Common Questions and Answers about Eczema on palms of hand

eczema

Avatar n tn Dyshidrosis is a less common eczema which only occurs on palms, soles, and sides of fingers and toes. Tiny opaque bumps called vesicles, thickening, and cracks are accompanied by itching which gets worse at night. A common type of hand eczema, it worsens in warm weather. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), applied to the affected areas. It could also be a fungal infection in which case you may have to apply OTC anti-fungal ointments.
Avatar m tn The only thing that comes to mind is that there are different types of eczema. That's definitely not the kind I have, though. I'm not sure what else it might be. As far as that one goes, it wouldn't hurt to look up "foods to avoid with eczema" or "eczema diet" or words similar to that. That doesn't really look like eczema, but the eczema diet might help.
Avatar m tn The only reason it was able to be diagnosed is because for the first time ever I got small bumps/blisters on my right hand, previously it had only ever been on my feet and is apparently way more common on hands than feet and presents in a specific way. Dyshidrosis can be quite mild from a few blisters (usually in warmer weather) to hands and feet being completely covered. I was prescribed a steroid cream n no longer have any issues. See below copied from a site.
Avatar f tn The rash is spurious and spotted throughout the palm of my hand. They are a bunch of tiny red dots that sometimes hurt when I contort my hand a certain way or apply pressure to them upon inspection. I have no ideas what this could be. I have compared images via internet and browser multiple forums to come up with no definite answers. I would attach a picture but I do not know how (if i can please advise/assist and I will).
Avatar n tn During remissions, it is important to preserve intact skin barrier function by moisturizing skin with one of hypoallergenic hand creams available on market (no perfumes, carefully selected active and other ingredients). Wishing You Optimal Health, Dr.
Avatar m tn Hello. Yesterday, I noticed a cluster of very small blisters on my palms. They're so small that you need to either run your finger over them to feel them, or see them in just the right light. They do not itch or are red. I freaked out a little because I'm a person who worries and over-reacts to everything. I did some online research and found topics such as herpes, eczema, and some others.
Avatar m tn It started on my index finder in 2002 and now my entire palm and in between fingers i get them occassionaly, if this is contagious it should be on my other hand, face and any part of my bosy i touch, but now im concerned because looks like my 5 yr old austistic son has it on both hands. I can deal with it as i break out rarely. One doc said stress but she was not the best dr ive worked with. Anyone find a creme or solution?
Avatar m tn The only thing that is surprising me as well as doctors is that it primarily occurs on the BACK of his hands and front forearm, not really much his my palms. The way he has described it to me is it feels like a bubble starts somewhere deep in my hand and then pushes its way to the top, which will form a blister / lesion. Has anyone out there had something similar? Were there some type of blood tests or other types of tests that can more carefully narrow down what exactly he might have?
Avatar f tn For as long as I have been in the career the palms of my hands get dry and completely peel. I have tried products after products and nothing seems to work. I am currently using Eucerin dry skin therapy plus intensive repair lotion, Ive even so far as gone to taking a little bottle along with me to work, its the only product that seems to help the most. But even with this my palms still peel atleast every week, theres no pain, swelling, itching or redness, just peeling.
Avatar n tn You probably have an allergy or contact dermatitis that is causing your palms to itch. Tinea manum (ringworm of hand) or scabies are other causes. Contact dermatitis could be due to anything that your hands come in contact with. You must get an allergy test done, either a skin test or RAST, to know what you are allergic to. Well, itchy palms with tiny white blisters could be eczema or it could be viral in origin—as a part of hand foot and mouth disease.
Avatar f tn Hi, I keep getting on and off over the past 5 months tiny, painful bumps on my hands only. Usually on palms, inside finger joints or on fingertips. They are not itchy and are either clear or tiny red bumps smaller than a zit, and are hardly noticeable and only hurt if touched or pressed. Have no idea what they are and neither does my G.P. but he ruled out warts. Any ideas? They feel like a splinter (but are not). Sometimes only 1-2 are present but sometimes 12 appear.
