Avatar n tn Are you saying the TUMT probably doesn't have anything to do with the overactive bladder?
Avatar m tn I went to a urologist who said I have an inf inflamed testicular cyst on the right side and possibly a case of low grade epididymitis bilaterally. He also said most likely have overactive bladder. Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal.

Avatar m tn “In people with an overactive bladder (OAB), the layered, smooth muscle that surrounds the bladder (detrusor muscle) contracts spastically, sometimes without a known cause, which results in sustained, high bladder pressure and the urgent need to urinate (called urgency).” “A malfunctioning detrusor muscle causes overactive bladder.
Avatar n tn I had a bladder ultrasound for some pain and found out that my bladder does not empty completely. What does that mean?! What symptoms does this cause and how is this treated?!
Avatar m tn I do have a sleep apnea problem, and have needed antibiotics for bladder infection last month and the month before. My doctor gave me Omnic Tocas to relax the prostrate but it doesn't reduce the frequency. During the day I have been rather normal until recently, but lying flat in bed triggers it. Have you heard of a case like mine? It has slowly become worse in the last 30 years.
5509293 tn?1428531475 The VA did a Urodynamic test for my bladder and found that as soon as any liquid entered my bladder it would start to spasm (contracting). At least in my case I had great results in helping this problem with TROSPIUM, though after about 2 years had to stop taking it due to weak stream. It has been almost a year since I stopped taking it and my bladder problem is starting to return again.
Avatar f tn Definitely get your bladder checked for a urinary track infection. I doubt that's the case. What you are describing is exactly how I felt. Peeing once if not more an hour. Pee, stand up, feel like I have more. Incredible urgency to pee. You give in to go and your lucky to pee half a teaspoon, but it felt like you are holding back niagra falls. I have an overactive bladder. You need to cut down all your coffee, pop, tea, alcohol, and spicy food. Drink plenty of water. I know I know.
Avatar m tn About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with an overactive bladder after doing all the tests. I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back.
Avatar f tn So I have an overactive bladder that came from giving birth to my first 2 kids. It caused my bladder to lower and have pressure. and being pregnant my doctor said I couldn't take antibiotics. So I really going to h.eck trying to deal with an over active bladder which makes me urinate every half hour, plus the pregnancy that also makes me urinate even more. So I literally go to the restroom every 15 min. I'm so frustrated by it I wanna cry.
Avatar m tn In summary, results of tests were a slightly enlarged prostate and in his opinion, an overactive bladder to be treated with Enablex. He did not seem concerned with my prostate. Here's my problem. I am still having general urethra discomfort and persistent need to urinate but often without the ability to urinate. This has been going on ever since my initial UTI symptoms in mid-November and it's driving me crazy. I did suspect HSV but you put that to rest.
Avatar m tn I have polyuria and nocturia, but my bladder is hypotonic (bladder capacity normal). I think I have mild diabetes insipidus. In tests my nocturnal urine volume was about 1.5 liters (up to 5 times of urination).
Avatar f tn m wondering if my doctor could prescribe something to help with my overactive bladder so I could keep taking the Lexapro or if I should just take something else instead. Lexapro is good in ways because it produces fewer side effects than any other SSRI med that I've tried and I've tried many of them. What do you think?
Avatar m tn I just read your post about Atrial Fib and meds for overactive bladder. I have Atrial Fib, and my doctor wanted to prescribe Vesicare. I read up on this med, and found it could cause irregular heartbeats. This makes me nervous. What medication are you currently taking for the bladder problem? Is it working for you, and does it cause a problem with the heart? I would like to hear from you since I'm right in the middle of trying to find the right med.
Avatar f tn I am a 21 year old female and have had bladder issues (pressure, urgency, nocturia, urethra burning/squeezing feeling, difficulty urinating) for two years that won't go away and seemed to have begun after I became sexually active. At first, the doctors thought it was a UTI but the antibiotics stopped working after a while. I've been to numerous doctors (PCP, urologist, OBGYN, gastroenterologist, neurologist, chiropractor) and had many, many tests - yet no one can figure out the problem.
Avatar f tn i m 29 yrs old and , i am having frequent urination problem for 3 years, about 4 months ago,i went to pcp ,he sent me for sonogram of my kidney and bladder and also for chest x-ray,the results came out negative and my urine and blood was also fine, then i went to urologist' he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then
Avatar n tn HI, You sound like you have the classic symptoms of overactive bladder. Overactive bladder (OAB) is driven by the strong ugency to urinate. It commonly causes urinary frequency and many patients get up at night to void. About a thrid of overactive bladder patients can't make it to the toilet and leak urine on the way.
147426 tn?1317265632 She thinks my problem with the epic flooding is big-time Overactive bladder, messed up with a spastic urethra. Residual is slowly climbing. She is giving me Enablex, and wants to repeat Urodynamic Tesing next week off of the med. So, three errands on the way home, left my glasses in the pharmacy, too tired to walk back into the store drove home squinting and am home and pooped. Back later post-nap.
Avatar n tn HI, It sounds like you had two problems that resulted in the bedwetting episode. First, it sounds like you have overactive bladder. Overactive bladder symptoms are urinary urgency, frequency and sometimes getting up at night to void. 5% of 25 yr olders have overactive bladder. You either have a structurally small bladder or its a functional problem where low volumes of urine in your bladder trigger the urge to void. Patients with overactive bladder "tend to urinate frequently".
Avatar f tn Over the course of the year I avoided acidic food and drink and took various herbs known to soothe the bladder which slowly seemed to get rid of it. Since then I just seem to get an overactive/irritated bladder after a glass of red wine or my bladder feels irritated if I drink a ginger-based smoothie or something else like that.
Avatar m tn Kegel exercises are best for bladder control, and there are some bladder control products available at market which you can try it.
