metrogel

Avatar f tn Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
Avatar f tn Avoiding rosacea triggers, such as caffeine, spicy foods, and alcohol, also may help clear the skin. But pls don’t worry as it is not a permanent condition. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Warm regards.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Metrogel is used for chronic skin disorders like rosacea, and for reducing the odour associated with malodorous fungating tumours. This medicine is for external use only. If you think that you have developed this scratchy type of rash after using the gel it is recommended to stop the gel. I will advise you to see a dermatologist and get your rash seen. Only a clinical examination can confirm the cause of your rash and treatment will depend on the cause. Do keep me posted.
Avatar f tn Please I am desperate!!!! I have had this for 2 years already. I get these small red pimples around my nose and in my chin that burns don't know what to do. The doctors think is rosecea but I have been using metrogel and it doesn't seem to work if I put cortisone I get more of those small little pimples. I hate to have the pimples but i hate even more that are red and that they burn.
1415174 tn?1453243103 It is too soon to know if it is working but it seems to be. Does Rosacea cause itching usually? Is the peri-oral dermatitis a broad term that can include rosacea? I wanted to thank you for urging me to see a dermatologist. I think it is good that I did. I have a follow up visit in two weeks but you asked me to let you know how the visit went. If I stop using the steroid on my face will the Rosacea stop eventually?
Avatar f tn Or should I keep any lotion or aloe away from that eye while I use the metrogel? Like I said, the periocular dermatitis/rosacea is just under my right eye, nowhere else!! I need some professional help here so I can tell him "this is what a professional told me." Any help is so appreciated, I just hope I can help someone else in the future who may have this problem as well. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Have seen two dermatologists so far but the condition did not improve. He was given topical metrogel 1% which did not work and the 2nd dermatologist put him on antibiotics for 3 months! nothing worked and wondering what other options he has.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi, I have had Rosacea for a number of years. I don't know what Type it is but it is red pimples on my cheeks, occasional white heads but these are rare, and nose and Telangiectasia on my chin. I have been treated with Topical Finacea 15%. It has helped for a long time. But lately I am getting a lot more small pimples and peeling skin. I put Cetaphil Eczema calming cream on my face before putting on the Finacea and that has helped with the redness. But my skin still has been peeling.
Avatar m tn Went to a dermotologist and he perscribed 2 ointments (protopic and metrogel) neither hae had any positive effect. any advice please............
493068 tn?1224765315 I have severe ocular rosacea and facial rosacea. I have been in just severe pain. I have kept a juournal for 6 months and stress form ilness ex: UTI and low humidity makes it go wild. I feel like I just can't handle this horrible pain much longer. My opthalmologist just gave me Lotemax reluctantly because of glaucoma. Is this rosacea suppose to be this paiful? I take Doxy daily, Travatan, erythromycin eye ointment. I am just at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn It's most probably rosacea which at one point was thought to be brought on by Demodex mites. That theory is not now not widely held as they have that many in the general population also have Deomodex mites but do not have rosacea. In any event, many of us -- including myself -- have developed rosacea from the treatment drugs, probably the interferon.
Avatar n tn My family practice doctor has prescribed metrogel for rosacea. After reading about rosacea, I am thinking it might not be rosacea. I do not have any rash or bumps, just little veins filled with blood. I am a male in my early 50s, I do not drink alcohol or smoke. I drink only one cup of coffee a day. There doesn't seem to be a time it is better or worse. I just seem to get more red with each subsequent year. Any idea what this could be? Do you think it is a form of rosacea?
1554921 tn?1294370388 As my face cleared up, the doctor prescribed me with a topical metronidazole called Metrogel (which is supposably to cure Rosacea). Well i applied the gel as indicated by the doctor and it did nothing. 3 weeks after taking the antibiotic, my face was clear then my face brokeout again. I didnt know what to do, so i just delt with it and waited for it to go away alone.
Avatar f tn at first i thought it was rosacea as i have had this in the same area but metrogel did not work to get rid of this. i then tried hydracortisone 1% and this takes some inflammation down but is not clearing it. any advice the rash seems to have spread and is not getting worse or any better.
Avatar f tn My doctor has given me metrogel and said it could be rosacea, but the redness has increased since using it and i now flush every single time i eat. But another doctor has said it looks like mild acne due to the amount of blackheads and clogged pores i have. Can skin become inflamed from too many clogged pores? And if so does food aggravate it the same as it would with rosacea? I'm just confused and wish i had a definate diagnosis.
Avatar f tn I was dx'd (very surprised about this) with Rosacea and given Oracea 40 mg to take once a day. By day 8, my intestines were saying 'no way'. My derm's P/A said to stop the med. What are my options. I've made a follow up with my derm, who is only in the area a few times a week, and would like to be prepared to help make decisions. My concern is my nose. I had pointed out to him, during my full body check, some pinkie tip sized indentations on my nose.
Avatar f tn I have been to the dermatologist and the recommended Metrogel and then Finacea have only made my condition worsen. I am allergic to tetracyclines and sulfa drugs so I did the 30 day/2 times of erythromyocin but didn't help. I have a sample of Diprolene that had been given for poison and it clears up the rash but was not approved by the dermatologist, probably because it is just a temporary fix and can make the PODS (what I think I have) worse.
Avatar n tn I have been researching and seen that a tablet called Clonidine can help stop facial blushing. Does it help blushing? And should I give it a try?
Avatar m tn t know what I should do, I have gone to a dermatologist and they did not think it was rosacea but after after giving me different types of medication and nothing working they thought it could be a mild condition especially when I notice some triggers causing me to flush. I am only 19 years old and first year in college which is making it extremely tough. If you have any suggestions please let me know.
Avatar f tn Hello Samar2014, Welcome to the allergy forum. I see you joined Med help this month. This does sound like an allergic reaction to me. What product do you use to wash your face ? Do you use a product called Noxema by any chance ? I used Noxema only once a long time ago. I will never forget how greasy my face felt after using it. I ended up throwing the whole jar away. I think I was a teenager or in my early twenties. Can't remember how old I was. Secondly, do you use a skin toner ?
