diflucan

Avatar n tn Does birth control cause your vagina to be dry and itchy all the time? I started taking it about a month and a half ago, and I am always dry and itchy. my boyfriend when he touches me, it burns sometimes, and I can't seem to get wet. Is this a side effect from the pill?
Avatar n tn It has been over 2 months of my vagina producing a white thick substance, and it hurts everytime that I have sex or any penetration. I have been on birth control for over a year, and my doctor put me on diflucan and a pH balancer and nothing seems to be clearing up. What do you think it is?
Avatar n tn Some women are more likely to have frequent yeast infections. Like me for example, and I don't take birth control. I take diflucan every month to every two months. LOL just try keeping the area dry, cotton panties are good, no scented soaps or tampons. No scented lotions or liners and maybe changing your birth control would help also. Just remember it could always be worse.
Avatar n tn Possible Mast cell activation disorder? Why woulod immune response continue and I keep feeling worse, aftger Cipro and Diflucan and Nuva ring were discontinued? How is this treated???? I am so exhuasted I cannot function. ALl bloods normal except histamine in urine and malabsorption, ie, Vit B-12, D, anemia. Is IViG indicated? Avatar m tn ve had chronic yeast infections (4-6 a year) for about 3 years now. 2 years ago my doctor prescribed Diflucan and it worked well for a while (cleared up the infection right away). About 8 months ago the Diflucan stopped being as effective, and I would have to take one 150mg pill then followed by another 150mg pill 3 days later. For the past 6 months I've had a yeast infection that has not really gone away. I have relief for a couple days to a week max and then the symptoms returned.
Avatar f tn I need some help. I am 20 years old and have been on birth control since October 2008. I have been on the generic of Ortho-tri cyclen- low. I have switched to non generic because the generic lost its patent. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex, but he always pulls out and I have never missed a pill. I have always started on Wednesday, and randomly the last two months I have started Thursdays. This month I had a yeast infection and took prescription Diflucan.
Avatar f tn I'm 21 years old and an active and healthy female. Up until around 8 months ago at this point I had never had a yeast infection. Then I noticed I was consistently itchy down there. I could not for the life of me figure out why but I ruled out a yeast infection because it wasn't unbearable itching and I had no discharge. Fast forward to now, I have had to cure 3 yeast infections with diflucan so far and they keep coming back. So, I'm starting to think it's my birth control.
Avatar f tn before she had always given me the diflucan pill and it went away right away. however, this time she gave me the cream and i used it for the 7days like she said and didnt have sex w my bf at all. after the 7th day of using the terconazole cream my bf and i had sex w a condom. the next few days it felt a lil irritated, but i thought it was maybe due to the sex. i then noticed a slight discharge, but thought nothing of it cus it looked like normal discharge...so i thought.
Avatar n tn Also, if you are taking oral contraceptives, that can cause similar symptoms. Sometimes it is necessary to switch birth control methods, depending upon how much the symptoms bother you. One final note, something that is cheap easy and effective to relieve the irritating symptoms is Crisco. Just apply to any irritated areas as needed. It really works! Good luck!
1472764 tn?1287588186 I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?
Avatar n tn It has been gone for 13 days, and in that time I have also gotten my period. I should note that I also started birth control (tri-sprintec) 15 days ago. Yesterday I noticed very small reddish, shiny bumps on my vulva (the same area where the yeast infection got really bad), and also on the same side as that, but closer to my butt cheek. They are kind of all clustered together. The bumps do not hurt, but are only a little dry and itchy.
Avatar f tn I was suffering bad so did my own research on line and then BAM...found my answere. Went off the birth control and symptoms were gone within a week.
Avatar m tn My doctor has giving me Diflucan and it clears it up a bit but it always comes back. It has ruined my sex life. There is white chunky discharge, uncontrollable itchiness, and it feels irritated down there and it is very red. I don't know what to do. I was on birth control but stopped taking it hoping it would help but nope! I don't know what to do anymore.
Avatar f tn t know what to do. But I started taking the birth control pill loestrin and I think it maybe an allergic reaction to that any advice??
Avatar f tn It is quite likely to twist and cause pain. I would also encourage you to consider birth control pills to help with the heavy periods and pain. I'm not too sure what to make of the shoulder pain--it is possible that you have endometriosis. It could be detected and treated at the time of an operation to remove the cyst. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Mind you, I AM on birth control, and had been previously taking antibiotics for an ear infection. So, I was thinking I had the YI from the antibiotics. But, the bacterial infection, I had a LOT of discharge and there was an odor. The second time I went, I had a test, and she said I def had a yeast infection, and she was concerned because there were a lot of white blood cells. She put me on Diflucan, and I took both doses and STILL had the YI.
Avatar n tn So I was a little skeptical because I feel like she just names off common diseases instead of listening to me. I do not take immunosuppressants and I was on birth control (First time ever) but only for three months and then I stopped when my husband was deployed. I was on an tetracycline for about 5 months for acne but I stopped taking that in March when all of these problems were occurring and I read that long-term antibiotic care can cause yeast infections.
Avatar f tn For about a year now I've been having a pasty white discharge that sometimes can smell weird. I haven't had pains or spotting and I'm on birth control. My periods are regular and I always have protected sex. Is that normal??
Avatar f tn I have a dark SMELLY discharge that makes my clothes smell horrible, what could it be? For a while now I have been having this horrible brownish discharge and I don't know what it is from. It doesn't matter how many times I wash my body its always there. Its not my period because I have been having them since i was 13 and I'm 17, and since last December I have been on the birth control shot.
Avatar f tn Dr already tested me for BV and yeast - both were negative but I was still put on a round of diflucan and boric acid - neither of which did anything. I sometimes have to wear a lite tampon and always wear pantiliners (sometimes multiple) b/c it is so heavy. My period ended 2 days ago and today it is heavier than ever. What can it be? Is there anything to limit it?
Avatar n tn The bleeding was light for the first week and very heavy for the last two weeks. I went to see an OBGYN and she took a simple and blood work...I have very painful and tender womb now still bleeding and awaiting the lab results. Please any advice is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn s a viscious circle of yeast, treat it and then get bv and treat it and then get yeast and so on and so on. it can be very annoying for us gals :( I'm a fan of femdophilus by jarrow myself. google it. you can even send for a free sample on their website. It's a probiotic that helps replace the 'good' bacteria in our urogenital tracts so that we can prevent vaginitis and stop the circle of treatment that sometimes occurs.
Avatar n tn I currently have a yeast infection I was diagnosed with about a month and a half ago, I have tried over the counter treatments and prescribed diflucan and the infection persists. I am unable to find any relief, I have subsequently tried home remedies as well to find a cure and no such luck. I am very scared as many of the articles I have read said that persistant yeast infection can be the first sign to diagnosing HIV.
Avatar n tn I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??
