Common Questions and Answers about Estradiol generic

Avatar m tn I personally found generic Estrace (micronized estradiol tablets) to work better for me than the patch. And a bonus is that it is a $4 (for 30) / $10 (for 90) prescription whereas I think I was paying $70 for a 3 month supply of patches.
Avatar f tn I want enough estradiol in me to make sure I can string a sentence together, avoid depression, have a sex drive, have better word retrival, have strong bones, less moodiness, have good heart function, no cramping in legs (the worst when I am low in my estradiol)... no foot problems (yes... when estradiol was too low for a few years...bad doc's advice... yuk,... I ended up having to have surgery on both feet).. no joint pain... I could go on and on and on.
1651832 tn?1301690605 The only reason I would switch to that form of Estradiol is because my new health insurance is charging so much for the Vivelle and will only cover the generic form of the Climara patch (also a bioidentical estradiol and not a bad choice, but I have heard that women are not liking the generic version. Maybe it will get better sooooon... I hope!) I also take testosterone along with that hormone.

778044 tn?1299542934 Hi Ladies, I went in for my follicle check today, and there are a few growing (day 12) but my uterine lining was just over 5 mm so it was measuring a little thin. The nurse wanted to put me on estrogen for the next couple weeks to try and build up the lining. I am on 2 mg of Estrace (actually the generic is called estradiol) which is inserted vaginally. It's just a little pill that I am supposed to put in my vagina I guess. Anyone else taken this before????
Avatar f tn I am 55 and went through menopause almost 5 years ago. I use a generic weekly estradiol patch (.1 mg) and Prometrium (200 mg) every night due to extreme menopausal symptoms. I change my patch on Monday evenings. I bleed for several days beginning every other Monday. Could this be caused by the patch losing effectiveness before the week is up? Would switching to Vivelle Dot, which has a twice a week schedule, help prevent the bleeding?
Avatar m tn 39 Fsh=5.9 lh=5.99 and estradiol=43. I also had bloodwork done and my thyroid tested, again they said normal. The problem started when my gyn put me on microgestin after being on the generic ortho tricyclen for 10 years. 1 month into the Microgestin I became severely dizzy and had severe heart palpitations. I completely stopped all birth control and my body became super fatigued and I broke out in horrible cystic acne.
Avatar n tn s office calls me today and says that they have prescribed me estrace (generic estradiol) and that it will pause my cycle till Tuesday. By Tuesday insurance matters should clear-up and then I can start taking the injections. Tomorrow is the 5th day of my cycle and the injection should have theoretically started on Day 5. This is my first IUI attempt. My concern is I don't want to take medications that I don't need.
689860 tn?1238718032 Be sure your doctor monitors your levels monthly including your estradiol (estrogen) levels. When your proper testosterone levels are achieved, continue to monitor your estradiol levels monthly for up to 6 months. If they rise too high, a drug that is normally used for females with breast cancer called Arimidex will take care of the problem. It neutralizes the enzyme that causes testosterone to aromatize into estrogen.
Avatar f tn But now she stopped Aldactone and gave me Birth Control Pill ( Ocella, its generic of Yasmin). But How long can I take this BCP I am not sure. My period are always been so frequent since they started ( in the age of 13). Recently my doc took vaginal and abdominal ultrasound. She found that I have Poly cystic ovaries. But she told me that I don't have PCOS as my periods are very frequent. My doc took all the test. First they took my blood sample, and then gave me a injuction of Cortrosyn.
374593 tn?1257879950 I always thought that the estradiol was to make sure your lining was thick enough for implantation. Because I now the drugs like clomid can thin your lining making it impossible for the egg to implant. I could be wrong though.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
2159711 tn?1336833090 Some of us find it easier to control levels of FT3 and FT4 by using synthetic drugs, such as synthroid (or generic levo) and cytomel (or generic T3), because we can adjust them individually, as needed. It's all individual choice.
Avatar n tn t need the progesterone and can take estrogen only (Premarin vs. Prempro or even the very economical generic estradiol tablets). I'm also 63 and have been on estradiol since having a hysterectomy at age 49. I worry about not being able to get a prescription as I get older.
Avatar n tn I am on 200 mg prometrium /5 mg estradiol, and metformin as well as tirosint. The prometrium and estradiol is for hot flashes. The metformin for prediabetes, couldn't get my a1c down, and tirosint for thyroid disease. My question is this...the prometrium and estradiol are causing my blood sugars to stay high, as well as make me very tired, as well as making me gain weight. I walk briskly at least 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour daily. I watch what I eat, low sugars, etc.
7649183 tn?1393014236 Menostar (estradiol transdermal system) 14 mcg per day - each 3.25 cm2 system contains 1 mg of estradiol. Vivelle-Dot® (estradiol transdermal system), 0.025 mg/day - each 2.5 cm² system contains 0.39 mg of estradiol USP for nominal* delivery of 0.025 mg of estradiol per day. Since the Menostar patch is applied once/weekly and contains 1 mg of estradiol, then that's around .14 mg/day (the data says .014 mg/day). The Vivelle-dot is applied twice/weekly and contains .
Avatar n tn It is hard to predict. The higher levels of estrogen may promote the midcycle LH surge, which is what urine OPKs look for. If this happens, the surge might come a couple of days earlier. This is called positive feedback. On the other hand, the higher estrogen levels my inhibit LH (this is called negative feedback) delaying the surge. You will need to test for ovulation to find out.
Avatar f tn m in my late 30s - the first month I was tested, my estradiol was 374 and my FSH 5.2. The next month my estradiol dropped to 87 and my FSH increased to 10.1. I'm at a loss of whether I should keep trying or just say that a baby isn't in my cards. Anyone else heard of estradiol dropping hundreds of points in a single month?
Avatar f tn I am currently taking Lupron and Estradiol leading up to my IVF. I am having awful headaches and some nausea with the estradiol. Did anyone else experience this and does it go away? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I got the results of my bloodwork today and my FSH is 6.34, LH - 2.46 and Estradiol 96.3. Can anyone say if this looks good especially the estradiol?
