Common Questions and Answers about Eczema relief infants

eczema

Avatar n tn In infants the cheek seems to be the most common area involved. Infantile eczema may have variable appearances .They do not have a definite characteristic. So ,this is still a likely differential here. I suggest you seek second opinion with another dermatologist .A pediatric dermatologist, if there is one in the area may be able to help. Psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis are also differentials but psoriasis is rare in infants and young children.
1486289 tn?1315842255 ve found the aveeno line of products to be EXTREMELY helpful and it has helped us to minimize the use of topical steroids. Aveeno does make a line of products for infants. There is also an infant eczema cream tho I'm not sure of the brand..it's in a pale green and white tube though.
Avatar n tn I have a 7 month old with severe eczema--we have tried a lot of things. We are currently doing the "soak & seal" (aquafore & cereva) and avoiding his food allergies, but he is still extremely itchy. He is taking xyzal 1cc every 8 hours. It seems to come and go on his own. Is there any safe product for infants to help with the itching. Is Sarna Sensitive safe? some drs say it is ok, some say it isn't safe for babies. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn They also have cortisone for eczema relief. My husband has eczema and his feet get so dry and cracked. He sometimes uses diaper rash cream too. Poor baby, hope you find relief soon.
1395422 tn?1308016251 I have never experienced any type of eczema until now. It does run in my family, my mom has asthma and my baby has eczema. It is now to the point that I cringe when I have to feed him on that side. Can somebody tell me what to do to help ease the pain and/or make this go away. Also if anyone on here could share their experience with this, that would be nice. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn My son is 10months old and has had eczema since he was about 5 months,he has had loads of different creams that work for a short time then it flares up again.I must also state that he has been put on a dairy free gluten free diet which has eased it but hasn't helped greatly. My GP will not prescribe an antihistamine for him as he is under 1yr, is there anything with similar effects to an antihistamine that he can use?

Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination,it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis but it can be contact dermatitis(allergic or irritant),eczema(atopic dermatitis) or perioral dermatitis. Allergic contact dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin caused by an allergy to a substance. In irritant contact dermatitis there is skin irritation, including inflammation, swelling of the area, and warmth. The rash will be confined to the specific area that came into contact with the offending agent.
Avatar f tn Could it be eczema or something else? I have never had eczema, so this would seem weird to me if it is and to just have it in one isolated spot. Should I see my doctor? Thank you!
Avatar n tn I've had eczema my entire life and it's NEVER been as bad as it is now. I just gave birth a little over a month ago, but my skin now is soo irritated and itchy I can't even sleep at night. It's made it hard to move or take showers. It burns. I've had perscription steroid cremes every type of lotion out there. And all my dermato wants to do is use the same cremes. I NEED RELIEF!! Does anyone know a natural way to ease the eczema pain?

Avatar n tn Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote skin healing and relief of symptoms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema It would be advisable to consult a skin specialist for your symptoms and a proper clinical examination. Let us know if you need any other information and post us on how you are doing. Regards.
478429 tn?1265244387 Corticosteroids should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Infants born to mothers who have received substantial doses of corticosteroids during pregnancy should be carefully observed for signs of hypoadrenalism. This is about all I could find on it. It looks like the answer is likely no. But, it should not be taken once a pregnancy is confirmed, unless benefit outweighs risk.
2170635 tn?1357911686 you could try a non- cortisone/steroid eczema cream, i know BabyGanics has an all natural one that is safe to use even on infants.
Avatar f tn The next time your Daughter takes your Grand Daughter to the Dr. I would go with her and demand that they do a blood draw and check her iron content in her blood, that's all they have to do to see if she is getting to much Iron! and if that's not the case...my Son had the same problems with the cheeks. turns out he had Eczema, and still does, I actually just posted a post on the severity of it because I am worried!
