Avatar f tn Another posibility is a reactive airway disease. That is really more of a collection of lung conditions where the lungs are too reactive to harmless substances. It is important to rule out other reactive airway issues to get the propper treatment. There are other conditions that cause broncho-constriction besides asthma.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, some individuals develop allergy to the ipritropium in the Duo-neb or to Spiriva and the drug simply irritates the membranes of the mouth allowing the thrush to take hold. That you also develop candidiasis under your breasts suggests that you might, for some reason be predisposed to this infectious agent. One possible approach would be to use some type of Spacer device, to be placed between your inhalers and your mouth. Wish I could be more helpful.

Avatar m tn You are not an IV drug user, you do not take antirejection drugs for an organ transplant and you do not take Chemo for cancer. Your test was conclusive. You do not have HIV.

Avatar n tn I have been to doctors multiple times about my breathing. They told me it is partially because of anxiety and partially because of really bad nasal drip that causes an infection in my lungs while I sleep. All they prescribed me was a Salbutamol puffer but it doesn't really help at all. I guess it is just something that I have to live with. You should tell your doc that you don't want to rely on meds.
Avatar m tn growling sound in stomach; feeling of incompleteness in defecation; frequent abdominal cramps (lower part mainly); indigestion (especially spicy/oily foods, milk products, food with high dietary fiber contents (like biscuits, soyabeans, vegetables, fruits), and protein rich items (like chicken, mutton, eggs, etc)). When I consume antibiotics (like levooflaxin, ofloxacin), antiamoebics (ornidazole, metronidazole), I remain fine for the time period I consume the medicines.
Avatar n tn Hi, my GP has changed my meds today from seravent, becotide and salbutamol to Symbicort turbohaler. I have never used a turbohaler before and am finding it really hard to "suck" the drug into me! I have read the instructions and followed them to the letter but it just seems really difficult to suck through. Is this normal? or could the turbohaler be faulty? Also does it matter if i hear 2 clicks when loading? Please help as really need it to work!
Avatar f tn My doctor has me using the neb more than an inhaler. I am to use my inhaler only when I absolutely cannot use my neb or for very minor issues. Personally, I find it is MUCH more effective. The nebulizer produces a much finer mist than what comes out of an inhaler enabling it to get deeper into the lungs. I know of some people that have purchased small, purse sized nebs to use instead of using an inhaler at all.
880900 tn?1467270141 One additional note, regarding your history of having had “a couple of TIA’s”. It is not rare for persons with a history of DVT to have TIA’s, the cause being a communication within the heart between the left and right sides of the heart that allows clots to crossover from right to left and then go to the brain. Such a communication is called a patent foramen ovale and such is not uncommon.

Avatar f tn Physicians sometime prescribe medications for lowering heart-rate, but this interferes with the ability of the body to compensate for low oxygenation. Six of one and half a dozen of the other. You might suggest to your physician that they administer valium with the treatment. This was another "old mainstay" until some idiot convinced the DEA to certify valium as a "schedule one" drug. Decades ago you didn't even have to sign for it.
Avatar n tn The 1st is a steroid, the 2nd is a sort of anti-airway-inflammation drug.
Avatar m tn The drug is albuterol side note..
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with acute bronchitus and also had an asthma attack on top of it which made my breathing verrrry difficult. I was given Z pack, pretnezone. And took 2 nebulizer treatments there. I have a neb at home. I have been taking the medicine as directed. And doing my neb every 4 hrs. I am becoming MORE and MORE wheezy. Throughout the day 4 times I have been coughing up green with red brownish sputum.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar m tn can i give salbutamol in 1st trimister thretened abortion?
Avatar n tn As for your other question whether a five year study can demonstrate a drug-cancer connection, it would depend partly on the study design. The strength of the association between cause (the drug) and effect (cancer) would depend on how the evidence is gathered. Experimental studies (e.g. randomized controlled trials) wherein test subjects are compared against matched controls offer the most compelling evidence.

Avatar n tn I've been noticing a lot of leg jerks/twitches and other feelings of shakiness lately. I'm a 26 yo female in good health, and I recently had a physical with blood work. I'm slightly low on iron, but otherwise everything was normal. I've been stressed out, and I drink a little bit of caffeine daily. Anyone think that the twitchiness could be due to exercise?
Avatar n tn I have severe asthma AND VCD. I was recently started on CPAP for a mild case of sleep apnea. I hate it! I can't breathe with the machine on and it gives me headaches. I'm not sleeping any better with it than I was without it. I'm still waking up at least once per night needing to do a neb treatment. I also have fibromyalgia and PD, so I'm up several times per night due to pain, which the CPAP doesn't help.
Avatar f tn It has had (VX 950) a really good track record so far but also is not perfect as their are reports of severe rashes and some evidence of viral mutations in the earlier trials. Being it is in phase 3 with a large group to study the picture will get a little clearer on that drug. I hope that helps and good luck in your decision just think long and hard about it first.
