diflucan

Avatar n tn Does birth control cause your vagina to be dry and itchy all the time? I started taking it about a month and a half ago, and I am always dry and itchy. my boyfriend when he touches me, it burns sometimes, and I can't seem to get wet. Is this a side effect from the pill?
Avatar n tn It has been over 2 months of my vagina producing a white thick substance, and it hurts everytime that I have sex or any penetration. I have been on birth control for over a year, and my doctor put me on diflucan and a pH balancer and nothing seems to be clearing up. What do you think it is?
Avatar n tn Some women are more likely to have frequent yeast infections. Like me for example, and I don't take birth control. I take diflucan every month to every two months. LOL just try keeping the area dry, cotton panties are good, no scented soaps or tampons. No scented lotions or liners and maybe changing your birth control would help also. Just remember it could always be worse.
Avatar n tn Was on the birth control nuvaring. Had vaginal fungal infectioon . Took one dose of Diflucan - ended in ER feeling very ill with temp. Given Cipro. Next day, acute swollen, difuse lympadenopathy, fever, joint swelling. Continued Cipro for five days. Extreme fatigue followed, tremor, muscle weakness, perheral neuropathies. Fatigu sever, brfeathing difficult: all PFT normal. Elevagted histamine in urine 3x normal amount. Starting antihistamines and H1 and H2 blockers.
Avatar m tn Also, I stopped taking birth control about a month ago because I thought that maybe that was a contributing factor. Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix me? I feel so worn down from dealing with this all the time. And if it's any help I went to a homeopathic doctor who charged me up the ying-yang and basically did nothing for me. She printed out the Candida Diet and sold me a whole bunch of pills which did nothing.
Avatar f tn I'm 21 years old and an active and healthy female. Up until around 8 months ago at this point I had never had a yeast infection. Then I noticed I was consistently itchy down there. I could not for the life of me figure out why but I ruled out a yeast infection because it wasn't unbearable itching and I had no discharge. Fast forward to now, I have had to cure 3 yeast infections with diflucan so far and they keep coming back. So, I'm starting to think it's my birth control.
Avatar f tn I need some help. I am 20 years old and have been on birth control since October 2008. I have been on the generic of Ortho-tri cyclen- low. I have switched to non generic because the generic lost its patent. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, but he always pulls out and I have never missed a pill. I have always started on Wednesday, and randomly the last two months I have started Thursdays. This month I had a yeast infection and took prescription Diflucan.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have yeast infection on a regular since after using the nuvring as a for of birth control. If I was you I will tell your doctor to give you the two pills so the yeast infection will go completely away. Also I always wait at least a week after my yeast infection have gone away before I have sex. Not sure about you but the produces in the latex condom always cause my vagina to be irritated. I recommend that you all use sensitive condom.
Avatar n tn Also, if you are taking oral contraceptives, that can cause similar symptoms. Sometimes it is necessary to switch birth control methods, depending upon how much the symptoms bother you. One final note, something that is cheap easy and effective to relieve the irritating symptoms is Crisco. Just apply to any irritated areas as needed. It really works! Good luck!
1472764 tn?1287588186 There have been a few reports of multiple, serious birth defects in infants whose mothers took Diflucan in early pregnancy (usually high doses for an extended period of time). Because the birth defects were distinctive and similar in these cases, it is assumed that the medication probably caused the defects. However, statistics generally do indicate that short-term use (such as the single dose used to treat vaginal yeast infections) does not seem to cause such problems.
Avatar f tn Kinda had a similar problem. Found out that the birth control I was on had a side effect of vaginal infection. Gyno checked me for everything like std's and such. I was suffering bad so did my own research on line and then BAM...found my answere. Went off the birth control and symptoms were gone within a week.
Avatar m tn For the past year I've had a yeast infection every month. My doctor has giving me Diflucan and it clears it up a bit but it always comes back. It has ruined my sex life. There is white chunky discharge, uncontrollable itchiness, and it feels irritated down there and it is very red. I don't know what to do. I was on birth control but stopped taking it hoping it would help but nope! I don't know what to do anymore.
Avatar f tn It is quite likely to twist and cause pain. I would also encourage you to consider birth control pills to help with the heavy periods and pain. I'm not too sure what to make of the shoulder pain--it is possible that you have endometriosis. It could be detected and treated at the time of an operation to remove the cyst. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Mind you, I AM on birth control, and had been previously taking antibiotics for an ear infection. So, I was thinking I had the YI from the antibiotics. But, the bacterial infection, I had a LOT of discharge and there was an odor. The second time I went, I had a test, and she said I def had a yeast infection, and she was concerned because there were a lot of white blood cells. She put me on Diflucan, and I took both doses and STILL had the YI.
Avatar f tn For about a year now I've been having a pasty white discharge that sometimes can smell weird. I haven't had pains or spotting and I'm on birth control. My periods are regular and I always have protected sex. Is that normal??
Avatar f tn Could it be a reaction to a birth control you are using?
Avatar f tn I have a dark SMELLY discharge that makes my clothes smell horrible, what could it be? For a while now I have been having this horrible brownish discharge and I don't know what it is from. It doesn't matter how many times I wash my body its always there. Its not my period because I have been having them since i was 13 and I'm 17, and since last December I have been on the birth control shot.
Avatar n tn I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.
Avatar f tn I went to the doc, and she said I had a bacterial infection, and gave me antibiotics. Mind you, I AM on birth control, and had been previously taking antibiotics for an ear infection. So, I was thinking I had the YI from the antibiotics. But, the bacterial infection, I had a LOT of discharge and there was an odor. Avatar m tn I am very concerned and wondering if baby will have birth defects now. Has anyone taken diflucan in the beginning weeks of pregnancy or 4 weeks and under?
Avatar n tn Chances are your problem has nothing to do with hiv at all but with your diet. Have you taken any antibiotics, steroids, or birth control recently? Because these can all add to a yeast problem. Most people do have a candida problem, even if they are not aware. It is caused by the diet we have all been used to practically from birth, processed foods overloaded with sugar. Candida issues can cause many strange symptoms that most people won't notice as being related to yeast.
Avatar m tn To sum it up: I've got some weird stuff going on in my nether region. On or around February 11th 2011, I started feeling a weird tingle-burn down there. I can't tell if it is coming from my vulva, or from inside of my vagina or what. I only call it "burning" because I can't think of a better word to describe it.
Avatar f tn I got my first yeast infection July 11,2015 and i've kept having on ever since. In the first months, the burning was there the whole time and after that I could use yeast infection medicine to help banish the symptoms, but they always come back. Sometimes I'll go to the doctor and there will only be a little yeast, sometimes it will be Bv and Yeast( no very freq.).
Avatar n tn In higher doses there is a link between diflucan and birth defects. There are other treatments for yeast infections, and your doctor can help to direct you to one that would be safe for you and the baby.
Avatar n tn I'll try and make this as specific as possible. I had my first ever yeast infection November 2017 right after my period. It was itchy as all hell and when I looked inside it was completely white like I've never seen before. I talked to a few friends and they all said take a Monistat and it'll be gone in a week. WRONG. The monistat (1-day) burned my vulva! I was on fire and swollen and when I saw everyone else had those side effects I went to urgent care and got a diflucan.
