diflucan uti

I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.

Major pain. Went to urgent care diagnosed with a UTI. Dr gave Cipro, diflucan and AZO. After 3 days they called to say my culture results showed Cipro wasn't the correct meds. Micro bid was the new med. I've had lower abdomen pain since off and on. Is it not working? Do I have a major case of yeast? I took another diflucan thinking it could be yeast pain. Weird pain.....

After that the doctor checked me out as fine but gave me diflucan. It worked only a little, and here I am 6 months later, and 4 diflucan pills later, its constantly in my underwear making me feel wet all the time, its so uncomfortable and embarressing, I just want help :((((( please soomeone! I've tried everything from cotton underwear to loose clothing to no sex, I just want to have sex and not be scared that I'm "too wet" and its showing up on his privates or the bed sheets.

So a few days ago I noticed that my vagina was sore and that there was some white (non-smelly) on my underwear. A day later I started to itch all over down there. So I took a Diflucan pill and waited. Well the next day I still had the same symptoms. But now, the left side of my clitoris is super sore and sensitive! I didn't even scratch that area..So i took a mirror and looked at my vagina. It seems like the yeast is only coming out of my urethra..I don't see any at all in my vagina.

Anyway, I have a tingling, itchy, and burning sensation in the vagina at this time. I took a diflucan yeast infection pill and the symptoms still haven’t cleared. No bumps or blisters or anything of that nature. The guy I had unprotected sex with was rubbing his penis in my vulva area which I thought was odd because no man has done that before.

I went to the doctor and got an std screening (cultures only no blood tests) and a general culture for yeast or a UTI. She gave me the 5 day treatment for diflucan because she said to her it looked yeasty inside my vagina. The cultures came back negative for a UTI, bacterial infection, yeast infection, chlamydia and ghonorrea.

I am glad you asked this question. I am 9 yrs out from transplant and every time I have to go on an antibiotic (like for a UTI) I end up getting something else from the antibiotic. Right now, following 10 days of antibiotics for a UTI (Cipro) I have very bad thrush and am now on my 3rd bottle of Nystatin swish and swallow and have seen NO improvement at all. I am going to ask my dr for the mycelex troches when I see him this week. Good Luck to you.

I thought it was a yeast infection so I got prescribed Diflucan but I was still experiencing symptoms so I was prescribed an antifungal cream. The lab results confirmed I have a UTI and didn't find anything with the vaginal swab. I'm confused because I thought UTIs didn't cause itching. The itching is only inside my vaginal canal not on the outside. If I don't have BV or a yeast infection, then why am I itching?

I am male, I received less than a minute of oral sex, 3 weeks later symtpoms of uti.. Sort of. No discharge, only burnt once when I peed, once after I peed. Felt like something was inside my schlong. Got test for chlamidia and Gonoreah , both negative, syphalis and hiv negatory! Finally went to actual doctor. Gave me antibiotic for urethritis. Didn't help. Still having irritation in penis. But not when I pee... Also he said my urine was clear ... Meaning no nitrites or blood...

ask for DIFLUCAN while on an antibiotic as it will help prevent the yeast issue-hence no UTI....it happened to me all the time, I now get the DIFLUCAN and have not had an issue since. It sounds like u have a yeast issue...many meds feed it, so do ask ur dr about this and always ask for DIFLUCAN while getting a rx for an antibiotic.

I have a yeast infection from taking Suprax for a UTI. Doctor gave me 2 doses of diflucan to be taken 3 days apart. I took the 2nd pill tonight. The discomfort was still bad so they had me add Monistat and Vagisil on day 2 after my first pill. The Monistat made me sting so badly and itch even more, that I used Vagisil extra strength 20% benzocaine probably 7 times (small amounts less than 1 inch) today. (Is that dangerous?) The itching has kept me awake all night.

Every time I go to the doctor they tell me the same thing that its a uti im scared something else is wrong though I took the medicine they give me but it hasnt gone away and its gotten worse any advice?

In late June I was diagnosed with my first yeast infection. I took monistat and diflucan and the infection went away quickly. A couple weeks later I got a UTI. A few days after finishing the antibiotics I began to have the same symptoms as the yeast infection and took diflucan and monistat again. We are both STD free, and I just had a check up for STD's a week ago. So, I know it's nothing like that, but could it be something as simple as a yeast infection? Or UTI? Said it seems to be a yeast infection with a possible UTI. They gave me Diflucan one day pill and Ciprofloxacin to take for 10 days. I have 5 days left on the meds. I feel that it's made it feel better but I still have a bit of itching, burning and irritation right around the vulva. I went today for a full STD panel and will get the results soon, but I am freaking out. Also my body is itchy, is this from the Ciprofloxacin ? I just want some answers....arrgghh.

I have also had problems with yeast infections, dating back 5 months now- which is hard to deal with as antibiotics are prescribed to help with the UTI, but flare my yeast infections. I have had a second opinion on what is best for my overall health, but neither of the doctors I have seen are particullary concerned with what may be the underlaying problem. I am very concerned because of the further health problems diabetics can develop. Any advice or information is greatly appreciated.

Hi and congrats on your baby! That's exciting!! You are probably close to being able to find out the sex! Anyway, is "live" supposed to be "lube"? So, it could be a yeast infection. I, for some reason, got those a little easier when pregnant. The ph of the vagina may be a little different or something. Not really sure why but yeast infections when pregnant aren't uncommon.

Day three and already so itchy and painful its ridiculous. Took 150 mg of diflucan yesterday morning...still no relief...how long does it take to work?!?

I went back to the doctor, he gave me diflucan, She also got diflucan. After three days on the diflucan, her symptoms were gone and mine were 90% gone. I then began to apply a diluted vinegar solution. The symptoms were gone for a few days, including the redness, but then they came back. Not as bad as before, but still there. At that point he screened for claymidia and gonnorea, and gave me the zpac. I continued diflucan and vinegar, with the sympmtoms almost, but not quite, vanishing again.

Either an UTI or a yeast infection. Tell your dr what's happening and he or she will prescribed you something. That was happening to me but no yellow discharge and I went to my OBGYN yesterday and she prescribed me something.

Hi, so I've had an on going problem for almost a week now. Every time I pee it burns terribly, especially towards when I am finishing peeing. This wouldn't be so bad but afterwards for hours my vagina feels uncomfortable, not itchy but almost like full or something. My pee has also been very very cloudy. I read that this could perhaps be a UTI? I've been drinking a lot of cranberry juice as I heard this helps.

So, I took antibiotics for a UTI that was beginning. I haven't had sex or anything and started feeling itching, cottage cheese discharge was seen and it was burning down there. So I went and got Diflucan (actually the generic) prescribed from Urgent Care. It's been a day since I took the medication and just today I was wiping and saw light pink on my toilet paper.
