Our aim was to investigate the efficacy and safety of etanercept as adjuvant to interferon and ribavirin in treatment-naive patients with HCV. METHODS: Double-blind, randomized, placebo controlled trial. Fifty patients with chronic HCV were randomly assigned to receive interferon alfa-2b and ribavirin with either etanercept or placebo for 24 weeks. The main outcome measure was the absence of HCV RNA at 24 weeks, the on treatment response at the end of the etanercept randomization period.

Well, peri spinal etanercept is a relatively new therapy for sciatica type of pain. However, as with any new therapy, it has its success and failure stories. It is however known to penetrate the spinal fluid and cause rapid relief in pain. The negative side is that there is no pain relief (which actually cannot be a negative side as you are already in pain). As a note of caution: this mode of drug delivery with etanercept is still in late experimental stage.
I have been on methotrexate for over 20 years and also have been on etanercept (enbrel) but now am only on methotrexate, celebrex and infusions of rituxan every 6 months. I read about all the adverse reactions of all the meds I take and these have never been associated with either of your meds.

The standard therapy options include intravenous immunoglobulin and plasmapharesis, corticosteroids, azathioprine, cyclophosphamide, etanercept, mycophenolate mofetil, interferon alpha 2a and tacrolimus. Current ones are interferon beta 1a, rituximab, and high dose cyclophosphamide. Your neurologist needs to apprise you of the long-term side effects since prolonged therapy are required. Botox shots are not known to be used in therapy.

You need to see a gyno because your good ovary could develop problems, you need advice on possible hormone replacement and it is possible although rare to get vaginal cancer and the only way to detect that in early stage is pap smear

Studies have indeed show that high blood glucose may predispose to cancer and cancer cells primarily run on glucose. Views on this are diverse and while further studies may need to be done, it is still up to the patient to take this. Westernized approach of cancer has involved chemotherapy and medications while eastern medicine have been employing dietary approach in management of diseases for a long time. I am afraid of the idea of having penile cancer but am only 18 and the last time I had sex was 3.5 months ago. I have have had a painless red rash around my urethra and part of the head of the penis for almost 2 months. I'm worried because STD tests came back negative so I'm wondering if it is HPV that has manifested it into a cancer?
I could be mistaken - but I have looked the evidence over and talked with people here and the theory of RAI and cancer you talk about is reversed. I as an RAI patients back in 2003 was recently informed by an ENT that people that do have RAI - that develop nodules are at a higher risk on the nodule being carcimona. That is not very enlightening for me b/c they found I do have a solid nodule now.

I think it would be best to google and get informed about sugar's effect upon cancer--as there are numerous and valid studies that are contrary to the doctor's response, here. my oncologist agrees that cancer indeed likes sugar and thrives on it. sugar also suppresses the immune system..
there are so many varied opinions--and each is subjective. you must go within to find the answer that is right for YOU--it's your body, your life.
She refused, and saw another doctor who helped with treatments while pregnant. She got rid of the cancer and gave birth to my cousin! Today, my cousin is 18 years old and perfectly healthy! And technology has changed a lot since then! Hopefully your friend has just as good of doctors...so sorry she is going through this, I wish her the best! Cancer has hit my family hard in the past recent months, I know how hard it can be.
My family immediately went into action because, unknown to me, ovarian cancer runs in my family. I have a great-aunt who died on my mothers side and every other female since has had hysterectomies after pre-cancerous cells, tumors and solid cysts were found. On my father side my aunt became infertile at a young age due to pre-cancerous tumors on her ovaries and had them removed at age 30. My grandmother also had to have a hysterectomy for the same reasons.
I had a hysterectomy 9 years ago (ovarian cancer but no chemo) and have since developed chronic migraines + headaches, allergy to cat hair that was treated with allergy shots over 2 years, and an exacerbated dust allergy that did not respond to shots. My migraines involve great sensitivity to odours and sounds.
You are well within your rights to ask people around you (at work or school) not to wear perfumes because most of the new perfumes are chemical-based.
