When I had the strep b my dr gave me a antibiotic but when I'm on a antibiotic Long periods of time I get yeast infection which then they could give u a diflucan.
You need to cut out as much refined sugar in your diet as you can and immediately get on a course of good quality probiotics. I would highly recommend going to a naturopath to get evaluated. Changing your diet and taking pro-biotics will re-build your digestive system's healthy bacteria. All the diflucan does is kill the bad bacteria (which causes the yeast infections)...but it kills the body's healthy bacteria along with it. You need to rebuild that in your system. It totally works!
m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!
Actually monostat one day has a higher concentration of medicine and while it is more expensive, doctors think it works a bit better. That has been my personal experience as well. Therapeutic doses tend to hit things harder and that is the one day verses longer courses of lower dose medicine. But it takes two days to work (with any of them). I used the one day and on day three was getting back to normal. I do also use probiotic yogurt.
But honestly, diflucan was fantastic and easy.
I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.
BTW, taking antibiotics with a probiotic is helpful to help rid yourself ot the yeast and also reestablish your intestinal "good bacteria" depending on the bacteria you are fighting and the antibiotic and how broadly it works will depend on whether or how fast the probiotic organisms work. An adult should take a probiotic that is 10 billion organsims per colony forming unit (CFU).
I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. It works a little but he said it might take a week and its been six days. I have a couple of questions.

I will have to go back and see if I can find that one. It was really interesting. Seems to be all upside down in the way it works as to the way you would think it did. I alwasys thought when stocks were way up, it was a good thing. I will have to see if I can find it or the link to it so ya all can have a look see.
I had a yeast infection and I use Monistat but forgot to use the last one but the symptoms went away and the odor came back but I started dating someone it's three weeks in and he said he thinks I have Easton faction because his urethra hurts so I got us both diflucan but the older haven't went away so I got a summers eve douche hoping it might help by the way it's going on six days and two prescribed pills of diflucan also random cramping
Two days later we did it again but this time it was hurting and it felt my vagina was tighter, it had been inflamed inside! we did it again 2 days later and it had got worse and was hurting more and then 2 days later we couldnt do it at all because the pain was too much. I went to the doctor (I couldnt go to the doctor earlier because of the freaking christmas and new year, everywhere was closed) and she said that I had got a yeast infection.
