Hello , i am 21 years old and to control hairfall i consulted a dermatologist and he prescribed ne a dose of 1 dutasteride tablet everyday for 20 days. I have completed 10 days of medication though it's helping in hair fall control many side effects too are coming out as:
-reduced sex drive
-testicle pain a little bit
-thin ejaculation
Will it be worth taking the tablets for another 10 days?
Hello,Im a male taking Avodart for hair loss but im worried,by what the information is regarding pregnancy.
My question is can i still try to conceive while im taking avodart.
How will this medication effect my sperm count and also will my sperm have this medicine in them.
Will it cause a birth defect if I should get my girlfriend pregnant.
Also if we try for a child how long will it take for the tablets to be out of my stysem

I take Avodart (Dutasteride) 0.5 mg tabs twice a week for the past 6 months. I lowered the dose when I developed gynecomastia (breast tissue). Avodart has a long half life. Will it still work to help my benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)? I have been taking Avodart for 5 years and it has been very helpful.

I KNEW IT! Neither my gyn nor my onc/gyn were aware of this.
I am suffering from BPH for the last 4 years and I am taking DUTASTERIDE (AVODART) and Alfuzosin .
Unfortunately , these meds do not help much since few months ago.
I also about a new procedure named: gat-goren (GG), that sounds as non-pervasive.
Did anyone hear about the GG procedure and can share experience or knowledge about that ?
I have hair loss, but was experiencing this before Copaxone was started in 2008. There's many of us on the forum that have hair loss unrelated to Copaxone. For me, I think it's either autoimmune or related to vitamin deficiency or both. I'm learning that I am always low on a certain vitamin--lately can't keep vitamin D level up without taking a pretty signficant dose. I don't know which vitamin is related to hair, but intended to do some research this week.
I have all the symptoms of hypothryroidism but, my doc. say the lab tests are all normal. I had a test in Jan.07 for TSH that was 1.299, in Aug. of 07 (TSH) of 1.031, again in Feb, 2008, I had the T4 which was 1.20 and the T3 which was 3.5. Are they normal or is somebody missing something. I'm always cold, constipation, hair loss, etc. If it isn't my thyroid what is it. The doc.'s have done every test possible. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
My fatigue and fog cleared after another few weeks, but I also developed severe, diffuse hair loss that has yet to abate. I never had problems with hair loss before, although I know that this is common with thyroid disease. I am a 35 yo female, 5’6”, 115 pounds, exercise regularly, and eat whole foods, little to no processed foods or soy. I have a lot of work-related stress, but no more than usual. I have never been tested for other endocrine problems.
However, in the past several weeks I have noticed that I have a lot of hair shedding and it is freaking me out. I am 30 and have always had a lot of hair, but this rapid amount of hair loss is stressing me out. Has anyone experienced this? Does it go away? Is it the PTU or changes in the thyroid levels? I've heard that evening primrose oil is helpful in combating hair loss and ran out and bought some today. Please tell me if you've had a similar experience.

I am 25 year old guy.. I have hair loss. so the doctor prescribed me for propecia which i consumed last 50 days. for the first 30 days, i consumed one tablet per day and the last 20 days i consumed 2 tablets/day. I was also taking anti convolution tablet for a different reason from a different doctor for 10 days.
Now i am having erectile dysfunction. So i stopped taking the pills now. Can anybody please tell me how many days it will take usually for reversing this condition?
If your father has been prescribed a medication called dutasteride for treatment of the BPH, it is possible that the diclofenac was interacting with it and leading to his problems with urination.
However, it is possible that the difficulty in urination could be due to the BPH itself and not related to the possible drug interaction. If the problem is due to an enlarged prostate, it would be better to have him undergo some procedures such as PVP (photoselective vaporization) to treat the BPH.
5 mcg calcitriol, some NSAIDs, and some vitamin E daily. I also took dutasteride for a total of 17 months. (On-and-off dutasteride convinced me that I could never endure serious ADT. Thus my "watchful waiting" could only be waiting for metastasis and death (or for the recent good news).
I have no god and don't work with radioactive materials or unusual chemicals. Something in my simple faddish regimen apparently helped with my cancer. I hope it can help others.
