Avatar m tn I have been having electrical shocks in my left calf now for about a year and a half. After this diagnosis I was told to continue with my Gabapentin {3x a day @300mg} but I was also told that a possible Botox shot in the surface area of my left calf might also end this pain. Can anyone tell me what possible effects the Botox shot might have on me such as adverse reactions etc.
Avatar f tn hi Punkie..........thats a good question and I have the same pain from the buttocks to the hip and radiating to the thigh and down my legs..worse on left side........I have 2 problems and this pain could be caused by either one doctor says one thing the other says different so gets very confusing. 1. it very well could be caused by the bursitis in our hips, although from what I understand that pain should only radiate as far as the thighs and not necessarily down the whole leg. 2.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have seen my doctor about a month ago and have sciatica. For sciatica I am only on Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I am getting pain still and very locked up. I also take Clonazepam and 10 mg Amitriptyline for cyclic vomiting syndrome (or abdominal migraine). I have been on the same dose for 30 years. I read that taking a higher dose than I am on of Amitriptyline can help back pain. Do you recommend that I ask my doctor for a higher dose to try? Do you think it would bring the pain down some?
Avatar n tn I'm wondering how long folks waited to have surgery for sciatica. I'm at the 3-month mark and my symptoms are still excruciating. I'm a very active person and can't stand my new almost sedentary lifestyle. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Hi, my 18 year old son has just found out his girlfriend is pregnant, he had been on methotrexate for the last 13 years and we have always been warned about the dangers of fathering a child, I have read on this site a lot of people saying the child has been ok but they seem only to have been taking this med for a few months, does anyone have any advice for someone who has been taking this drug weekly since they were 5 years old and how it will affect an unborn child as he is at odds of whether t
305180 tn?1279716747 Hey there ladies just wondering if anyone has found any kind of relief for Sciatica. My left sciatic nerve is pinched and I can barely walk in the morning when I get up. It takes a good 10 minutes to get to a point where I can walk at least somewhat comfortably. I have only gained about 15 pounds too, so I dont understand why its hurting so bad. Maybe its from lifting somethign heavy last weekend, but since then that left side has been hurting really bad. Any ideas on how to get some relief?
Avatar n tn I have been fighting Sciatica for 6 months. I am unable to stand or sit for any length of time. I had an MRI and had a Cyst removed via needle as out patient along with a steroid injection. I was told one in ten people the procedure would not be successful and happen to that one by a neurosurgeon. I was told they could TRY going in at a different angle and I could TRY steroid epidural. I have been searching for other options and have not found any with concrete results.
Avatar f tn ) And my sciatica was horrendous afterwards. Usually I can just sit on ny birth ball for a bit and it relieves the pressure. Today I was not so lucky. So, I remembered this tip from one of you beautiful ladies and tried it. It worked really REALLY well! So, THANK YOU!
Avatar m tn I am going to meet a neurosurgeon next week. I am so worried About this right now and I am scared if this is sciatica. If that is the case can it be cured permanently, Or do I have to suffer my entire life? Thanks a lot for you kind attention.
Avatar f tn What did u do for relief? Mine went out two years ago and I layed in bed for two months because I couldnt move. Its not that bad this time but im afraid its going to get that bad and I know I cant take anything for it with pregnancy so I was just wondering how some of u got relief?
Avatar f tn But the best thing for me is to lay down and put a tennis ball under your lower back, whichever side the sciatica is on, and roll it around for a few minutes. Then ice it. Hurts so good! lol. Hope that helps!
1300526 tn?1275771621 Sometime walking it off seems to help it slow down or go away, there are days as well where that same hip might feel like suddenly it wants to pop out a sevier pain that has comeand gone but left me unable to walk for a short time or even a day, is this sciatica symptoms or is it just part of neuropathy as well?
Avatar m tn Hello all, Well, I finally was given some conclusive diagnosis - a heavily inflamed Sciatica. It got to the point where I could barely walk and was in such severe pain I was bed-ridden for over a week. My PCP eventually gave me Percoset and some Aleve (which combined helped take the edge off - but still pain). I have been told that usually the sciatica heals and/or pain subsides in @4 weeks on its own.
Avatar m tn *It's been like this for 3 weeks.
Avatar f tn Get a prenatal massage, it really helped get rid of the pain for me, for weeks!!
Avatar f tn Has anyone else had sciatica pain when pregnant or not? And what do you recommend for relief? My left leg has been hurting like a sharp pain with tingling and numbness off and on. I don't know what to do to help since Tylenol didn't help...any help or suggestions would be great!
