Avatar f tn Norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol – Significantly impacted severity and duration of migraines, but provides no protection against other PMS symptoms and cause me to be a rageful, emotionally insane person for 3 days.
Avatar n tn Hi, I’ve recently gotten on a birth control pill called “ Norethindrone Acetate and Ethinyl Estradiol 1mg/0.02 mg” What I’ve recently discovered is after taking the three weeks of pills I’m supposed to take a week off of the pills and then start the new pack. Needless to say, I was unaware that I was supposed to be taking this week off between packs. I’ve been taking this birth control for almost 4 months without these week breaks between packs. Is this something I should worry about?
172411 tn?1287086265 The only use I have ever heard about with norethindrone is as add-back with lupron and that is in miniscule amounts.
1353681 tn?1387083733 I have been on Norethindrone for 3 years following a surgery to remove 2 cysts. I just wonder if it is ok to remain on this med long term, and if anyone knows if a side effect includes raising blood pressure? Thank you..
Avatar f tn I need to get my Metformin and prenatal vitamins filled today I have to start taking that Norethindrone again starting Wednesday, November 3rd and take it all the way through the 14th. Thanks again for answering my questions!
Avatar f tn I normally have very regular periods, but since the beginning of the year they have been only coming about every other month or so. The beginning of July my doctor put me on Norethindrone .35mg to help regulate my periods. I want to get pregnant ASAP, but it just wasnt happening with having irregular cycles. Will Norethindrone help me to ovulate or is it ultimately going to make it harder for us to conceive?
Avatar m tn My family doctor wants me to consider trying the Combipatch (a combination of estrdiol and norethindrone). Can anyone give me any input on that? Also, I do have family history of heart disease and cancer. The only thing I’m not cunfussed about is, I need relief, and the sooner, the better! It’s been 8 years since the hysterectomy; my family and I are all at the end of our ropes. Please help! Where do I go for testing? Should I go online or a compounding pharmacy?
Avatar f tn Hello, my fiancé and I are actively ttc. I haven’t had a cycle since August 2017, so a few days ago I went to the ob/gyn..he didn’t seem very concerned. He told me to lose a few pounds, which I am about 20 lbs overweight. He said PCOS could be a possibility, but for now he prescribed me Norethindrone 5mg. I am supposed to take 2 pills twice a day, & there are 20 pills total. My doc said it will help with a “breakthrough bleed” to get my cycle back.

Avatar f tn I live very rurally and have no other options to obtain a prescription anywhere within a three hour radius, and even outside of that it will be very expensive because the appointment will be a new consult and will require a pap etc. I found out about project ruby where you can answer questions online and receive a months supply of birth control for $20. They only have five types of birth control. The only progestin only one is .35 mg of norethindrone. Will this have the same effect for me?
Avatar f tn I took one pregnancy test before I began Norethindrone and it of course was negative, but I took it around 6PM. Again, I seriously doubt I am pregnant, but taking another test first thing in the morning might ease my mind, but I don't want to take it if this medication is going to give me a false positive. I read in the comments of an article about dollar store pregnancy tests that Norethindrone can and will give you a false positive; the poster said they were speaking from experience.
Avatar f tn I went to see a OB/GYN late September and my husband and I told her that we have been trying to get pregnant for years. We told her of the pregnancy that I had in 2003 that ended in a miscarriage when I got about 5 months along.
Avatar n tn Still no period and my husband and I would like to have a kid. I have taking the THS test and the prolactin test and they were fine. He said my level is 7 and should be 10 or higher (not sure which one is talking about- progesertone level maybe. What do you think?
Avatar n tn The estradiol supresses this mechanism, allowing multiple follicles to mature, and making your chlomid or other drugs a better shot at producing multiple eggs.
Avatar f tn Fast forward to the morning and my alarm goes off and I hope and pray the pain is gone but the second I try sit up it is clear that it’s not. I tried walking to the bathroom but I was in so much pain that I started getting dizzy and weak in the knees and experiencing hot flashes. It was at this moment I knew I needed to tell my dad that something was wrong.
Avatar f tn I was told that it would thin the lining of my uterus and make me fertile in other words ovulate and to take it until my periods stops then try to conceive and if I start to bleed again take it again and just keep repeating or something like that. I haven't picked the meds up yet because I'm confused if its a Birth control how can we conceive.
Avatar f tn In the past three days my beta increased from 186 to 534, but my progesterone and estradiol both dropped. Progesterone went from 93 to 73.3 and estradiol went from 520 to 503. Should I be concerned? I'm 15 days post-transfer. Thanks.
1386249 tn?1303092096 I need some feedback on my hormone levels since this hormone testing is new to me. I haven't heard from my OB, but this is what my Progesterone and Estradiol levels are according to my family doc: tell me what you think ON CD10 taken February 24 Progesterone level is 0.7 Estradiol level is 1.71 What this means...I have absolutely no clue. I tried reading on it, and it seems as if I should not have tested on CD10. I should have tested on CD 3....is this correct?
Avatar f tn Get add back therapy. It is minuscule amounts of norethindrone and progesterone. My doctor (a great reproductive endocrinologist) refuses to give lupron without add back he said it is the equivalent of torture not to offer add back.
Avatar f tn Each person reacts differently to the medication combo. I have been put on Lupron and the Norethindrone previously and I didn't get my period for about 2 months. However, I was placed on another hormone suppressant shortly after I got my period because my pain came back. I know it is frustrating because no one person reacts the same way to Lupron.
216278 tn?1308861082 , it has been determined that I have sub-clinical hypothyroidism and my estrogen levels are low. This is the first month that I have worn an Estradiol patch and am just getting concerned! I know that the best advice and words of wisdom come from those who have experienced it, so I thought that I would start here... Is it possible that this patch can raise my Estrogen to a level that would hinder my chances at pregnancy this month? (I wear it for 10 days after I ovulate!) Thanks!
Avatar n tn For menopausal reasons and especially at your age, I am glad to see your doctor gave you estradiol and only that (no other estrogens in the mix). As far as the patch goes, use trial and error if you have problems with it sticking. Also, sometimes if you are exercising frequently, you may be metabolizing the estradiol rather quickly, so keep a list of symptoms as they occur so that you can share this info with your doctor in case a dosing change has to be made.
942482 tn?1246369357 I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, only unlike a lot of others that have it I have abnormally long periods as opposed to seldom having any. Although my periods are long I'm not actually ovulating. When my last period seemed to be non-ending, I went to my ob-gyn (a new one as I moved recently to VA). I wanted to go on birth control because in the past that has worked for me. She prescribed Provera, which I took for 10 days.
1134811 tn?1284550821 The change in cervical mucus I did not notice. However my doctor prescribed estradiol at the same time with my 150mg of Clomid. The estradiol helps to create more of the beneficial ewcm. I also did the 150mg of Clomid with no IUI. The side effects at this high of a dose were terrible for me though... Ugh!
