Enablex vs detrol

Common Questions and Answers about Enablex vs detrol

enablex

Avatar f tn Hello sam11101, All the three medications- VESICARE, ENABLEX OR DETROL LA are equally good drugs. However, I would recommend Detrol LA as it is the relatively more established drug in terms of safety and efficacy. The following facts would help you. DETROL LA Capsules contain tolterodine tartrate. The active moiety, tolterodine, is a muscarinic receptor antagonist. The recommended dose of DETROL LA Capsules are 4 mg daily. DETROL LA should be taken once daily with liquids and swallowed whole.
Avatar n tn She put me on antibiotics and gave me enablex and detrol (neither which have worked). I went back in for a recheck and the repeat urinalysis was exactly the same as before. Doctor sent the sample out to a lab to see if it was bacterial related and I was told that I did not have an infection. She set me up with a ultrasound of the right kidney and it came back normal. OKay so now (as in the past) I have had intermittent right flank pain.
Avatar n tn I have been on this for 6 months without significant change. For two months Detrol LA was added without any change in my symptoms either. Now I have been given Enablex 7.5 mg and after a week I am still waking up every 2 hours with the sensation of pressure in my bladder. I am very frustrated and would appreciate any suggestions.
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn More fuel for the fire, but 2 32oz bottles a day or you will get dehydrated on the medicine I am about to recommend. For me, Detrol LA, Vesicare, Enablex didn't do anything for me.They helped, but not fully or it gave up entirely on me. The miracle pill that worked for me is Sanctura XR. It is expensive. $100 via mail order for a 3 month bottle. It really works. 92% of the OAB is gone if not more. Problem is the side effects are common. For me, I have every side effect.
Avatar f tn On celexa, tried oxybutinin and myrbetriq. Gave me anxiety. Is enablex a good choice? Side effect of celexa was frequent urination. Eneblex only one that didn't cause anxiety, but side effects are bad. Anybody?
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how to describe what I'm feeling or even if it's real or imagined from nervousness. My left side only...leg from about knee down, not feet and my left lower arm/hand feels "weird"...mostly at night when I get in bed and lay to watch t.v. I think my left hand feels weird when I'm typing, not fingers. I have no "pain" , numbness, tingling...just a weird, mild feeling. Sometimes a small shakiness.
Avatar f tn I was told detrol or other meds to help incontinence would not help with stress incontinence. Thank you. It is a very big and embarrising problem for me. I am single and in my mid 40's. I have read about this injection that can be administered but at this time I do not have insurance am I am unable to afford it.
Avatar m tn He listed to my symptoms and started prescribing medications. He did a voiding ultrasound, but it seemed to show nothing. We tried Cipro, Detrol, and Enablex. All seemed to help a little, but nothing really fixed the problem. Each medication was taken for a couple months to see if they worked. The last medication, Sanctura, seemed to work the best. I stuck with that for about 6 months, as it made life manageable.
Avatar n tn Hi, My doctor had tried me on Vesicare but the side effects out weight the benefits. I was given Buscopan and Detrol LA to cope with bladder problems. I had a lot of problems with pain spasms and urgency. The Buscopan and Detrol LA help but in a case where I have severe pain, I now use Morphine.
Avatar f tn My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).
Avatar f tn My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either. I am continuing to urinate 20-30 times a day. Sitting also makes it worse. Please help. I cannot continue to live like this. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/912656'>Urinary Urgency/Frequency/Incontinence</a>.
Avatar f tn I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? I dont want to live with this, making me very upset. I appreciate it and thanks.
Avatar m tn this when I had my post op Appt I never truely got an answer then I went back to her she gave me some Enablex that never truely help with the no sensation to urinate nor the having feeling when having sex can some one tell me what is going on?
Avatar m tn ve been having to urinate a lot during the night, at least 2-3 times. I talked to my primary care and he put me on some Detrol, which I tried for a few days and it did not help. Blood tests showed kidney function was fine..but what could be causing the frequent urination? I only take fish oil and multivitamins. Medical history that I have is cervical stenosis also have herniated discs in the back as well. I am a drinker but have been sober for the past month.
Avatar f tn Okay, none of this sounds right. Toothpaste? That's a sensitive area for that. Especially when it is already agitated. The Detrol can burn you as you say. It's going to have to heal. Wash it daily and leave it alone. Don't put toothpaste on it. And consider going ahead and seeing your doctor. No, bathing is not bad for it.
Avatar m tn Go get tested for a urinary tract infection. They affect everyone differently. Then ask your doctor about Detrol if it continues to happen. I hope you feel better.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure, but have you (or has he) checked with his cardiologist? If so, what does he/she say? Hope the move goes well and you enjoy your new home!
Avatar n tn I have had several episodes of not being able to make it to the bathroom and have also wet the bed several times. My doctor gave me Enablex and the episodes stopped. I stopped taking Enablex and the bedwetting and not making it to the bathroom happened again. The doctor started me on Vesicore and again the episodes stopped. Have you ever heard of this happening after TUMT? I had the TUMT so that I could stop taking Flomax.
Avatar f tn The urogynecologist said there is no fistula, but rather her bladder has become over active because of the hysterectomy and the sling procedure. She also said that it is a temporary condition, but put her on Detrol. Her condition had not improved. In fact, it seems to be worse. Has anyone else developed an over active bladder after a hysterectomy?
Avatar n tn I now use Detrol LA and Buscopan to combat these spasms. It does not get rid of them but it does dull the intensity.
Avatar f tn he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back, results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
Avatar n tn I worked for a urologist and we used a TENS unit type treatment called Uroplasty, that stimulates the tibial nerve with aids with bladder control. Detrol LA is also the highest recommended urinary incontinence treatment by physicians. Hope this helps a little.
Avatar f tn I am taking Detrol to control the urinary urgency. I was getting up several times at night also and it really is an annoying problem. Here is the medication typically prescribed for your condition: http://www.medicinenet.com/pentosan/article.htm http://www.ichelp.org/ I hope you can get some relief soon. Take care of yourself.
641819 tn?1240325930 ago, and now it seems to have eased up a bit. I keep Detrol on hand to use on the few days I have to go to work in the a.m. (as the bathroom is quite a bit aways). Mine is like you describe...a great urge and then a tinkle when I do go or sometimes a drop. If it gets worse or you can't take it, try the Detrol for a while and see if that will help you. I keep liners handy every day. Hope you can get some relief from this. I know how frustrating it is.
Avatar f tn to treatments: anticholinergics (Detrol, Oxybutinin, Vesicare for bladder issues)
