I have had an anal fissure for about 3 years, I have had success with nifedipine 0.2% ointment. I will use the cream and it heals the fissure 90%, I say 90% because even when I am using the nifedipine ointment I still have some pain on certain days (when I have the occasional bout of diarrhea or I have mutiple bowel movements in one day)
When I stop using the nifedipine ointment all together the fissure will come back and hurt me.

In that case, take warm sitz baths, smear some painkilling gel around the area and avoid constipation. If the symptoms persist then glyceryl trinitrate ointment, Botox injections and surgery can be tried after consulting a surgeon.
The dr first had me use nitroglycerin, now I am on Diltiazem ointment. The rectocele is fairly bad. The worst part is the anal fissures and most of all the Levator/Pelvic Floor dysfunction. Supposedly the therapist is very well trained in it. This is the only area of therapy she does. I appreciate you answering me. I had to go back to work today because I have been off so long and my job is not being very understandable and I can't afford to not work since I am a single mom with 2 kids.
I am having anal fissure I used diltiazem gel for 2 days but then I realised that my urine, water and even my fingers hurts near my vagina lips. I feel hell fire pain.Lateron i realized that my skin is cut and there is acne typ on other side but its uper skin is vanished. I think that this gel hurts me because when I put it first day I apply it widely.

It sounds like you have an anal fissure.I suffered from anal fissure last year and it took a while for it to heal.First off you need to get a stool softener,docusate sodium or Miralax are the best stool softeners to use.Take sitz bath twice a day especially after bm so you can relax your sphincter help promote blood flow so it can heal.Your going to need to go on a high fiber diet and you need to get about 30 grams of fiber per day.
A month later, I was still bleeding when I had a bowel movement. I was prescribed an ointment mixture of Lidocaine and nifedipine to apply to the fissure every day.
I know you aren't supposed to strain to go to the bathroom when you have a fissure, but due to constipation problems I had when i was a kid, i pretty much have to strain every time i go to the bathroom. I'm sort of desensitized to the feeling of having to go to the bathroom.

This doctor explained the whole thing to me. What fishers were, showed me where mine was located and why the spasms, pain and burning was occurring. sounds a lot more like an anal fissure. Not an emergency but basically like a little tear near your anus. Just talk to the dr at your next appt about it. Sometimes they prescribe ointment or miralax to make the stools softer so the fissure has time to heal.
My doctor told me that i have a unhealing anal fissure and that i should take more fiber and drink more water to help with this. THese have been helping a lot however I have a lot of itching. Itching is there 24/7
My doctor tested me for the pinworm exam and nothing was found and is now confused to what the itching it about. So far he has asked me to ignore it and not do anything but this is really killing me. Can you provide suggestions to what i can to do to help me?

I am a 23 year old female who for the last 2 years has had constant gyno problems including VERY excessive discharge(can feel it coming out of me and soaks my underwear- very thick like hair conditioner) and a recurring fissure in the perianal region just above the anus. I have hemorrhoids and an anal fissure. I wore a thong 2 days in a row. By the evening of the second night my perianal and lower vulva area was burning. I have been through a very rough year with hemorrhoids and a anal fissure and diarrhea.
I had a colonoscopy a year ago November and only found a small internal hemorrhoid. Which was great news. But then in March, I was diagnosed with an anal fissure. I tried the nitro route, but it didn't work. So in October, I had a lateral internal sphincterotomy. This healed the fissure and its been three months so far. But I have had two bouts with hemorrhoids since.
About a month later the fissure reappears on a sunday and that monday I go to the derm. The fissure almost looked like a cut and stung a little. The derm was not concerned and he said that if it develops into a blister or dose not improve to come back. Than i was still worried so I went to my normal derm that Wednesday and by then the scabs had fallen off. I do have eczema and use steroid creams on my penis.
