Avatar f tn Estrogen causes some of the glands in the breast tissue to swell .Birth control patch causes consistent release of estrogen which causes elevated estrogen levels throughout the body making the breasts become larger. If you are too concerned it will be best to discuss it with your gynecologist. I hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn I think up to 12 weeks. Keep in mind that they have to disclose possible side effects. All these fertility drugs have crazy side effects......why is it that this is the only one noticed.??
Avatar f tn cysts of ovaries, depression, dizziness, hair loss are more common with implanon.Evra patch contains more of estrogen compared to implanon. The major problem or disadvantage with the patch is that it can increase the risk of blood clot formation more than the conventional pill. Failure rates of evra patch are more compared to implanon. It is necessary to ensure that the woman will have maximum benefit with least side effects.
Avatar f tn Hello, All your symptoms are the side effects of the birth control ortho evra patch. The Ortho Evra birth control patch releases a high amount of estrogen into the bloodstream—60% more than from birth control pills—which is known to increase the risk for blood clots. These blood clots occlude the blood vessels as thrombi and if they get dislodged and occlude the blood vessels at some other site, they are called emboli.
Avatar n tn Hi! I have low estrogen and normal FSH (I'm 38, though). My course of action is to wear an estrogen patch from 3 days after ovulation to 12 days after ovulation (since that's when mine is dropping off). I have heard of (and tried it once, but didn't like how I felt) that the patch can also be worn during CD8-12 to help with low estrogen. My acupuncturist told me that the patch is the most similar to actual estrogen (versus pills) so I pushed for that!
Avatar f tn I also think I am less healthy because of the effects of lack of hormones. I have tried to combat the side effects and did remain hormone free, but now I wonder if I made the right choice. I didn't anticipate having to deal with all of these other health issues so soon. Then again, maybe HRT wouldn't have made a difference. But, it sure does feel like a no win situation. It is hard to know which choice is bad and which one is worse.
Avatar f tn if your low on estrogen and I bet you are the cure is simple...I choose the patch its easy and no bad side effects...its a simple blood test to determine if you need hormones.
Avatar f tn Hi All, I'm hoping someone here can help me. I was supposed to start my estrace (E2) patch today (10 DPO) and then onto an IVF stim at the beginning of next AF. So this morning, I stuck one of the patches (.1mg) on my left rear cheek and after about 6 hours, I had very bad chest pains. I have never felt like that before. It hurt badly to take deep breaths and I was just lying on the bed afraid to move because my chest was hurting so much.
Avatar n tn Hello, my wife had a full hysterectomy approximately 10 years ago and everything was taken out, EVERYTHING. She had a few cysts and her gynecologist suggested a full hysterectomy due to the fact that the cysts could come back if she were to get a a half hysterectomy. Long story short, she's a strong woman who really keeps it together but she has recently expressed that she's been battling depression.
Avatar f tn I am on a patch too - I am not sure of your brand, but mine is bio-identical and just that it bypasses the liver means less side effects. The side effects are typically caused by too much or too little of the hormone. Have you consulted an endocrinologist to see how your hormones are as you may need a thyroid increase or other medication and you then may not need depression and anxiety medications.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had a total hysterectomy on April 20 (3 months ago). I had my uterus, ovaries, cervix and tubes removed due to fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometrosis (found during the operation). I also scheduled a urologist to come in after the hysterectomy and perform a bladder suspension. I'm 55 years old and prior to surgery I had not stopped bleeding on a regular basis, so the hysterectomy was my "menopause".
Avatar m tn I would like to take estrogen to help the menopause symptoms still driving me crazy one year after surgery and chemo for ovarian cancer stage 2c - I also had a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy as I have a history of breast cancer in my family - I have heard the HRT can increase the incidence of OC but I am wondering if an estrogen patch would be safe as I have had my ovaries, uterus, tubes, cervix, and breasts removed surgically.
