Avatar f tn The dr first had me use nitroglycerin, now I am on Diltiazem ointment. The rectocele is fairly bad. The worst part is the anal fissures and most of all the Levator/Pelvic Floor dysfunction. Supposedly the therapist is very well trained in it. This is the only area of therapy she does. I appreciate you answering me. I had to go back to work today because I have been off so long and my job is not being very understandable and I can't afford to not work since I am a single mom with 2 kids.
Avatar n tn In July I started walking again and the pain came back even worse than before. I also went to my colo-rectal surgeon last week and he found a small anal fissure but that is not what's causing all the other pain. I am suffering with the rectal pain so badly that I am thinking I might have to quit work. The only relief is when I get home and get in bed. Can someone recommend a some kind of treatment? I am at my wit's end. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.
Avatar n tn My fiancé is thirty years old. For the past three months he has had occasional rectal bleeding after the second or third time he wipes. He also has itching. In January he saw his doctor who prescribed an anal ointment. My finance returned to the doctor after two weeks and advised the doctor that the symptoms were still present. Blood was taken at this visit. The Doctor prescribed him another anal ointment, Prilosec for gas and Metamusil. He was told to return in a month.

Avatar n tn Do you have a stinging pain when you bm?It sounds like you have an anal fissure.I suffered from anal fissure last year and it took a while for it to heal.First off you need to get a stool softener, docusate sodium or Miralax are the best stool softeners to use.Take sitz bath twice a day especially after bm so you can relax your sphincter help promote blood flow so it can heal.Your going to need to go on a high fiber diet and you need to get about 30 grams of fiber per day.
Avatar m tn I had the banding procedure done about 6-8 months ago. I went to see a general surgeon 2 weeks ago because I was having rectal pain, discomfort and itching again. He told me I have pruritus ani. I was wondering if i shouldask to have an anoscopy done when I return to see him for a follow-up in two weeks? I would rather have an anoscopy done before him telling me to have a colonoscopy done. Thanks! .

Avatar m tn rash, nausea with or without vomiting, rectal issues (hemmorhoids, burning diarrhea, irching ..... also, but not as common severe rectal pain). Both Telaprevir and Ribavirin cause anemia. There are other side effects to treatment due to the three treating drugs (Interferon, Ribavirin, Telaprevir).
Avatar f tn That helps a lot. I have to find a dr.
Avatar n tn I am currently on 30 mg of diltiazem 3x day and i was wondering how effective is this dose at bring down your blood pressure. and how much would it bring it down. a rough estimate would be great. for i am hoping to come off of this medicine.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your response. I am seeing one now,but due to other issues he has postponed doing anything else right now. I have ended up in the ER for thrombosis of external ones. I have read forums that say hemorroidectomy surgery is painful, but well worth it for long term relief.
1986030 tn?1327535359 Many people treating with Incivek on this forum have had this side effect. My husband started having anal rectal pain (burning and felt like shards of glass passing through according to him). This lasted from about week 3 to about week 13 for him. Others on the forum have reported that it didn't last as long or didn't include rectal bleeding for them. In my journal, I have posted some tips that people on the forum have posted over the past few months: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn BP is relatively normal. I take indapmide for that (From my regular doctor). In fact when my cardilolgist put me on diltiazem, he took me off indapamide. That didn't last long. The diltiazem did nothing for my BP. It went back up (Only talking +/- 140/90), so let me add bavk the indapamide. So, that is not an issue. Just the MVP/ diltazem issue. The pulse can stay n the 60's for awhile. At most during the day, in the 80's. (Of course, that is only when the rythym is normal).
Avatar f tn This area is gets very sensitive from time to time and I experience a small amount of rectal bleeding especially after running long distance. I have found applying a zinc oxide ointment on the area somewhat helpful. Is this normal?
1622431 tn?1299070442 I have recently been diagnosed with pacs, and my doctor put me on diltiazem. Can any one tell me from experience how effective this treatment is?
Avatar f tn Bottle brush to scrub them out, rectal thermometer and infant Tylenol, first aid kit and grooming kit, for blankets you'll need heavy blankets for a winter baby, plus receiving blankets, burp cloths, crib or bassinet
Avatar n tn Sounds like maybe you could have a very bad yeast infection and if the blood is from your rectal area when you wipe that could be from hemorrhoids I would suggest maybe seeing a doctor to find out for sure if it is a yeast infection you could try eating some yogurt that may help
Avatar n tn So pls get an examination done by a surgeon to confirm the diagnosis.Till that time, try an over-the-counter (OTC) cream or ointment containing hydrocortisone (Cortaid, Preparation H),but it is to be applied sparingly to the affected area. A protective ointment that contains zinc oxide (Desitin, Balmex) also may help. If your symptoms are worse at night, pls take an antihistamine like benadryl to reduce itching until topical treatments take effect. Hope it helps.
Avatar n tn Hi Dr, Male age 46 with occasional hem. issue..Had routine colonoscopy 8 months ago...perfect....Anyhow...1st of July this year had a bout with hems. Just one that was either a external or prolapsed internal. Went away after about a month of warm soaks etc. Just a it was going away had the sensation of "pressure" in rectal/anal area off and on. No pain..After 3 weeks saw my Gastro Doc...He did digital exam...zero blood...no lumps etc...He has ZERO bedside manner...
Avatar f tn April I was prescribed anti-fungal single dose plus an ointment to use daily. The itch faded away quickly which makes me think it was yeast, but the feeling of swelling, dryness and stiffness persisted and got worse. When I sit it feels like I'm sitting on something, a very tight feeling like something is going to pop. Especially bad if I've just washed the area.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago my Cardio doctor changed my medication from Cardizem LA to Diltiazem CD. I know it's the generic brand of Cardizem. Anyway he raised my dosage from 240 mg. to 300 mg. For a whole week I had some terrible side effects. I blacked out once while sitting at my computer and then I came close to blacking out on a daily basis. I also felt off balance. I ended up going to my primary doctor, not for this, but for something else. I guess it was a follow up appointment.
