Elidel and rosacea

Common Questions and Answers about Elidel and rosacea

elidel

Avatar m tn I have Rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis also. But Elidel is for Eczema not Rosacea. Maybe he was using it off label for you? It does have some long term potential side effects. I would get another opinion. You may be getting rebound from going off of it. I am not sure if this drug does that. Cortisone definitely does. I use azaleic acid topical. It has worked for me for a long time. It is a prescription. You can also try low dose Doxycycline.
Avatar m tn During Tx I got Rosacea, now I know that before Tx I had Seborea and during the Tx it gor worsen and I got Rosacea, the Rosacea during Tx was much more severe then it is now. Rozex doesn't help, many times I have redness on the T zone on my face, the only thing that help is a little bit Elidel. Does anyone here familiar with that, I mean - to get Rosacea during Tx, does it become better after Tx ? Is it curable? Any experience with Elidel or any other medication for Rosacea ?
493068 tn?1224765315 At the end of treatment the psoriasis receded and I definitely had rosacea on face and perhaps the neck although I had mutliple diagnosis re the neck. The rosacea on the face was very sensitive to the sun and just about anything else. At one point I had to limit almost all irritants including water and only use cetaphil cleanser (waterless) and cetaphil moisturizer.

Avatar m tn Hi, I am 18 and For 18 months i've had pretty consistent problems with skin on my face, i've been to 4 doctors and one dermatologist who all suggest that it's either Eczema or Seborheic Eczema (sp?). i've been given 3 prescription creams over the 18months which are, Daktacort, Elidel and Protopic 0.03%. The problem is i have redness on both cheeks and the central area of my forehead.
Avatar f tn Then I went to see another doctor and he prescribed Elidel and it worked great but then it came out with the black box warning label so I had to stop using it because once I stop for many days everything comes out again. I went to another dermatologist and she said that I have rosecea and I started 7 days ago with a rosecea treatment. I feel like I want to die because those little pimples on my forehead and also the dryness and burnign sensation makes me want to cut my head off.
Avatar n tn I was on it for 34 days and now am tapering off of it. I have not used the cream for 2 days but last night my face was a little flushed. I do not have rosacea, but is redness after stopping a topical steroid cream normal? I plan to use it every 3 days, then every 4, every 5 and then stop. Does that sound like a good tapering schedule or should I just stop cold turkey? I do know that topical steroids used for a prolonged period of time is not good.
Avatar m tn I was using elidel(1yr) and analpram(5yrs), pramosone(1yr) and lately nystatin(last one year) for the anal hemmoriods. I was using olux foam(4yrs), extina(1yr) for the scalp irregularities. I do lot of scratching on the anal area and the scalp, due to which these medications regularly mix with the blood and I used to have heavy bleeding due to the scratching. I know that these medicines have steroids. I used analpram from 1998 and that was for five years.
Avatar m tn Hello, It is true that topical steroids are not without side effects but it is more son with high potency steroids and long term use of steroids. It can cause skin thinning, atrophy, steroid induced rosacea and telangiectasia as its side effects. You can discuss your concerns with your dermatologist and then start with the treatment. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I saw my ENT doc which is very good and he notices I have redness on my face (cheeks), he recommended me to try Elidel. Today I am using Rozex and it helps and prevent Flares but still there is some redness. I am now 6 weeks post EOT, UND and hope to stay UND. Someone has experience with Elidel ? Can it cause any problem to the liver or to the treatement ?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis by a dermatologist and precribed Elidel or (pimecrolimus cream). I was told that Elidel does not have the side effects associated with topical steroid creams such as skin thinning and discoloration. This was necessary since the area affected is right on the skin around the meatus of my penis. Anyways, I used the Elidel for almost 12 days (twice a day) without any significant results, so I stopped.
Avatar m tn I am having the anal condition from 1998 and then the scalp condition from 2000. I was using elidel(1 yr) and analpram(5 years), pramosone(1yr) and lately nystatin(last one year) for the anal hemmoriods. I was using olux foam(4 yrs), extina(1yr) for the scalp irregularities. I do lot of scratching on the anal area and the scalp, due to which these medications regularly mix with the blood. Because I used to have heavy bleeding due to the scratching and itching.
Avatar f tn After a month i broke out with atopic dermatitis again but this time it was red itchy bumps so she gave me elidel to use for 3 and a half months.. Whenever i stop elidel there are itchy pimple like rash on my cheeks with a little whithead that is tiny but oozes fluid! Is that a withdrawal from elidel?!!
Avatar m tn I have dermatitis on an area of my body where the skin is already naturally thin(genitals) and am not interested in using steroid creams, so my doctor prescribed elidel. After researching it and finding out that it has a black box warning, I also asked for a prescription for EpiCeram which I am currently using and have used for almost a month now.
Avatar m tn Today I recived ALT 5 months post Tx and ALT = 54, it was 38 at 4 months post Tx and 61 at 1 month post Tx, it was also 372 before Tx. Can it mean that the virus is back ? I am worried.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Elidel, however at first I was concerned with the black box warning and asked my doctor for a prescription skin barrier cream instead called EpiCeram to try first. Anyways, I have used the EpiCeram for a couple months along with a penis vitamin cream call Man 1 Man Oil and Emu Oil also. It seems as though my condition has improved somewhat, but not completely and I am wondering whether or not I should try the Elidel now since I want to get this resolved faster!
Avatar n tn I have read that Elidel can possibly help to reverse skin atrophy, and definitely does not cause any itself. Is this true, & how so? If not, then what effect would Elidel have on thin skin that has suffered atrophy from the use of strong topical steroid creams?
Avatar n tn Okay, I know what Elidel is and that it is a non-steroidal treatment to dermatitis. However, I want to know if it thins the skin at all, to any extent? I read on the internet from multiple websites, that TCI's do not cause skin thinning or the side effects associated with steroid ointments, which is why it's usually used. However, one website stated that Elidel does not thin the skin "as much as" steroid creams do! So which is it for sure?
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with dermatitis by a local dermatologist and he prescribed me a topical medication called "Elidel", since he didn't think steroid creams were appropriate for the area of body that I am treating which has thin skin. Anyways, I have been using the Elidel for about 10 days now, and have NOT seen any noticable difference in my skin condition.
