enbrel

Avatar n tn I been having back pain in my upper back seems to be close to ribs in my back. What do you think this could be? It bothers me during the day not much at night. This discussion is related to Mid back pain on right side.
Avatar f tn I am sincerely thinking about just keeping my gallbladder even though it is giving me alot of pain. The pain of the gallbladder is nothing compared to my pain without enbrel. What are your thoughts?
370181 tn?1595629445 I have now been through prednisone, methotrexate, Enbrel, Humara(Humira? sp) then back to Enbrel.......then nothing. The Enbrel worked very well, but I have massive anxiety about the biologics. I just don't trust them and and it's very frustrating. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard spot. On one hand they really do make me feel better, pain and ROM vastly improved.
422104 tn?1209763904 Is the Enbrel working? Did you get sore throat after the first injection? I have sever pain everyday for 11 months straight now,low back down right leg and ankle also my throat always feels swelled and I wheez alot like my lungs are inflamed. Been on pain and inflamation meds and nothing has seemed to work. How soon could you tell a diff. with Enbrel and are you pain free now?
1544019 tn?1318504526 When we started doing IVF treatments to get pregnant, I went off of the Enbrel. For the first two trimesters, my RA seemed to go into remission and I didn't need any treatments - which was a MIRACLE! Now I'm starting my third trimester (I'm 27 weeks) and I am starting to have ALL SORTS of complications with my joints. Pain, swelling, can barely move.
Avatar n tn Shall I just wait this period and suffer through the pain to avoid taking the Enbrel? Although I really need to get back to normal soon because I have studies and work. 3. Will it get worse, better, or stay as it is while I'm waiting for the symptoms to go away? 4. Will I get such symptoms again in the future, if I'm on or off medications? How bad will it be? Is the antigen I have a factor in having Reiter's chronically?

