Common Questions and Answers about Epipen weight

epipen

Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar f tn Just tell her your doctor hasnt sad anything bad about your weight, not everybody is the same, plus it seem like they are always grumpy there at the wic office lol, try to get a morning appointment next time so she wont be taking out her anger on you
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am a 40+ adult that is lactose intolerant. My mother suggested that I try the over-the-counter, once a day pill to help me cope with eating on the road and hidden dairy in foods. I have done well with it until yesterday. I have never pushed the limits of this pill because I know the regular "lactose chewable" pills will not save my digestive reaction if I blatantly pig-out on dairy, but it does help for traces of dairy.
20451547 tn?1498215245 I have been having panic attacks ever since early 2015 when I was first ever stang by a wasp and went into anaphylactic shock.(the er doctor said I am allergic to bees/wasps/hornets venom. That day I was rushed back into the er and bum rushed by 5 different nurses and a doctor, one nurse asking me which arm I want the epipen in? I am like Idc I can't breath stab me! ) I almost died that day, and now I have been having panic attacks almost every other day.
645800 tn?1466860955 With the talk of EpiPen in Michelle's post earlier today it got me thinking about my problem with needles and other self infecting skin damage devices. I am hoping that maybe someone will have some ideas or at least where to look for help with this. My problem isn't the normal fear of needles. I can get shot or blood drawn with no problems. Well except I have to be able to watch what is going on.If I can't see it happening I will pass out.
Avatar f tn This is a senior citizen who is in otherwise very good health but is losing so much weight because she cannot eat anything and this is baffling doctors. All suspected allergins were removed but she still experiences anaphylactic type symptoms requiring Epipen and Reactin which increases the blood pressure. If anyone could provide some insight or possible explanations it would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn she prescribed me epipen. What should i do because i cant take it anymore it keeps coming back..im a heavy set guy, i weight 245 and im 6'0. is this happening because im overweight? i seriously need your help people.
410850 tn?1229178711 (I had to use an Epipen once for an allergic reaction...The self injector had a freaking NAIL on the end! LOL)...may you be blessed with few sides! I'm learning the hard way to pace myself...so, I'll pass on the advice...lol Baby yourself...Don't go at full speed when you're feeling a moment of energy...Hey, have you notice your boobs getting any bigger? LOL...I didn't see that as a side! Hmmm...Bigger breasts AND weight loss too?!? What a deal!
Avatar f tn I am complaining for the last 4 1/2 years of no energy, very sluggish metabolism, gaining weight, my allergies tripled, I have to carry epipen now, plus I am very easily irritated. I am a single parent of two little children. The third doctor put me on Synthroid 0.05m, and I felt great right away, my energy, good mood and libido was back. Even my children said I am a better mom on pills.
1201433 tn?1328997637 have you tried pesasys epipen and riba they say the effect i have not tried any meds yet but i am asking for the epipen
Avatar m tn I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar m tn For a couple of years I started having this reaction to mangoes, where my lips burn and start to get crusty, and it has developed to that, my mouth gets itchy and dry, and my throat becomes raw. My aunt who used to be a RN gave me something called aclivor (both a pill and some kind of paste for my lips) which seemed to work for the first event. But lately, I've been running out of the paste and the only place I can find aclivor is on online pharmacies from Mexico.
Avatar f tn What about food allergies? I would think you would be on an antihistamine every day and carry an epipen for emergencies. Maybe there are shots you could take if they found out your triggers. Have you seen an actual allergist?
3986919 tn?1352125983 It seems you are really in good hands here - It must be scary to experience an escalating reaction like the one you describe. Do you have something to keep you like an epipen or benadryl or stronger if indeed you need to make that emergency run to ER? I hope so :( I don't know anything about mast cell, but praying you remain in good care. All the best to you today and the coming days, what a journey you are on.
Avatar f tn just as a warning, these type of allergies can cause more severe reactions the more you are exposed, so next time it happens it could be much worse. I would go to a doctor and get an epipen (spelling?). hopefully you will never need it, but it might save your life.
