eczema

3093770 tn?1389739126 I used it last winter and spring when I had the hives and other rashes on my scalp and l also used it when I developed psoriasis on my scalp last summer. It works well. I had to use it a long time for the psoriasis to clear up. http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/archives/fdaDrugInfo.cfm?archiveid=10779 For the face and ears I used Hydrocortisone Valerate Cream 0.2%. This worked well on the psoriasis on my face and ears although it took a long time to clear up.
Avatar f tn Shortly after my diagnosis my wife also developed the condition I believe on/around her nose only. Mine was on my scalp and forehead. Now I am starting to see redness on my school age child that resembles this condition as well as dry skin in the ear lobe. It seems like a rare condition from what I have read. Ive been told its not contagious but now they've started getting this on their face and their scalp is fine.
Avatar f tn Eczema, an itchy inflammation of the skin, effects many people in different forms, with one of the most common being scalp eczema. The scalp is vulnerable because the skin of the scalp is different than skin elsewhere on the body. The scalp has a very rich supply of grease from the sebaceous glands as well as carrying follicles creating long hairs. There are other symptoms to watch for with eczema besides itching.
Avatar m tn So I saw the doctor today, not a dermatologist just my primary care doctor and said it looks like I have eczema and he gave me Clobetasol Propionate Shampoo for my scalp which seems to be working and Hyrdrocortisone and told me to use both about twice aday.
1395422 tn?1308016251 I have never experienced any type of eczema until now. It does run in my family, my mom has asthma and my baby has eczema. It is now to the point that I cringe when I have to feed him on that side. Can somebody tell me what to do to help ease the pain and/or make this go away. Also if anyone on here could share their experience with this, that would be nice. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn Around 7 years ago, I idiotically used neat apple cider vinegar on my scalp as therapy for dandruff without diluting it. Caused burning, irritation and have had issues with scalp flaking ever since. Have tried lanolin, desitin cream, QV jelly, Vaseline but it is stubborn and does not heal. Thick flakes form which peel off to reveal weeping red itchy skin and the cycle repeats. Any advice to treat definitively and achieve regrowth of epidermis would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn Since that time I have confirmed Eczema in my ears and on my scalp. Although the ears and scalp are annoying the spots on my face are really bothering me. I work in a professional environment and even with makeup they do not look very attractive. Prior to this rash/spots on my face showing up, I was vacationing in the Caribbean and they have not gone away. Is there anything I can do? They are dry like Eczema but very red in colour and hard to keep hidden. Any suggestions???
Avatar f tn Hi You might be suffering from scalp (seborrheic) dermatitis or scalp eczema or scalp psoriasis. The exact diagnosis depends on clinical examination. Seborrheic dermatitis presents as dry skin on the scalp, which flakes off (dandruff). The skin on the face, behind the ears, eyelids, nose and chest may also be affected. Symptoms of scalp eczema may include greasy yellowish scales that may turn flake off along intensely itchy and inflamed red scalp.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms that you have mentioned, one possibility that can correlate with your symptoms and history is eczema skin. Usually the symptoms are dry, itchy skin but sometimes, eczema may lead to blisters and oozing lesions also. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema.
Avatar n tn In infants the cheek seems to be the most common area involved. Infantile eczema may have variable appearances .They do not have a definite characteristic. So ,this is still a likely differential here. I suggest you seek second opinion with another dermatologist .A pediatric dermatologist, if there is one in the area may be able to help. Psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis are also differentials but psoriasis is rare in infants and young children.
Avatar f tn I also have itchy scalp, but no dandruff. recently while scratching my head i noticed little scabs on my scalp from scratching. A freind told me recently that he thought it may be a nerve rash. can anyone help me?
1486289 tn?1315842255 ve found the aveeno line of products to be EXTREMELY helpful and it has helped us to minimize the use of topical steroids. Aveeno does make a line of products for infants. There is also an infant eczema cream tho I'm not sure of the brand..it's in a pale green and white tube though.
Avatar f tn Been to several dermatologist and they are all saying it’s in my head or it follilucus went to hair club they said something is going on they see white spots on my scalp they never encountered in there whole time of doing this it feels like a web or something I’d covering my scalp face etc and it itches like crazy at night time
Avatar m tn Hi Try sulfur 8 medicated original formula, anti-dandruff hair and scalp conditioner, if they are only in area of the picture or on your scalp. I had a similar problem, plus I would see blood spots on my pillow cases and towels, or wherever I laid my head on. It started out just as you stated, and over time it got worst. I dislike taking drugs because of the many side affects.
Avatar n tn I have a 7 month old with severe eczema--we have tried a lot of things. We are currently doing the "soak & seal" (aquafore & cereva) and avoiding his food allergies, but he is still extremely itchy. He is taking xyzal 1cc every 8 hours. It seems to come and go on his own. Is there any safe product for infants to help with the itching. Is Sarna Sensitive safe? some drs say it is ok, some say it isn't safe for babies. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn But, itching would always drive me nuts after a couple of days. I am prone to eczema on my torso and even tried Mometasone Furoate Rx cream on it. But I only did a couple days treatment and quit. I went to a dermatologist and she gave me a sample of Ketaconazole foam. That didn't work. Recently, the spots on my scalp spread to the other side of my head and I really began to feel despair. Something needed to be done. Recently, I had my eczema cream refilled for my torso rash.
Avatar f tn I have scratched and picked my scalp for about fifteen years. It started with a spot on my scalp that may have been normal dandruff, or it may have been fungal. Who knows, but it's been a long road since. It has always flaked and when I would scratch, tons of dandruff came off. Over the years, the size of the spot has gotten bigger and bigger and obsessive scratching has taken over my life. To me, I've always scratched until dandruff stopped falling.
Avatar m tn 150ml I would like to know what the effects are on the skin on my scalp as I only apply the conditioner to the tips of my hair. Apparently the Sodium Bicarbonate will keep the pores open and strip away all the oils, but I only use this once a week. What data is there on this effects of this "diet" please. I have been using this for around the past year now and feel fine, but would like to know if I should change the quantities, or use a different method? Many thanks.
Avatar m tn my scalp burns and hurts it flakes and somestimes the flakes harden to my scalp my hair stopped growing and has been falling out over the last year
Avatar n tn I am having frequent tingling sensations on my scalp. It happens all in less than five seconds a bunch of times a day. It feels like when you get goosebumps but only on the top part of my scalp. There is no pain or discomfort, it is just annoying and i I would like to know the cause for something like this and if its a sign of something serious.

Avatar m tn I had this itchyness and rash begin about 2 weeks ago, it began at the back of my scalp, then spread down the sides of my neck, now it's on my upper back, shoulders, and it is extremely bad on my forearms. I've scratched so bad that I have caused sores on my forearms. I went to see the doctor, and he gave me Betaderm Cream, because I do have an history of eczema. It works with the soothing of the itch somewhat, but the rash is still getting worse, it drives me crazy all this itching.
Avatar n tn I have these itchy painful bumps on my scalp. They start out tiny but itch, then get squishy and very painful, like bee stings. The scabs that form are yellow, like there may have been pus in them. I am a picker and cannot leave them alone. I was wondering if it could be shingles. Doctor says it is eczema but I have 2 different types of break-outs.
Avatar f tn I put my hair half up half down (mine is long) so I get it on my lower scalp (above my neck, on scalp behind my ears etc) and crown/top of my head. You really dont need it on your hair, just scalp so splitting my hair works best. Only wash it every two days. Dr can prescribe clobetasol for itchy spots if it gets worse. Water, sunshine and keeping stress low also helps a lot:) I hardly have issues anymore.