Avatar f tn ve been on Enbrel for about 5 years and it has been an extremely good medication for both the psoriasis and the psoriatic arthritis. My concern is what am I going to do now that my husband is retired and my health insurance won't cover the cost. I live in Canada and the cost of this medication is approximately $22,000.00 a year which my husband's company insurance covered but now that he is retired, it will not cover the cost for my lifetime.
Avatar f tn I am on humira and have had teeth pain eye pain and facial aches for 3 weeks. I even have had fevers. So miserable. Been on antibiotics for a week and still bad!
Avatar f tn He joint pain in her fingers, knees, ankles and shoulders are pretty constant, though she just had an amazing pain-free 3 weeks. It just came back over the weekend, leaving her depressed and frustrated. My point is, the only test that she has tested positive for is HLA-B27, suggesting possible reactive arthritis. What are other diseases she could be suffering from, keeping in mind she has no lower spine pain? Her c-reactive protein spikes with inflammation, naturally.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone. I've been taking Enbrel for about 6 months successfully for my AS. I had to suspend taking it once for a sinus infection, but then I resumed. Now I have poision ivy, and my rheumy's office manager recommends I stop the Enbrel, but for poison ivy that seems extreme. Has anyone had a similar experience, or does anyone have any insights to share on this? Thanks.
Avatar m tn one year of Enbrel injections. Although the Enbrel may have lessened the pain and progression. other side effects and basically an unwell feeling. dizziness. sinusitis. Pain in eyes. If this is as good as it gets. there must be something better. anyone else been here and found something better?
Avatar f tn a month ago I started getting a (very) random stabbing/burning pain in the back of my left leg about 4 inches above my knee. The first time it happened I had been riding in the car for about 2.5 hours (with two stops during the trip). The pain was so bad it dropped me to me knees.I figured it was the long car ride. I have gotten twinges of it since, but today I was waking up and just laying in bed and it happened again. It hurts intermittently for a couple of minutes and then stops.
422104 tn?1209763904 Actually is was helpful, thank you very much. I have been on the Enbrel for 10 weeks now and about 2 weeks ago the pain and stiffness from the AS was markedly improved. I also have ReA ( Reactive Arthritis ) and my hands, knees and toes do not seem to be any better, Like you I cannot tolerate methotrexate at all, it made me severely depressed and suicidal. When I was first dx I was given Ketoprophen which is just a RX anti-inflammatory but it worked wonders for me.
Avatar n tn I was in between jobs and had no insurance and had to stop the Enbrel for 3 weeks, within 2 weeks the pain and stiffness was back worse than ever. The price of Enbrel is $1500.00 monthly so it doesn't surprise me that the insurance company won't give you the 2 a week you need. Talk to your doc about the other 2 drugs and see if they will better help control your pain and stiffness. Keep me posted!
Avatar m tn My dad has been taking Enbrel for several yrs for psoriatic arthritis. I realize this is not the same condition as yours, but it has helped him tremendously!
Avatar n tn My primary physician has taken me off of ant-inflammatory meds because of the danger to the kidneys and told me to take pain meds to control the pain. Pain meds do not control the pain, either over the counter or prescribed and the stiffness in hips and knees and feet is affecting my balance. I asked if continues joint destruction would occur if I stopped the anti-inflammatory meds and he replied "no".
Avatar f tn Granted, we have different types of arthritis, mine being psoriatic arthritis, but I can tell you that I was on Enbrel alone for atleast three years and I had great results with no side effects. For me it was a wonder drug. You may wonder why I would go off something so great...it was a dollars and cents issue. My husband retired and my lifelong coverage of medication was reduced to $100,000. On a medication like Enbrel, I would go through that within 4 to 5 years.
Avatar f tn I have had moderate to severe RA for 5 years. Take Enbrel once a week and am supposed to take 5mg. injectible of methotrexate weekly. I had gone without the methotrexate for at least six months and have not noticed any difference at all. I am scared to death of the methotrexate. Can anyone explain why my doctor wants me to continue it if it does not seem to make a difference? I do great on the Enbrel by itself, but am sure there are reasons, I just don't understand!
Avatar f tn Ya, my joints tend to stiffen and my fingers and toes begin to curl. Full body pain everywhere. Enbrel has been amazing, giving me a 90% normal life almost pain free. I’m scarred because I only have 1 more month supply before I need to refill it. My Employee based Ins copay was 25 bucks for the month. Now I am retired, it’s going to cost me 1,000 dollars a month. The competition does sell versions of it (Remicade and Humira) but those are just as costly. Humira actually would cost me more.
Avatar n tn Hi. I've had RA for 17 years, on Enbrel for the last 8.5. I never wanted to go on MTX because the side effects scare me, and I enjoy a few drinks with friends. A new doctor has put me on it in conjunction with Enbrel because I have couple joints which have been causing me problems. Otherwise, I've been great on Enbrel. I am now in my 3rd week on MTX, and seveal joints are really flaring. I find this very depressing.
Avatar n tn Hi I have been on Enbrel injections for over 4 years and i can't praise the drug enough fantastic results - i have the chance to visit family in Australia for 4 months when i retire in 18 months time the only obstacle is my medication and how would it work with my getting enbrel injections and it is a long flight - is there a solution around this problem

Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Severe RA in 1999 and was prescribed Enbrel. I've been on it 2 times a week since then and have very good luck with it. No side effects and have to take no other medications with it, besides Vicodin when I have a flare up or severe pain. I'll be getting married this October and am curious to know if any woman out there have gotten pregnant and given birth while on Enbrel.
737030 tn?1257659120 Thank you. I apologize for my posting here. After I finished posting, I did realize that it was inappropriate. I gotta say, though. Completely turned off the tramadol. One more question; seems like the majority of you guys (gals) have some degree of pain in your day-to-day lives. How do you deal with it? What do you do? There has to be something. No way should a person live like this in the 21st century.
Avatar f tn Hi rocketship, I took mtx orally for many years and switched to injections within the last two years, along with adding Enbrel. You need a good 3 to 6 months to determine if mtx is going to work for you. I would guess that if you've experienced NO improvement at 5 months, it's time to start questioning your rheumatologist about adjusting dosage or changing meds. Placquenil never did anything for me, so maybe ask about dropping that and replacing it with either Humira or Enbrel.
Avatar n tn Dr mentioned drug resistant bacteria and it was hard to get well last time. Was on IV anti-biotics for several weeks then oral. I use enbrel for RA and have for 6 years. It is all that works for me. Have many drug allergies--sulfa morphine among them. Can't tolerate nsids.or methetrexate.
142722 tn?1281533616 I do not doubt that either of them are in pain but question the need for such a strong pain killer on a daily basis for years at a time. My grandmother used to be a nurse and she always says that there is no reason for people to suffer from pain and that if you won't become dependent on a med if you really need it and take it for the right reasons. I disagree with that.
