Avatar f tn The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely. Will it ever go away? Will my skin return to the way it was before the steroid use? (I never had rosacea before) Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn Please I am desperate!!!! I have had this for 2 years already. I get these small red pimples around my nose and in my chin that burns don't know what to do. The doctors think is rosecea but I have been using metrogel and it doesn't seem to work if I put cortisone I get more of those small little pimples. I hate to have the pimples but i hate even more that are red and that they burn.
Avatar f tn I'm 9 weeks now with severe pregnancy acne on my cheeks n chin. My dermatologist put on Finacea 15% gel and Metrogel 1% both of.which are more than $200 each a tube. Were you guys prescribed anything else that's pregnancy safe by your derm?
Avatar f tn Hi there, Metrogel is used for chronic skin disorders like rosacea, and for reducing the odour associated with malodorous fungating tumours. This medicine is for external use only. If you think that you have developed this scratchy type of rash after using the gel it is recommended to stop the gel. I will advise you to see a dermatologist and get your rash seen. Only a clinical examination can confirm the cause of your rash and treatment will depend on the cause. Do keep me posted.
Avatar f tn I am a 24 year old female. At the age of 12 I started getting a red discoloration on my cheeks, slightly above my eyebrows, and a little on my chin which was slightly flaky. I do have dandruff in my hair. I was diagnosed with Seborrheic Dermatitis by my dermatologist at the age of 21. Not knowing any better when I was younger I tried everything over the counter for acne, but I didn't have acne. I definitely do not have rosacea because I never got pustules.
Avatar f tn You may be having sensitive skin but if the redness persists for a long time, then prerosacea needs to be ruled out. In this, individuals generally come to the dermatologist for acne treatment and exhibit flushing and blushing episodes that last longer than normal. The prolonged redness usually appears over the cheeks, chin, nose or forehead.
Avatar n tn When they culture it, what does it show?
1554921 tn?1294370388 now my face brokeout again, but this time mainly on the one side, the other is clean. I am beyond the acne stage, as i had it as a teenager but it went away as it does to most. My face gets bright red and burning sensations on occasions alone, when i have a glass of wine, eat hot foods...etc.
Avatar f tn I went on the pill for the same reason when I was 16. It didn't really make a difference with my acne, but it helped to regulate my periods and made them lighter, and more managable. But my acne got better as I got older. I also used acne cream from my pharmacist, if you go in and ask them, they will normally give you one from behind the counter, they are stronger than the ones you can pick up yourself, but not as strong as if they doctor was to prescribe it for you. Hopefully this helps!
Avatar f tn The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
Avatar f tn When I get out of the shower or overheated, I have a pink spot on the skin just above my upper lip, touching the lip line. It's approx. 2 cm long by 1/4th cm high. There's also a tingling sensation at times. The skin there looks slightly different but I'm 62 and have had age spots burned off in my hairline, etc. I am female, never smoked, don't drink and have never had a cold sore or tested positive for HPV. I do not sunbathe but grew up in the south.
Avatar n tn This could be a number of things and I would suggest you consult your physician about this.
Avatar n tn In the beginning of May I experinced some usual vaginal discharge and itchiness and I went to the doctor and I was told I had Bacterial Vaginosis and was given Metrogel 0.
Avatar f tn I went to my gyno (first available appt) who inspected and thought that I may have a bacterial infection so I was prescribed Metrogel. An STD panel was run and everything was negative except for HSV1. I did not have a UTI. I used Metrogel vaginally once a day for 7 days. The burning subsided. About a week later I developed bilateral inner thigh pain 1/2 way between my groin and knee. That pain then turned into a strong burning sensation.
Avatar n tn I'm sorry, I meant that answer for another post. For what you are describing, if it isn't herpes for sure, then adult acne or perioral dermatitis. Check out this web site - http://www.bozemanskinclinic.com/skin-conditions/perioraldermatitis.php I used tetracycline for a month and now I have Metrogel topically to use forever.

Avatar m tn I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
Avatar n tn No temporary cure the best is the latest Clindesse 2% vaginal cream, single dose x 1 and that's it. Other options metrogel x 5 days, or po flagyl.
