Avatar m tn Man i live here i know there is huge difference in health diagnostic equipment things here are of poor quality standard. For example i was tested with intec hiv 1&2 test kit and this kit is not even approved in china where it is manufactured.
Avatar n tn An ELISA test is an approved test. You can believe your negative result.
Avatar m tn Greetings, I have ordered an HIV rapid test kit. I understand these home rapid test kits has the HIV antigen embedded in the capture pad, which then will react if an HIV antibody was found in the blood sample. When I pricked my finger, I coudn't get enough blood in so I kind of touched the capture/sample pad a little bit. I'm afraid of HIV exposure after learning that the pad contains the HIV antigen.
Avatar m tn and how does the AFA here in singapore conclude that a 3 months post exposure test is conclusive if they are using the above test kit which cannot able to detect HIV-1 subtypes H,J,K? Can you pls give me some inputs on this issue.. You can confirm this fact on its product catalogue.
Avatar n tn You can trust this test. They call this as SPOT ELISA kit.
Avatar n tn I went to Singapore medical institution and was done 6 times HIV antibody test by Alere Determine HIV 1/2 with figer tip blood. The test time respectively were 4, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 20 weeks after that exposure. And all the result were negative. So far I am not out of the HIV fear. Because the following 3 points: 1st, I am a very healthy person. But the suspected symptoms appeared after the exposure. 2nd, The Singapore medical institution only provide the rapid test.
Avatar f tn I am a 29 year old female, my possible exposure was over 18 months ago, i recently tested myself using a home self testing kit called EZ Trust Rapid HIV Test Kit (manufacturer is CS Innovations Singapore, product commonly sold by Labpro and Nexus Laboratories). I live in Sydney Australia so i do not have access to the FDA approved Home Access.
Avatar n tn On the day 15th, I did a pcr dna test (Roche) in Singapore and the outcome not detected (negetive). After that I did Elisa antibody test (generation of test not known but the lab claim that Singapore always use most recent test) on week 4, 6 and 8 and all returned negetive. I understand under CDC and FDA, 12 weeks is conclusive but still feel anxious everyday. Each day for me is like a year. Just hope somebody or expert can provide me to what extend can I rely on my test result?
Avatar f tn Thank u for the reply Mike but what about the period from exposure for the conclusive results by that Test?
Avatar m tn antibody non-reactive, was there elisa no.4?
Avatar n tn t be reliable at all nor would any other test. 3 months dude is when you need to take your test and get a conclusive test result. If you want to do a Home Access test. Then do it at three months send it in and your results will be conclusive.
Avatar m tn Hi Teak and all seniors, kindly please answer my simple question, a million thanks to u all.. i tested negative by using a home test kit 14 weeks after possible exposure, bought from this webpage http://www.****.com.my/, do i need to go for ELISA / Western block test for conformation? Thanks Thanks..
Avatar m tn This may not be the best place to ask this t I wondered if anyone knew this one. When a lab is testing your blood for HIV. Do they use the same Elisa assay kit (tray) to test multiple people at the same time? Or is it 1 kit to 1 person?
Avatar n tn 5 months post exposure and i had a negative elisa test in singapore. Another month later i got a chest infection and very swollen occipital lymph nodes down one side of my head. DR tested me again for hiv which was again negative (this was elisa test too. 3.
Avatar f tn Does Home access kit use Elisa? I will ask doctor to do West blot.
