It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history.
I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
I am 27 weeks pregnancy and have dvt, start to using CLEXANE(ENOXAPARIN) I am really worried is there any harm to my baby

I was wondering what the therapeutic dose generally is to treat bipolar 2? I have been going to my family dr and am on 100 mg of lamictal and 300 mg well Orrin. However I am still very depressed and wondering if this is the right dose?
I still had occasional attacks so my Dr upped my dose to 20 mg. Now I feel tired and nauseous all day. Can I just go back to 10 mg today? I still have them left from before she upped my dose. I don't want to feel sick all day again.
continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done).

So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy.
What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
My 18 year old daughter was almost totally resistant to the repeated rounds of SoluMedrol (5 days each time), so in the last two months, she has been hospitalized twice for PLEX (also called TPE, or Therapeutic Plasma Exchange). Each time, a Shiley catheter was implanted in her right internal jugular vein (neck), and she received 7 every other day Plasma Exchange.
The first round in October, she had spectacular recovery, but that only lasted for 2.5 weeks.
Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.
Hello has any bothy experienced increase in anxiety when they first started zoloft . I took xanax twice last night and I was abled to sleep a few hours. I'm not at my therapeutic dose and won't be until the next 21/2 weeks. Do most people take xanax more frequently to help them get though this?
What is low-dose CMF? My OncoTypeDX was 12 and I am node neg. Estrogen pos progesterone neg Stage one breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy 12/20 and must decide on chemo(low-doseCMF) or not. I know what each drug is, but what is the low-dose part? If it's low-dose, do I really need it? I am going to do hormone therapy for 5 yrs and radiation.
My husband has been on levothyroxine for about 5 years now. His dose has been slowly increased as when blood work was done, it always showed he was hypothyroid. He got up to 200 mcg in Feb. 08 and in August 2008, his blood work was still within normal limits. This was the longest length of time he was ever on a therapeutic dose. Lately he's been complaining of fatigue and joint pain. Nov. 10 he had blood drawn and TSH was 10. His doctor increased his dose from 200 mcg to 300 mcg.
However, we understand that what seems to trigger his is stress binge drinking and missing more then one dose of his medicine. Recently we had to change his doctor to get it closer to where we are. My husband hasnt had a seizure in 2 yrs. But this doctor has determined that my husband's medication needs to be upped.
This is concerning to us because the last time his dose was to high he had mental issues.
My question is about Zoloft and trying to figure out what the therapeutic dose is and how soon I can ask my doctor to increase to get there. I Just completed a SLOW taper of lexapro, while at the time I started a gradual "uphill" taper of the zoloft. So, I came down in dosage on the old med, while at the same time, working UP to a a so called "therapeutic" dose of the zoloft. My doc has transitioned me very slow as I have trouble with the side effects. I worked up to 37.

Have any of you seen the new study out of Johns Hopkins regarding comparing the two Pegs? Apparently they also looked at lowering the dose of ribavirin (and interferon) when anemia occurs and found that actually improved the success rate of SVR when compared to people who toughed it out and stayed with the same dose.
I was floored when I read this and wish I knew enough to know just how good this study really is. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Sulkowski.
re feeling now is what many people feel when an antidepressant is actually at a therapeutic dose. It might pass as you get used to the new dose or it might not -- side effects can be start-up or long-lasting depending on the person. From your description of your life and the dosage you've been on, do you think you actually need medication at all?
