Common Questions and Answers about Enablex vs ditropan

enablex

1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar f tn can someone please tell that which medicine works best for OAB ........VESICARE,ENABLEX OR DETROL LA..........I m male and 29 yrs old ,can i also take detrol la.....Any response should be highly appreciated..........
Avatar m tn My urologist prescribed Ditropan, which I took for about a year, which helped at first. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***.
Avatar f tn I have started Ditropan XL 5mg HS without any change in the droplets. Any ideas as to what I should or could try next? My urologist thinks my sxs are overactive bladder. How can this be resolved?
Avatar f tn On celexa, tried oxybutinin and myrbetriq. Gave me anxiety. Is enablex a good choice? Side effect of celexa was frequent urination. Eneblex only one that didn't cause anxiety, but side effects are bad. Anybody?
Avatar f tn I have had total bladdure failure and have taken Detrol and Ditropan with no good result. I am seeing the ururologist tomorrow and am worried that he will chalk this up to MS and tell me to live with it. Have any of you experienced this? Are there other remedies out there for this? I dont want to live with this, making me very upset. I appreciate it and thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi, You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent. Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how to describe what I'm feeling or even if it's real or imagined from nervousness. My left side only...leg from about knee down, not feet and my left lower arm/hand feels "weird"...mostly at night when I get in bed and lay to watch t.v. I think my left hand feels weird when I'm typing, not fingers. I have no "pain" , numbness, tingling...just a weird, mild feeling. Sometimes a small shakiness.
Avatar m tn The Hyperhydrosis can be treated with Ditropan or its generic. A colleague took this on an as needed basis during stressful instances and he said it worked well. However, I don't think its related to the three other challenges you face: dandruff, eczema, and tinnitus. Each of these show signs of some underlying allergies. There are skin allergy tests, blood (RAST) tests, and elimination tests.
Avatar m tn this when I had my post op Appt I never truely got an answer then I went back to her she gave me some Enablex that never truely help with the no sensation to urinate nor the having feeling when having sex can some one tell me what is going on?
Avatar n tn On Aug. 16, 08 I took my 3yr old daughter in because she said her pee hurts. After doing a urinalysis it showed that she had an elevated wbc so they put her on amoxicillen she remained on that for 10 days. On the 7th day of the amox. she went back to have a repeat urinalysis when those test results came back it showed that the amox. wasn't working. So the Dr. prescribed Septra on Aug.25th She remained on that for 10 days. On the fourth day off the Septra the "bad pee" was back.
Avatar n tn I have had several episodes of not being able to make it to the bathroom and have also wet the bed several times. My doctor gave me Enablex and the episodes stopped. I stopped taking Enablex and the bedwetting and not making it to the bathroom happened again. The doctor started me on Vesicore and again the episodes stopped. Have you ever heard of this happening after TUMT? I had the TUMT so that I could stop taking Flomax.
Avatar f tn he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back, results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
Avatar f tn There is also Elavil a low dose tricyclic antidepressant that takes away pain if you have alot of pain and drugs like ditropan xl which relax the bladder and cut down on frequency/urgency/some discomfort and pain. I think a combination of these drugs usually gives people quite a bit of relief and also following the IC diet which you'll find at that website too. I don't think I have IC but probably overactive bladder and the ditropan xl has helped alot!
Avatar n tn Elmiron is the only FDA approved drug to treat IC. It rebuilds the mucus layer of the bladder. I also take Enablex for frequency that is pronounced at night! If you think this sounds like you, ask to see a urologist...there are treatments that will make it better...
Avatar m tn My doctor did a urinalysis and it came back negative. He put me on Enablex which has yet to help at all (2 wks. ago). I am at my wits end trying to find a solution for what is going on. In addition to the urination problem, I also have tingling in the scrotum and trouble with the head of the penis retracting inward in an uncomfortable manner. Prior to the surgery, I was totally healthy and had no urological issues. I would be very appreciative for any help. I am getting desperate!

Its so hard! we did diapers for awhile which she loved because she didnt have to go through everyone knowing what she did. Today is the first day in over a month that she has gone to school without a diaper!!
Avatar m tn Did you ever find the right medication for your overactive bladder? I am now on Sanctura. I'm almost finished with the two week trial. When I was first diagnosed with this problem, my doctor didn't think I had to change my lifestyle at all. I asked him about coffee in the morning, and he said go ahead and have a cup. It shouldn't matter.
Avatar f tn I have already tried Detrol and Ditropan. Each one for two weeks. They didn't help my problem at all. I am now on Sanctura . . been on it for less than two weeks. I stopped all caffeine drinks about a week ago. I don't know if the Sanctura is helping my problem, or the lack of caffeine in my diet. But, I've been somewhat better. I still have some urgency at times, and I'm ok until I lift heavy packages or bear down to have a bowel movement.
Avatar f tn s syndrome). He takes Ditropan daily and self-catheterizes five times a day. We are interested in finding out more about biofeedback. Does anyone have any experience with or information on biofeedback for on neurogenic neurogenic bladder?
Avatar n tn He claims that he does not even feel that he is a bit wet. I have taken him to the doctor and had him tested for everything. His doctor put him on Ditropan. I did not use it because he stoped wetting his pants. Now He is wetting at school everday. I do not know what to do. The school wants him in pull ups and he refuses to go to school if I put one on him. The doctor said to give him the medicine but i dont think that he needs it because this just comes and goes.
Avatar m tn Acai berry is really no use, if you want an anti-oxidant, go for blueberry just, it's cheap and does the same thing. There is no proven double blind studies showing any use as a therapy.
Avatar f tn Sometimes anticholinergic medications like oxybutynin (ditropan), detrol or vesicare may help. Please consult your doctor, he will prescribe appropriate medications for you. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn My daughter has suffered from this giggle incontinence since very young. She is getting ready to go to college, however, this condition has gotten so bad I don't think she can leave home. It is a daily occurance. It controls our lives. I have to work nights to be home to answer calls from school, take clothes, or be home (per school policy) when she leaves. It kills her when this happens. We have tried Ditropan, anaspaz (sp?), and Ritalin. NOthing worked. I'm at wits end.
