Avatar f tn Hi there, While on Birth control patch few women may experience breast discomfort, breast pain and enlargement of the breasts. This patch contains approximately 60 percent more estrogen compared to other hormonal contraceptive. Estrogen causes some of the glands in the breast tissue to swell .Birth control patch causes consistent release of estrogen which causes elevated estrogen levels throughout the body making the breasts become larger.
Avatar m tn Breast enlargement in adult men is usually due to imbalance of sex hormones and more of estrogen and less of testosterone. At times it is a false or pseudo breast enlargement and happens due to excess deposition of fat. In such cases surgery is the treatment to remove excess fat. Please consult an endocrine specialist or your PCP to get this evaluated. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hi, Do not worry, everybody need not get the breast enlargement, normally only fatty boys get it, even in such a case, remember, you are not the only one who will have it. Best thing is not to be bothered about it. In any case, do have a check up with your doctor.
Avatar n tn My doctor stated I have increased breast tissue on that breast.
Avatar f tn can someone having a 2 lumps(fibroadenoma) in her right breast take phytoestrogen pills like thanyaporn for breast enlargement? does it have any side effect if this patient take this supplement? thanks 4 answering..
Avatar m tn Some medications taken for conditions such as prostate enlargement may also stimulate breast growth. Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions and medicine, including herbal supplements that you may be taking. The appearance of gynecomastia is common in men and boys who are obese. The physicial appearance may be simply cosmetic due to a buildup of fat throughout the body including in the breast area.
Avatar m tn Hi, At your age many boys do get issues with breast enlargement, which normally get settled by itself when one comes out of puberty. It is mostly due to the unbalance of estrogen to testosterone ratio that happens during the early stages of puberty. Reducing your weight is the key factor that can control this problem. Also stay away from supplements and try to get all required nutrients directly from food.
Avatar f tn Those nodules could merely represent fibrocystic changes (enlargement in several breast glands due to increase in estrogen levels, which could happen if the ultrasound was taken shortly before your menstrual period). The possibility that those nodules are cancerous still has to be ruled out though. I think a biopsy can already be performed on a 0.5 cm nodule.
Avatar n tn Is it common for the cancers to be estrogen positive in one breast and estrogen negative in the other
Avatar f tn what causes this and how am i going to stop the enlargement? is this cancer already? we dont have cancer cases in the family, but how can this be treated?
Avatar f tn Do they even have over-the-counter estrogen? Mine (for IVF purposes) was all by prescription.
587083 tn?1327120262 Thank you so much for your answer,I had a feeling that those products can cause breast cancer and you have confirmed it.I pray and hope that all goes well for you too.
Avatar f tn But now the endo states inflammation and slight enlargement, I have to wait for antibody tests to come back. I am 46 years old and also in perimenopause ( had hysterectomy 20 years ago leaving one ovary) that is the reason she wants to put me on the estrogen patch. She may want to put me on low dosage of snythoid, I forgot to mention that also. Please help!
Avatar f tn m not pregnant so it has nothing to do with that. I thought about my family, which 2-3 women have had breast cancer my grandma is cancer free as of a few years ago and my aunt died from it. Now I'm worried because I have weird lumps on my areola. But my left areola has enlarged quite a bit and has gotten a little darker too :( Please let me know what I should do. I dont have insurance to go to a doctor...What are my options.
Avatar f tn Is there a right or wrong answer to using estrogen blockers for ADH? I realize that ADH isn't cancer just a disorder that puts me at a higher risk to develop breast cancer. Has the research shown that it is better one way than the other? Estrogen blockers vs. monthly breast self-exams, MRI's of the breast and noting any type of changes in the breast? I'm only 54 years old and not really sure what to do from here?
594914 tn?1245263684 Hey what is the purpose for estrogen meds. My Doc put me on them and he said he wants me to start them next month if my cycle comes.... What good does this do for me?
