I started taking over-the-counter Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium 20mg/capsule) a few days ago and may be taking them for at least the next 2 weeks. My blood magnesium levels were low a few weeks ago and they just got back to normal right before I started taking the Nexium. I've been taking Naxium in the evening (4-5pm) at least an hour before having dinner.

Esomeprazole (nexium) and all other proton pump inhibitor have a black box warning - hypomagnesemia (magnesium deficiency). Symptoms of magnesium deficiency are many but include constipation, palpitations and fatigue. Not all hot nodules produce symptoms but your nodule may be the cause of palpitations and fatigue. If a hot nodule causes hyperthyroidism, it can be treated with anti thyroid drugs, radioactive iodine, or surgery.
As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. One of the known side effects of Nexium (Esomeprazole Magnesium) is jerking muscle movements so i'd say if he isn't experiencing a side effect of the Nexium, because he's stressed and experiencing weird dreams it's probably just normal sleep induced myoclonic muscle twitches as he's going in and out of the sleep fazes.

I have 10 year throat problem: in the first couple years, I just intermittently felt something/tickle in the area just below the throat (upper trachea), I didn't pay much attention; then in the last couple years, the feeling/tickle just below the throat was getting strong (but sometimes tickle/feeling still gone), and sometimes I had cough caused by saliva at night times.
although the prefixes in pantoprozole(protonix) and esomeprazole magnesium (nexium) are different, its the suffixes that you need to look at. They are the main make-up of these drugs.
Can I take esomeprazole,diazepam,antihistamine( Given by doc to help sleep ). Green tea capsules,cranberry pills,multivitamins and kanna together please? And on days I don't take my diazepam can i take valerian instead with these other supplements?

The doctor put me on Omeprazole for 21 days and after that the symptoms came back and they put me in for Esomeprazole (Nexium) for another 21 days. After the Nexium I still have the symptoms nausea and hyperacidity though I haven't had heartburn since then, just the feeling of tightness on my chest sometimes.
My question is has anyone survived GERD without relying on medication?

dr give me letter for my own dr..for new tablets for my reflux..on getting my tablets they called esomeprazole .40mg twice daily..and iv got to say they have helped my reflux,so what im thinking now is esomeprazole the same family of meds as nexius..i dont have to take these new meds with food just full glass water...i will check with my drs on thid .

The pains are getting worse and all my doc has give me is paracetamol and esomeprazole. They have said it is acid reflux and anxiety but i think it is more. Can someone shed light on this please.
I think insurance companies are dropping many drugs because acceptable generic equivalents are available, as is the case with Nexium (Esomeprazole). The generic version of the drug will work very well for you. I'm betting you will be just fine.
I wonder if you have considered discussing tapering off/discontinuing Nexium/Esomeprazole and see what happens. After having the Nissen Fundoplication surgery I was able to discontinue taking the drug and have been symptom free.
He checked my larynx and said I had inflammation due to GERD. He told me to make some diet changes and to take Esomeprazole 40mg every day. After three months he told me to continue for a year. Close to a year, friends were concerned I was on it fir too long and I called the ENT and he took me off it. After stopping it I have suffered of the most horrible heartburn and excessive burping. It’s been three weeks and it’s not as bad, but the problem still going on.

I've had GERD for a few years and I take 40mg of Nexium (Esomeprazole) every day. I'd like to try magic (Psilocybin) mushrooms. It it possible that they would aggravate my reflux or interact negatively with the Nexium? I was taking Esomeprazole levosulpride empty stomach daily. In november2016, i had constipation, bloating, acid reflux. Having bad stomach ache i was admitted and diagnosed with infective ulceritis. Started medication. But condition wasnt improving. In april2017, had colonoscopy done. Found terminal illeal ulcer. After the medications, condition wasnt improving. Severe constipation, acid reflux. I have consulted numerous doctors. Some have told me to live with this my entire life.