Avatar f tn I'm 48, had hysterectomy 10 yrs ago but still have my ovaries. Started having sever hot-flashes so my doctor put me on the Vivelle Dot. It took care of the hot-flashes but caused me to gain 10 pounds in a 6 week period. My doc said the weight gain was from menopause. Well, I took the patch off 2 weeks ago and threw it away, and I have now lost 6 of those pounds and feel much better. I think it was causing depressiont too.
Avatar f tn Hello, I was just reading about an older dog having a problem with urinary incontinence and the treatment she was given, particularly the possible side effects. My White Bearded Collie (13 years old) started being incontinent last year and my vet has prescribed INCURIN 1mg daily. This has been mostly effective (just the odd occurrence when she was asleep or distressed). I was just concerned that it may have some serious side effects such as those mentioned for the other treatment (PPA).
178345 tn?1242536246 Girls - I know I should maybe post this elsewhere but since you guys are my friends and know so much I was just wondering if anyone here that is on the vivelle-dot patch have any side effects from it..for 2 days I have this drawing pain in my upper thigh...it is more of a nuisance than a real terrible pain...I always worry about blood clots..I took my patch off just in case for a few hours but had to put it on due to the hot flashes ...I am hoping this is nothing but I am worried..
Avatar f tn s important to notify your doc about it - depending on how high your fever is, they may ask you to remove the patch tmeporarily - for the same reason as avoiding other heat sources - too much medication can be released. When I was using the patch (I had to stop it due to negative side effects), one time I had a fever of 103.6 from strep throat and my doc had me remove the patch until my fever was below 100 (and use my BT meds during that time).
Avatar m tn s known to have sexual side effects. This may include adjusting or changing your current medications or starting treatment for previously undetected conditions. Estrogen therapy. Systemic estrogen therapy — by pill, patch or gel — can have a positive effect on brain function and mood factors that affect sexual response.
8216878 tn?1403882912 I used the evra patch it worked great for me.
Avatar f tn I was on a bio-identical form of estrogen (the patch) until recently when they found some breast masses. I had a total hysterectomy at 43. I used to have a lots of breast tenderness even on birth control... So I would work with your doc both on form and dose to use the least amount and the most most bio-identical you can to reduce risk and side effects.
Avatar f tn When I get out of the ordinary feelings like nausea, or anything different I always check my meds. Do you have any other new meds? Look at your print out for side effects, or if your pharmacy doesn't give you a print out listing side effects, google it you may be able to read the side effects on this site. I once took Hormones and had horrible stomach cramps, and I was put on the hormone patch so it would not have to go through my stomach.
Avatar f tn How was the side effects with the pills tho? Im considering using it.n maybe u can look into the depo shot,it may work for u.its a shot u take every 3 mths..
7677085 tn?1395374075 I had an iud and had a lot of pain and swelling and bad side effects and with depo I gained a lot of weight. I had implanon the one in the arm and that was by far my favorite!
Avatar n tn Are there any side effects with this disease other than the outbreaks? I'm having an issue with vaginal lubrication and I was diagnosed 3 years ago. And I'm wondering if this virus could be the reason.
Avatar n tn t have, and was placed on a higher dose of estrogen. I use the vivelle dot patch, oral estrogen and vaginal estrogen. This seems to have helped the urinary problems amongst other things. Are you on hormone replacement? There is a great book I am reading called "Screaming to be heard" by Elizabeth Vliet MD and it really goes into detail on how hormones affect every organ system. Are you on Hormone replacement? I hope this helps, and I hope you get some answers.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Thank you for writing to us here, though I am sorry that you are struggling with side effects from the result of breast cancer medication. I am also a breast cancer survivor, however as I am triple negative, the hormonal drugs are not effective for me so unfortunately I cant speak from experience. However, that doesn't mean that I cant find out some interesting information for you in relation to libido and Arimidex.
Avatar f tn many younger women need just a tad of estrogen and the hotflashes and moodiness are gone I used a Estrogen Patch called vivelle slap a tiney patch on two time a week and good to go, still had normal sex drive etc..