Avatar n tn Some men using saw palmetto report difficulty with erections, testicular discomfort, breast tenderness or enlargement, and changes in sexual desire. Saw palmetto may have effects on the body's response to the sex hormones estrogen and testosterone, but no specific effect has been well demonstrated in humans. It would be best to discuss this with your doctor for proper evaluation and for alternative supplements. (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/patient-sawpalmetto.
Avatar f tn Hey! It's true they're similar but things keep adding such as the density and so on.. I've been on this same pill since december last year, or before, and never experienced any of these issues. If it is though, why only affect one breast in such a way? My body is usually very resilient to side effects, of all things I've ever had and I'm just failing to connect the dots.
Avatar f tn Pain and swelling in the breast can indicate many things...For example hormonal fluctuation, infection as well as something more serious that requires immediate medical attention. A breast infection, is a condition called mastitis. Mastitis occurs when the skin of the breast becomes cracked, allowing bacterial, viral or fungal microbes to enter into the breast tissue and infect the fat of the breasts. The infection leads to swelling causing irritation and pain.
Avatar n tn This would typically include a revision surgery to obtain clear margins, whole breast radiation therapy, and tamoxifen in case the DCIS is positive for ER or PR (Estrogen Receptors, Progesterone Receptors). There is good clinical data to prove that this combination treatment will confer benefits beyond mere surgery, so please do consider RT and hormones (if you are receptor positive).
Avatar m tn Most guys your age will experience some enlargement and tenderness of one or both breasts or one or both nipples. Breast enlargement usually goes away in a few months. Occasionally it may take a year or two. Nipple swelling likewise is usually temporary. Enlargement of the nipple itself is usually permanent. Surgical correction is possible, but there are, of course risks. It is usually best to resort to surgery only as a last resort.
Avatar n tn I have just been prescribed vaginal estrogen cream to relieve some symptoms that I've had. (irriatated feeling, cramps, pinching feeling) Does anyone have any feedback on this cream? Kind of concerned as breast cancer runs in my family and not sure about using this cream. Has anyone tried anything more natural?
Avatar n tn i have had pain on the outer chest wall due to the surgery and recovery which has resolved some, but the breast enlargement is more noticeable lately. Can the exercises be the cause of the enlargement? i recently had a mammogram and breast cancer does not run in the family.
Avatar n tn I am 51 years old and I was told by my Ob/Gyn that I have estrogen dominance that is causing my endometrium to keep thickening and consequently causing heavy and long periods. I also have iron deficiency anemia because of this. I have had endometrial biopsies (about a year ago) and Pelvic/transvaginal ultra sounds which did show a thickened lining but otherwise normal. My Dr has prescribed Prometrium 200mgs to be taken for the 1st 5 days of my next period.
Avatar f tn is it normal for boys to have swollen breast at age 10? This discussion is related to swollen breast in boys.
3112530 tn?1434032033 In your case it is possible that the anabolic steroids and androgens have caused breast enlargement. The treatment of breast enlargement depends on the cause. Avoiding the medication if possible may prevent further enlargement. The surgical option for enlarged breasts is liposuction to remove fat and scalpel surgery to remove glandular tissue. It is usually done by a plastic surgeon and it takes almost 60-90 minutes.
Avatar f tn And with hormone positive cancer you for sure want to block your ovaries (if you still have them) and/or your adrenals from feeding estrogen to your estrogen positive breast cancer. You mention one mastectomy. That means you still have breast tissue on the remaining breast and also whatever breast tissue cells left behind on the mastectomy side. Research research research!! Weigh the options and risk factors and decide what you can live with.
Avatar m tn You may need to see an Endocrinologist, to rule out Gynecomastia, which is breast enlargement in boys & men due to estrogen/testosterone imbalance. It could also be due to excessive fat deposit in that area, if one is very overweight (obese).
Avatar f tn Thank you for your last response. I did see a dermatologist and she said the marks on my legs were sun spots. However now I have many other questions. Mt Melanoma was "in situ", which I hear is great. But now I am trying to do all I can to prevent it from coming back. I have recently read that both estrogen and vitamin C have been linked to increasing Melanoma. Is this true?
