Avatar f tn Should I consult my doc or what. I used dibucaine ointment and am contemplating lidocaine jelly. Any other tx options would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn how long should it take for the estradiol/lidocaine ointment to truly take effect? it is making a difference. and i’m also using raw coconut oil?
Avatar n tn Protopic RX, oral Amitriptilyn, Doxepin, Ketoconazole, estrogen ointment, testosterone ointment, estrogen oral. The only thing that helps is cold packs and pain medication. The last diagnosis was Vulvadynia, but as I read more about it, my pain is not in the Vulva Vestibule. It is all external on the liabial lips..Am I going to have to tolerate this burning the rest of my life? I am 83 yrs. old. The Drs. tell me there is a broad spectrum of ages.
Avatar m tn You can get a prescription ointment with lidocaine and that will numb your skin. If you have not started tx yet you may be worrying more than is necessary. The shots are not painful, they give you a teeny tiny needle that is very sharp and you inject into fat so there is almost no sensation. I was worried about the injections but my fears about the injections were unfounded and I got through 48 weeks of tx (and 40 of them with an additional shot of Procrit) without any pain from the shots.
Avatar f tn this could be due to irritation or something else. Regardless, I would consult with a doctor. Something like a topical ointment such as lidocaine (numbing) can help incredibly.
Avatar n tn If it gets incredibly bad, tell your doctor and ask to be prescribed ointment with Lidocaine.
Avatar f tn ) the patches are prescription only so maybe ask your doctor about them or try over the counter ones like icy hot maybe. Hope these work for you. Goodluck.
Avatar m tn It is an unusual situation. Can it be that your girl friend has used lidocaine ointment for pain in vagina? Lidocaine can affect your glans, causing you feeling of numbness. I hope some one come out with appropriate answer to solve your problem. This is a delicate question. Did anyone else experience similar problem with her. I understand that this quite a delicate question. However, if you have continue relationship, you might have to ask frank question. It is again intruquing Sp?
Avatar n tn It really depends on what you need. If this has been prescribed for you, and you are uncertain about it, then you can always ask your doctor for more clarification. It really just all depends on your individual circumstances.
Avatar f tn it is horrible and painful. i was prescribed an estradiol/lidocaine ointment. it is not helping right now. i have burning rawness on the skin near my vaginal opening and vagina walls. any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Hi there, I'm a 37 year old male. I am on quite a lot of psychotropic medications to handle mood disorders and such. Last October I noticed blood on the paper after a BM. This wasn't shocking as it had happened before and just went away. This time, while the blood did go away (only to come back every so often) there was a terrible pain. Really, it's almost indescribable. I toughed that out for a month. It turned out to be a fissure.
Avatar m tn I know the pain is a bear so continue with the lidocaine and antibiotic ointment. Apply it with a Q tip and wash your hands before touching your nose. Don't blow your nose hard for a few weeks. It needs some time without trauma. You'll have to take the Percocet by mouth and that should help the pain just don't put it up your nose. I'd hate to see you end up needing surgery; it's painful and disfiguring.
Avatar n tn I am currently on 30 mg of diltiazem 3x day and i was wondering how effective is this dose at bring down your blood pressure. and how much would it bring it down. a rough estimate would be great. for i am hoping to come off of this medicine.

Avatar f tn got me an appointment with my gyn tomorrow but said in the meantime to take sitz baths, continue the lidocaine, use warm compresses, and go to ER if I get a fever over 100.4 degrees..well, I just got out of the tub and was looking at it while I got the cream...as I applied it what looked like bloody plaque erupted. Now it hurts even worse and has a hole at the top. I put hydrogen peroxide on and then the lidocaine with a gauze covering.
Avatar m tn Learn it, practice it for 10 minutes twice a day When ever you have unwanted arousal use this breathing this will calm you. For rough sensitive glans, use lidocaine cream or ointment. It is anesthetic. It will relive your pain.
Avatar f tn This will reduce or even stop the pain when the procedure is being done. I learned this the hard wait...it hurt and hurt and hurt...then one day a would care nurse suggested it...ahhhh...the procedure was pain free. You will not be able to use the lidocaine at home, but in the clinics they can provide you with some. You may need your doctor to perscribe it for you and the clinic would keep it for you.
Avatar m tn I have suffered with taking diltiazem(180 mg ER) AND metoprolol (50 mg ER) for atril fibrillation for the past two and a half years. The side effects have been debilitating.. Both drugs have the same side effects and together and one or the other or both create what I can only describe as chaotic turbulence in my chest and pain in my left arm when the second drug kicks in.. My cardiolgist now wants me to add a blood thinner (xarelto) to my meds menu.
Avatar m tn Not all of us respond the same to the same medications. The indapamide worked better for you than the dilitazem so it only makes sense to stay w/the indapamide and forego the diltiazem since your doctor obviously didn't consider the indapamide and diltiazem a good combinantion. I understand about uninsured doctor visits. We lost our family doctor of some 30 years and got a rude shock when we started doctor shopping!!! From a standard $35 office call to a $150 initial office call!!!!!
1622431 tn?1299070442 I've taken Diltiazem and it works quite well. I have PAC's, PVC's and PSVT (a type of atrial tachy). Years ago they gave me Verapamil (similar to Diltiazem) and it did not agree with me at all. I can't take beta blockers because I have asthma. But the Diltiazem helped with the chest pain, slowed down my heart rate and lower my BP a bit, helped with my Raynauds (where my blood vessels spasm and my hands and feet turn a yucky blue/gray color).
7458937 tn?1391882099 I would try some aquaphor. It will keep the area from getting dry and itchy as it heals and also forms a protective barrier so it doesn't get infected. With my son I never tore vaginally but oddly I got a tiny tear on the clitoral hood, not enough to get stitches, but over the last few years it sometimes rips a tiny tiny bit there after sex. I use the aquaphor and it helps alot and it heals pretty quick too. I would try that! Any idea how you got the tears?
Avatar m tn A number of cardiac drugs, including digitalis, lidocaine, diltiazem, procainamide, atropine, and propanalol (Inderal), are used to control arrhythmias in dogs. Dogs whose primary problem is an arrhythmia may be able to have a pacemaker implanted to help control the heart rate. The heart will ultimately give-in, resulting usually in cardiac failure (heart attack).
Avatar f tn I have been taking metoprolol and diltiazem for sixteen months and initially the medications brought the SVTs under control. Fourteen months ago I started coughing blood and experiencing chest congestion. This took my attention off any heart issues and sent me on a long search for the cause of the bleeding. After many tests and visits with various specialists I never did get the answer. The bleeding resolved itself after 10 months (last October) and has not reappeared.
Avatar f tn s NP also prescribed a lidocaine ointment to reduce pain in that area. Good luck. Let us know what works.
Avatar f tn Anyway, he said that I was over medicated so he lowered my dosage back down to 240 mg. of Diltiazem CD and he also put me on Enalapril 2.5 mg. Since my Diltiazem dosage was raised I have been losing weight unintentionally. Believe me I have been eating VERY well and the pounds are still dropping. I have struggled to lose weight for months and now all of a sudden I'm losing. My question is could the Diltiazem be causing me to lose weight and has this happened to anyone else?
