Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help.....
I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps.
As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.
I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

I tried to rub them out, but they got more irritated and more reddish. I went to another doctor who prescribed one dose of diflucan and Lamisil. Diflucan 150 mg seem to take all the irritation out, but left the skin very chapped and scaley. After a couple of days, the redness came back and now I have this reddish irritation also under the tip of the penis. So another doctor prescribed diflucan 100 mg for 7 days + Lotrisone, which is apparently a combination of two medicines.
Therapeutic doses tend to hit things harder and that is the one day verses longer courses of lower dose medicine. But it takes two days to work (with any of them). I used the one day and on day three was getting back to normal. I do also use probiotic yogurt.
But honestly, diflucan was fantastic and easy. So if your doctor will prescribe that, it works great.
Thanks Paxiled. The pharmacist actually said all ithe combo of diflucan & xanax would do was increase the effect of xanax, Its a one dose pill & to be honest I didnt feel anymore sleepy from taking both.
I do get frequent ear infections & sometimes 10 days of antibiotics do not rid it. I am not even sure its totally gone right now. Still feel pressure in my ears & a lil dizzy at times. But with the dizziness that could eb anxiety too. Sometimes its hard to tell.
The monistat may not be strong enough for you. You may have to go to a Gyn and get diflucan and kill the yeast infection. It stays in your system for seven days and you'll be sure to get rid of the yeast. Symptoms usually go away within the 24 hrs after taking the antibiotic pill. Its a 1 dose.
question ladies...i took my diflucan pill on monday, but i wanted to know is a white discharge a side effect of the pill? i have taking diflucan multiple times before, but i never bothered those times to actually look and see what was going on down there. this time i did and it seems like a white discharge is coming out...someone told me that was the yeast mixing w/the medicine coming out. is that true?
Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool.

Absolutely do not use a tampon. That's the worst thing you can do. The Diflucan is actually a pregnancy category C which means risk can't be ruled out. But one dose isn't expected to have any harmful effects.

The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of of Amoxicillin (500 mg) every 12 hours but its supposed to be two pills (1g) every 12 hours, and I already finished the cycle. Now I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, how long should I wait before I take another H. Pylori test?, how long would it be before I can repeat this treatment if I still have the bacteria?
So I've got a long one here.. Starting in December I got back together with my boyfriend whom I hadn't been with in about 2 months. We got back together and I experienced my first yeast infection. I used monistat and the symptoms went away, and waited a week to have sex. The sex was slightly painful and had a little amount of spotting afterwards.
