Does appendicitis pain subside

Common Questions and Answers about Does appendicitis pain subside

appendicitis

Avatar n tn Could you be pregnant or have your appendix still? Is it on the right lower part of your lower belly. Is there any fever, vomiting? Are you sexually active and have you missed your period? It could be a tubal pregnancy. You really need to go to the ER if it doesn't subside. Or could it be gas, is it traveling pain? Have you taken anything for the pain yet? Gas pills, Tylenol, Advil, anything at all?
Avatar m tn If you are getting right sided pain, it could be due to appendicitis, that’s when you have pain on the right side just above the pelvis and you may also have referred pain around the umbilicus (belly button). The pain in appendicitis generally starts around the umbilicus and moves to the lower right quadrant of the abdomen. The other symptoms for Appendicitis are fever, nausea, vomiting and malaise.
Avatar f tn My son had sudden onset symptoms causing a STAT CT scan to rule out Appendicitis. It did rule it out. They found Mesenteric Lymphadenitis present. No infection has been found in the blood stream, in fact only signs of inflammation. Other test are being run by Pediatrician, but still await results. 4 % of body weight loss in the past week. The pain just doesn't seem to want to subside. Do you have any thoughts on how I can be more proactive to help him??
Avatar f tn I just feel like the doctors are not taking me seriously...to the point that after the acute phase does subside I do wonder...is it in myour head? Until, the next episode hits, and I am validated this immobilize Nguyen pain is not in my head. I am 40, have 2 kids to take care of, and hate when Mommy needs to lie down. I saw previous posts on this but nothing recent. I just don't understand why the pain is in the same location.
Avatar m tn Having been an EMT for many years I understand this could be appendicitis, however, I am confused about the pain free lapses. I live in the middle of no where with poor hospitals about 2 and a half hours away. I am hesitant to spend 5 hours in an ER and then having no pain when I am finally seen. Does it make sense to have classic appendicitis symptoms that go completely away for a few days at a time over a 3 month course?
Avatar f tn My sister told me if i had appendicitis, my pain would be getting worse cuz my aPpendix pain has been going for like 2 months now but only once the pain was severe and that was in the morning.
1615943 tn?1410627667 The last three days I have been experiencing lower right side abdominal pain. Occurs more so when laying down. Hurts less if laying on that side. Feels like a stabbing feeling along with bloating , cramping, feel nausea, diarrhea 1st day then constipated then back to diarrhea as well as very gassy. Lost health insurance due to an incompetent individual at the insurance office, awaiting the mistake to be fixed. Don't know what I should do. Does this warrant an er visit?
Avatar f tn When I would sit the pain would shoot into my lower right back but after an hour or so the pain would subside. The pain occurred very badly in September and I also had the pain in October but it wasn't as severe. Then this past month I had an extremity heavy period with more clots then usually (I attributed it to a switch in birth control) but this month after my period I expierenced no pain at all.
Avatar n tn Also the pains in my abdomen seem to get worse when i eat or after a night out drinking. Then the pain gets very sharp and spreads to the left side and lower left of the back, i get hit by a sudden feeling of weakness and have to lie down. What are the possible causes of this pain, and could it be linked to my other symptoms? p.s. i am fully aware that this is not a diagnosis, it is just to know wether or not i should get this checked by my GP. p.p.
18799278 tn?1484274288 I'm not a medical expert but it sounds similar to stories I've heard about appendicitis. Appendicitis can be very serious, especially if the appendix ruptures. It might be worth going and getting checked out by a doctor just in case.
Avatar m tn Im currently living abroad, and I dont know what this can be, can it be a possible amebiasis? What does this pain and these blood test results point towards?
Avatar n tn About 2 weeks ago I went to the emergency room with severe pain in my lower right side. I thought it was appendicitis but a CT scan showed a dermoid cyst (teratoma 7cm X 5cm X 7.4cm) growing on the lower right side of my abdomen. The tumor was removed last Thrusday along with my right ovary and fallopian tube. Today is my 5th day post op and I feel pretty good.
Avatar n tn I think I would take him to the ER if you are not able to see his physician. Someone should see him today.
995502 tn?1249592251 Hello and Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I apologize for my tardy response I have been out due to both of my parents being very ill. I am sorry to hear about your long standing pain.I assume you surgery was not laparoscopic but rather a laparotomy which is more apt to cause adhesions. Please correct me if I am in error. Often scar tissues also called adhesions form following a surgical procedure. These can be very painful.
Avatar f tn Don't want to scare you but my sister had appendicitis, the pain started off as random sperts but suddenly got worse as the appendix started to split, she was rushed into hospital and they performed an emergancy opp. Some cases heal themselves, others don't like my sister's. I would ask another doctor; if they send you home again, just watch for ANY changes and monitor your temperature, urine colour and strength of pain over the next 2-3 days.
Avatar n tn When I had appendecitis I woke up in pain with a lot of abdominal pressure and was admitted for surgery that day. It felt like I was really constipated or something (sorry TMI), and was nauseous. It sounds like the pain you are having is more likely related to the pcos. I have had ovarian cysts in the past and it felt a lot like what you are describing. I'm not an expert, just my personal experience.
Avatar f tn I just forced myself to eat a sandwich and the pain seems to subside after eating. I no longer feel pain each time I breath ? But the pain seemed to have migrated over to the left side of my belly button just now? It lasted just a moment and seems more on top of belly again. My point is, it seems to be moving ? I also have had excessive belching and shortness of breath for quite a long time. My dr thought it was cardio related but now with this I am thinking gastro !
Avatar n tn As far as I know, the most apparent symptom of appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix) is a dull pain in the stomach on the right side, that moves to severe lower right abdominal pain. http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/digestive-diseases-appendicitis The above website explains different symptoms that could accompany appendicitis.
Avatar f tn what is the pain from and what are you on?
Avatar f tn I have no fever or anything like that, nor am I having the typical rebound pain or any pain in my right lower stomach. It seems that the pain moves when I change position if that makes sense. Usually when I sit it moves in the lower area of my belly button, and when I lay down it moves to the upper area of my belly button. My stomach is constantly making gurgling noises and it feels like there are gas bubbles inside of me. I am really, really scared that something serious is going on with me.
Avatar f tn Last night I started having a dull pain on the right side of my abdomen, across from my belly button, it went away today but came back around lunch time. It went away again and now at 2am it has come back. I pressed on my stomach a bit and it send a shooting pain through my belly button area. Its not SUPER painful, just more of a discomfort. I've also started urinating WAY more in the past hour and I'm not sure if its related but my knees began aching REALLY bad out of nowhere.
Avatar m tn How can you identify ovarian cyst pain? What is the usual size of the cyst need to undergo surgery? Describe the difference between appendicitis?
