Elidel sun

Common Questions and Answers about Elidel sun

elidel

Avatar m tn I saw my ENT doc which is very good and he notices I have redness on my face (cheeks), he recommended me to try Elidel. Today I am using Rozex and it helps and prevent Flares but still there is some redness. I am now 6 weeks post EOT, UND and hope to stay UND. Someone has experience with Elidel ? Can it cause any problem to the liver or to the treatement ?
Avatar m tn Today I use Rozex Gel 1% which looks fair for maintenance but does not eliminate the redness, sometime I use Elidel for 102 days, I am affraid to use Elidel because I heard 2 docs telling it can cause cancer, but Elidel evidently remove the redness from the face. Any advice from the lovely people here in this forum will be deeply appericiated.
Avatar m tn Sometimes it may be permanent and is very difficult to treat but sometimes it goes away on its own after exposure to the sun. Creams like Elidel cream or Protropic can be used on these hypopigmented areas but at such a young age it is not advisable to use them . If the symptoms still persist then you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).

Avatar m tn t it matter when treatment is started in relation to how/when it is cured? 2) Is Elidel more effective in treating dermatitis than EpiCeram or other prescription skin barrier creams or not? Would Elidel work to cure dermatitis faster or better than EpiCeram or 'vice versa'? 3) Is Elidel safe to use on the penis skin and how long would I expect it to take to see results? In comparison how long would it likely take for EpiCeram to cure dermatitis on the penis? .

Avatar m tn ive been waiting for my white scar to go away for atleast 7 months, and im not seeing any progress, ive used cocoa butter, mederma, and now im barley starting to use sun light with aloe vera sunblock 45 spf. will the sun help me if i continue exposure with this sunblock, i want my scar to turn brown to blend in with my skin, i dont want it to become to dark, but dark enough.
Avatar f tn I had tried everything under the sun anti-fungals, steroids, everything. I was prescribed silver sulferdizine (spelling?) and that had cleared my symptoms for a month then it came back. Then recently I was given elidel to see if that would work. It had cleared up the red pinpoint pimple looking marks on my inner thigh and relieved the reddness on my scrotum for a while, however 3 weeks ago it flared up again and the elidel doesnt seem to help.
Avatar m tn It was all over my body including my penis. I was prescribed Elidel and after using it it went away. But this winter i had a little eczema come back but not near as worse as last year.... but there was red rashes of dry skin on my penis and it wouldnt ever go away... and i didnt have elidel. Now it is pretty much gone but there is a strange whitish scaly look right where the head of my penis starts from the shaft. Any idea if this is eczema or should i be concerned of something else?

Avatar n tn Keep getting staph infections from the issue, have taken antibiotics doxicyclin, bactrim ds, and famvir for viral, used cortisones creams, elidel creams, yeast/fungal cream, vaseline, taken vitamins, oral predisone. Nothing is wokring. My lips get sore, dry , start to get little bumps on them, gets a little crusty, gets inflamed and irritated. Tests have been done for autoimmune diseases, Thyroid, blood work, all seems to be negative.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis by a dermatologist and precribed Elidel or (pimecrolimus cream). I was told that Elidel does not have the side effects associated with topical steroid creams such as skin thinning and discoloration. This was necessary since the area affected is right on the skin around the meatus of my penis. Anyways, I used the Elidel for almost 12 days (twice a day) without any significant results, so I stopped.
Avatar f tn After a month i broke out with atopic dermatitis again but this time it was red itchy bumps so she gave me elidel to use for 3 and a half months.. Whenever i stop elidel there are itchy pimple like rash on my cheeks with a little whithead that is tiny but oozes fluid! Is that a withdrawal from elidel?!!

Avatar m tn Okay thanks, so then how long would you expect it to normally take for EpiCeram to work and completely clear the dermatitis, before I should turn to the Elidel? How about the Elidel?
Avatar n tn Mostly it goes away on its own after exposure to the sun. Creams like Elidel cream or Protropic can be used on these hypopigmented areas but at such a young age it is not advisable to use them . It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

Avatar m tn It seems as though my condition has improved somewhat, but not completely and I am wondering whether or not I should try the Elidel now since I want to get this resolved faster! So I want to know if Elidel is really safe for the penis skin, since on the instructions it says not to get in eyes, vagina, mouth or rectum. Okay, so what happens if some gets down into my urethra since the area I am treating is right on my meatus (skin at pee-hole opening)?
Avatar n tn Okay, I know what Elidel is and that it is a non-steroidal treatment to dermatitis. However, I want to know if it thins the skin at all, to any extent? I read on the internet from multiple websites, that TCI's do not cause skin thinning or the side effects associated with steroid ointments, which is why it's usually used. However, one website stated that Elidel does not thin the skin "as much as" steroid creams do! So which is it for sure?
Avatar n tn I have read that Elidel can possibly help to reverse skin atrophy, and definitely does not cause any itself. Is this true, & how so? If not, then what effect would Elidel have on thin skin that has suffered atrophy from the use of strong topical steroid creams?
Avatar m tn thank you both I do remember getting the UVB narrowband before while I was taking the Elidel, for some reason I had stopped taking the Elidel and now I'm taking it again but I haven't had the UVB lately, I will ask them to use both of them again b/c my skin cleared up a lil bit when they did both.
