment almost a month now.
His diagnosis was it is a type of tuberculosis that affects eyes.but his chest x ray came without any problems.Could you please explain to me what might be the problem.below I am sending the blood test result as attatchment.He is a 21 year old tall and slim guy.He some times get some skin rashes and other than that he doesn't have any health problems.should he start the tuberculosis treatment?
Today I was out with a friend. After that she told me that her family member is in hospital as he has tuberculosis. But I don't know what kind of tb it is. I am quite paranoid about this as afraid they as the family members stay together but they didn't test also. Is there any risk involved? She did cough once when I was standing in front of her.
About more than 13 years ,spine doctor started Tuberculosis treatment after seeing spine-lower part, but I did not started treatment, does this is normal that during this period TB has been settled or spread to other organs.
5-6 month back CT shows lung nodule size 5mm, catching infections frequently. Now doctor ask for chest XRAY,
Please guide that this is possible that I develop TB signs slow and slow during this period. Today X ray was done.
The standard therapy options include intravenous immunoglobulin and plasmapharesis, corticosteroids, azathioprine, cyclophosphamide, etanercept, mycophenolate mofetil, interferon alpha 2a and tacrolimus. Current ones are interferon beta 1a, rituximab, and high dose cyclophosphamide. Your neurologist needs to apprise you of the long-term side effects since prolonged therapy are required. Botox shots are not known to be used in therapy.
Is it common for a chest ray to be the main source of diagnosis for tuberculosis. In 2006 my husband was treated for tb because of this x ray only. Skin and Sputum test were negative. What is usually the reason for this. He tested negative for hiv, and I know that can be a reason some times. Other than the tuberculosis he had treatment and he fine.
i have done a test last week for Tuberculosis it shows positive and re do the same test at the same hospital after 5 days it says negative but still i have this this dry cough and fever i have no found any other sines of Tuberculosis from me ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

PTB left upper lobe means pulmonary tuberculosis of the left upper lobe. Pulmonary tuberculosis is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and it can lead to infection in the lungs, skin, bones and brain. A person suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis needs to take antituberculous treatment for 6-9 months. Before labeling anybody as suffering from tuberculosis other tests like TB PCR, sputum AFB test and HRCT chest may be needed to confirm the diagnosis.

hi I have a question , I recently did a tb test for my job and the rash turned out to be positive I forgot to mention to the doctors that I had a tuberculosis vaccine when i was younger in europe because thats where i was born. They took an xray of my chest today and i didnt notice any major tares on the lung xray. they told me i have to wait 3 days for the result im worried please help ... any info would be great thank you...
My CT scan reports say that I have IC Tuberculosis with pericaecal and mesenteric lymphadenopathy (Intestinal Tuberculosis) What diet should I follow being a vegetarian and how long the treatment will be?