Avatar n tn A dermatologist should be able to help you on this. Take care. Dr.
Avatar m tn I have had these Blisters on my hands for quite some time, one is on my thumb, one is on the side of my other thumb, one is on my middle and one is small and growing on my index finger. The wierd thing is that none are filled with any puss or nothing just dry and there, I have had them for some time now. Can you answer me what the problem is? Thank you This discussion is related to Eczema and Brown Spots.
Avatar n tn t get irratated unless I mess with i put antibacterial onitment but there are still there Id ont have any on my palms or on soles just on the two index fingers and they dont seem to spread no where else.
Avatar m tn I used a condom, and always shower immediately after. So after a long duration of intercourse, I notice lots of blood on the condom and some on the base of my penis. I showered immediately. Now 3 weeks after the incident, I have had a rash on both palms and slight tingle on my right sole for 3 days now. The rash isn’t very colorful or obvious in appearance, but it burns and itches.
Avatar m tn Recently, I developed a cluster of small blisters appeared on one of my right hand fingers. Initially, I observed tiny clear blisters on back of my finger. After a couple of days, the blisters became red and expanded to cover a relatively wider area; it was extremely itchy. I then developed another cluster of blisters on the bottom of my left thumb. The blisters were raised and extremely itchy. Fortunately, I had an appointment with my Doctor for annual checkup when I had the blisters.
Avatar n tn i went to the dermatoligst and he said i have eczama but theres pink round circles on my palms that look like ringworm and funny round spots on my fingers he said i had eczema and gave me dexamethason and fluocinonide cream0.
Avatar n tn Hello, Palmar itch can be due to allergy, contact dermatitis, eczema, pompholyx or systemic causes like thyroid or liver diseases. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Avatar m tn I have dry scaly patched on the palms of my hands (can peel the skin). They get so dry that my skin cracks open so I have huge cuts everywhere. Sometimes its itchy and sometimes they burn. I have no clue what it could be. I was first told it was eczema and then was told it was an allergy to cleaning products. I was told it was not eczema b/c it is only on the palms of my hands. I've been wearing gloves when cleaning and it still wont go away.
1744023 tn?1311289670 What can cause the skin on my palms become, all of a sudden_thin,shinning and silky ? It looks like having gone through a peeling process but_without any kind of exfolliation... Also,my palms are more humid and coloured(red/pink)_than usual; the same_with the skin on my my soles.
Avatar m tn They are mostly on the pads of the fingers with a couple on the sides and one on the top of my index finger that feels and almost looks like a hangnail. These spots are limited to my right hand only. On my middle finger the red spots almost form a ring. Ideas? I also notice that they are especially sensitive to warm/hot water and if I happen to bump them, it really hurts.
Avatar f tn I had dishydrotic eczema on the palms of my hands and then palmoplantar psoriasis. I could literally poke the dishydrotic eczema bubbles on my hand with a sterilized sewing pin and felt nothing (except and explosion of the clear fluid inside.). I don't think it's dishydrotic eczema as they shouldn't be in a row. It could be many other things. It could be hand, foot mouth disease or palmoplatar psoriasis, but if you have no other symptoms, I'd discount both.
Avatar m tn I know it is not eczema as it has now spread to my fiancé (again starting as one and has now multiplied into many, and my future mother in law now has one on her hand as of a few days ago). It starts as a small red bump that hurts, and then it goes away and appears in other places. Where one disappears it seems as though several more appear on my hands. We do not believe it is scabies because they do not itch, sometimes we cannot even feel them, and sometimes they hurt tremendously.
Avatar n tn My fingers have deep vertical lines in them which if scratched enough split and bleed. They feel like paper cuts. The palms of my hand have what look to be sort of brownish callus looking spots that itch, but the weird thing that everybody else says they have that I do not have is my finger tips. They look like nothing is wrong with them at all.
