1472764 tn?1287588186 Because the birth defects were distinctive and similar in these cases, it is assumed that the medication probably caused the defects. However, statistics generally do indicate that short-term use (such as the single dose used to treat vaginal yeast infections) does not seem to cause such problems.
Avatar f tn Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn So yesterday I took one dose of diflucan which is an antibiotic when I looked up the interactions it said it has a major reaction with xanax... its been over 12 hours since I took the diflucan... does anyone know if I can start taking my xanax now.
Avatar f tn So I've got a long one here.. Starting in December I got back together with my boyfriend whom I hadn't been with in about 2 months. We got back together and I experienced my first yeast infection. I used monistat and the symptoms went away, and waited a week to have sex. The sex was slightly painful and had a little amount of spotting afterwards. Well, the yeast infection came back right away...
Avatar f tn Treatment involves getting an over the counter anti fungal from the pharmacy. You can use a cream or pessary ie clotrimazole (Canesten) or take a single dose tablet ie fluconazole (Diflucan). At the same time you might want to take some probiotics to help recolonise the good bacteria in your gut.
Avatar f tn ) my GP prescribed me some cream used to treat yeast infections (thrush) as well as a single dose of an antibiotic that treats fungal infections but so far nothing has changed. I bathed in a salt bath yesterday but that made no difference either I've barely slept at all in 5 nights because this is so bad now, please help!!
Avatar n tn Usually diflucan is prescribed in a single dose. but there have been many occasions that I have had to use it for a week or even a month or so at a time. Also, sometimes it is necessary to use a topical anti-inflammatory like clobetasole to clear up the inflammation the candida had caused. Finally, it is important to re-establish the "good" bacteria--lactobacillus which normally keep the yeast under control by competing with them.
Avatar f tn Single-dose oral medication. Your doctor might prescribe a one-time, single oral dose of fluconazole (Diflucan). To manage more-severe symptoms, you might take two single doses three days apart. See your doctor again if treatment doesn't resolve your symptoms, or if your symptoms return within two months. If your symptoms are severe, or you have frequent yeast infections, your doctor might recommend: Long-course vaginal therapy.

No discomfort when urination. Just same irritation in the same area as before treatment. Can not see a doctor until I am off period. I have already called and will schedule when period is over.... Avatar n tn We have not had sex, and I am worried that it is not cured, plus I have been giving a 150mg dose of Diflucan.
475187 tn?1208154768 ve never had a white discharge with any of my yeast infections but the burning and itching went away with it. Sometimes strong yeast infections need 1 dose of Diflucan followed by another dose in 3 days. Ask your doctor.
Avatar f tn Our DAN doctor prescribed difluacn 200mg daily fro one month to my autistic 8 yeasr old son with candida problems (confirmed by great plains OAT test). How safe is this dose? This discussion is related to What could be causing my Autistic son to have orange stools?.
Avatar f tn If you do have a new bra then it's possible that a seam or a bit of thread or something is what's irritating only one side because the other side is sewn okay. It's also possible that you may have nipple thrush. It can happen just on one side. You'd treat that with either the Diflucan single dose tablet or some antifungal cream on your nipple. It could also be a form of eczema or dermatitis. These can be patchy and can occur in one area only.
Avatar m tn Yeah, the Fluconazole I'm taking is just a generic brand of Diflucan. So taking a single dose of Diflucan usually gets rid of your yeast infection? Lucky, haha. I'm on day 11 right now of taking Diflucan and I can't say its doing anything. I've heard that taking probiotics while taking antibiotics is also good for avoiding yeast infections, especially Acidopholous (which is the bacteria found in yogurt naturally).
Avatar f tn s some yeast in there and showed me the cheesy like substance. She then prescribed me one dose of Diflucan. A week passed and I was still having discharge and a little bit of itchiness so I bought the generic Monistat otc. That seemed to have worked. A month later, I noticed that there was some slight itching in my labia minora and noticed a slight discharge as well. The discharge is your usual thick, lumpy, white discharge. There's no odor or burning, only the discharge and slight itching.
Avatar f tn The monistat may not be strong enough for you. You may have to go to a Gyn and get diflucan and kill the yeast infection. It stays in your system for seven days and you'll be sure to get rid of the yeast. Symptoms usually go away within the 24 hrs after taking the antibiotic pill. Its a 1 dose.
Avatar f tn question ladies...i took my diflucan pill on monday, but i wanted to know is a white discharge a side effect of the pill? i have taking diflucan multiple times before, but i never bothered those times to actually look and see what was going on down there. this time i did and it seems like a white discharge is coming out...someone told me that was the yeast mixing w/the medicine coming out. is that true?
Avatar f tn Yes it's safe after 12 weeks. I am on round 2 of my dose. I am a rare case and I get VERY bad yeast and BV infections which cause bladder retention and usually have to get catherized for a week. I've had a cath 4 times this pregnancy and i'm only 16 weeks! I just took diflucan again yesterday and have another dose I will be taking in 3-5 days if the symptoms are still here. When I'm not pregnant I use oil of oregano orally for yeast.
Avatar n tn I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.
Avatar m tn never been on pumps/inhalers never used inhaled corticosteroids but have used antibiotics almost consistently every time i have a chest infection doctors prescribed antibiotics this time as well as well as a corticosteroid nasal spray which i used for the first time but only once and discontinued as it improved my symptoms with a single dose also fexofenadine and montelukast, unicontin e (a methyl xanthine drug bronchodilator) after the pollen season peaked symptoms usually subside and i am vir
Avatar f tn This is easily treated by an over the counter antifungal from the pharmacy. You can get a single dose tablet (Diflucan) or creams and pessaries ie Canesten/monistat. The tablet takes 2 or 3 days to start working so using a cream in the meantime can really help. You can buy a prepackaged tablet and cream set.
Avatar n tn I tried to rub them out, but they got more irritated and more reddish. I went to another doctor who prescribed one dose of diflucan and Lamisil. Diflucan 150 mg seem to take all the irritation out, but left the skin very chapped and scaley. After a couple of days, the redness came back and now I have this reddish irritation also under the tip of the penis. So another doctor prescribed diflucan 100 mg for 7 days + Lotrisone, which is apparently a combination of two medicines.
Avatar f tn was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
20797525 tn?1510602613 I have had candida for a little over a year now. It all started with strep throat that I required penicillin to combat. Penicillin helped but never fully eliminated the problem. I began to notice a lot of itching underneath my left arm. A few times I would put deodorant on and it would sting to high heaven. Then I noticed that classic yeast smell. I tried all types of treatments with no result, relief or answers.
