Common Questions and Answers about Enablex vs sanctura

enablex

1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn Definitely get your bladder checked for a urinary track infection. I doubt that's the case. What you are describing is exactly how I felt. Peeing once if not more an hour. Pee, stand up, feel like I have more. Incredible urgency to pee. You give in to go and your lucky to pee half a teaspoon, but it felt like you are holding back niagra falls. I have an overactive bladder. You need to cut down all your coffee, pop, tea, alcohol, and spicy food. Drink plenty of water. I know I know.
Avatar f tn t help my problem at all. I am now on Sanctura . . been on it for less than two weeks. I stopped all caffeine drinks about a week ago. I don't know if the Sanctura is helping my problem, or the lack of caffeine in my diet. But, I've been somewhat better. I still have some urgency at times, and I'm ok until I lift heavy packages or bear down to have a bowel movement. Then I feel pressure in the pelvic area, and I feel as if I have to urinate all the time.
Avatar f tn can someone please tell that which medicine works best for OAB ........VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
Avatar f tn On celexa, tried oxybutinin and myrbetriq. Gave me anxiety. Is enablex a good choice? Side effect of celexa was frequent urination. Eneblex only one that didn't cause anxiety, but side effects are bad. Anybody?
Avatar m tn He listed to my symptoms and started prescribing medications. He did a voiding ultrasound, but it seemed to show nothing. We tried Cipro, Detrol, and Enablex. All seemed to help a little, but nothing really fixed the problem. Each medication was taken for a couple months to see if they worked. The last medication, Sanctura, seemed to work the best. I stuck with that for about 6 months, as it made life manageable.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how to describe what I'm feeling or even if it's real or imagined from nervousness. My left side only...leg from about knee down, not feet and my left lower arm/hand feels "weird"...mostly at night when I get in bed and lay to watch t.v. I think my left hand feels weird when I'm typing, not fingers. I have no "pain" , numbness, tingling...just a weird, mild feeling. Sometimes a small shakiness.
Avatar f tn 38-femal. I have always had the constant urination for at least the last 7yrs. I go any where from 20-35 times in a 24hr period. I get up at least twice at night to go. All of my previous doctors always told me to quit drinking a lot of liquids. Despite me arguing that I did not drink any more than 50 oz of liquid a day they did not believe me. I just learned to live with the constant urination, it is not painful, unless I try to hold it in. It does not hurt when I urinate either.
1140169 tn?1370185076 I love it that you have joined the ranks of the rested. The first time I slept through, compliments of Sanctura, I awoke totally refreshed and surprised. It is now my regular habit. Sleep is such a good thing, I'm glad you're getting some!
Avatar m tn this when I had my post op Appt I never truely got an answer then I went back to her she gave me some Enablex that never truely help with the no sensation to urinate nor the having feeling when having sex can some one tell me what is going on?
Avatar n tn I have had several episodes of not being able to make it to the bathroom and have also wet the bed several times. My doctor gave me Enablex and the episodes stopped. I stopped taking Enablex and the bedwetting and not making it to the bathroom happened again. The doctor started me on Vesicore and again the episodes stopped. Have you ever heard of this happening after TUMT? I had the TUMT so that I could stop taking Flomax.
Avatar f tn I did see a urologist last year and he did want me to try Sanctura and I did but I dont believe it helped. He wanted to see me again but I didnt follow through with it.. Would a narrowed urethra cause this problem or could I have a neurogenic bladder? HE didnt do a cystoscopy on me. What tests do I need to have done to figure out what the problem is? ANy help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back, results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
1176711 tn?1265338341 There are also drugs that can be given to help with the bladder - your urologist can help discuss these options too... I have now been on Sanctura for about 6 weeks, and I consider it a miracle drug. The combination of ISC and Sanctura have made my life better in so many ways. When you get the bladder problems under control the problems with hygiene and odors will most likely also resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn I met with the urologist yesterday, and he put me on Sanctura XR while waiting for a cystoscopy to take some biopsies. He believes it may turn out to be interstitial cystitis, based on my symptoms and severe lower abdominal pain that has not been explained by gynocological or gastrointestinal testing. The only catching point is....I'm nauseated. The more my bladder hurts, the more nauseated I get. He wasn't sure if that played into it or not.
1056851 tn?1318720978 I've been on Sanctura for well over a year, with mainly good results. But I have a combined therapy plan of drugs plus the intermittent self-catherization (3-4 times daily) to control a variety of problems. If just the vesicare alone is not doing all the work, you may want to discuss further options that can help. Remember there are a number of different incontinence drugs available and you may have to try more than one before you get the right one for you.
Avatar n tn Elmiron is the only FDA approved drug to treat IC. It rebuilds the mucus layer of the bladder. I also take Enablex for frequency that is pronounced at night! If you think this sounds like you, ask to see a urologist...there are treatments that will make it better...
Avatar m tn My doctor did a urinalysis and it came back negative. He put me on Enablex which has yet to help at all (2 wks. ago). I am at my wits end trying to find a solution for what is going on. In addition to the urination problem, I also have tingling in the scrotum and trouble with the head of the penis retracting inward in an uncomfortable manner. Prior to the surgery, I was totally healthy and had no urological issues. I would be very appreciative for any help. I am getting desperate!
Avatar f tn I went to a Urologist last week and he said it sounded like spasms and gave me Sanctura to try for 3 weeks. I took two doses and felt terrible. It made me very dizzy and sick to my stomach. So I stopped it. I only took 2 doses but it didn't seem to help. The Urologist said if the Sactura didn't help he would look with the scope but didn't think he'd find anything. I had my urine checked there and it was clear of bacteria. I'm at my wits end!
Avatar m tn Acai berry is really no use, if you want an anti-oxidant, go for blueberry just, it's cheap and does the same thing. There is no proven double blind studies showing any use as a therapy.
Avatar n tn The uroligist put me on Enablex which has been working, and I am due to go back in two weeks......yesterday, I started feeling almost swelled up at the opening of the bladder.....I am embaressed to ask, is it possible that my bladder is dropping....it just doesn't feel right, and I don't know if I should just wait for the appointment at the uroligist, or call the gynecoligist?
Avatar m tn The urologist and the doc both told me to take Sanctura XR. I took it for about 3 weeks, but it was quite useless and worthless. So i stop taking it. In addition, it seems as though alot of major movements may instigated, and sometimes sitting down may instigate it, but its all 50/50 and not 100percent there. As mention before, towards the late evenings, the problem decreases. So last month i went on without any ejeculation for 3 1/2 weeks straight.
Avatar n tn She put me on antibiotics and gave me enablex and detrol (neither which have worked). I went back in for a recheck and the repeat urinalysis was exactly the same as before. Doctor sent the sample out to a lab to see if it was bacterial related and I was told that I did not have an infection. She set me up with a ultrasound of the right kidney and it came back normal. OKay so now (as in the past) I have had intermittent right flank pain.
Avatar m tn I sent you an e-mail today hopefully you got it. I would encourage you though if not to go to our MOARK IC website and get the article on the vaginal suppositories etc. If you need the direct link please pm me if I have not already sent it to you!
