Common Questions and Answers about Differin vs proactive

differin

Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar f tn What are the signs for a catscan? My ear hurts and what clues should doctors use to do a catscan vs sending a patient home on ear infection medicine? thanks.
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar f tn I know that you have been very concerned regarding the pathology report you received following your lumpectomy and how difficult it can be to make proactive decisions regarding your health care, especially when there is the possibility of cancer. I think you can be reassured that if a DCIS was indeed present it would not have been diagnosed as ADH. The cells of the tissue are examined very closely under the microscope at significant magnification so that a definitive diagnosis is made.
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn I am looking for info about what the nodularities mean and the likleyhood that they denote the tumor being cancer vs begnin. Thanks for any website or article referrals.
Avatar f tn The best topical lotion in my opinion is Differin. It can be as effective as topical Isotretinoin but is usually much better tolerated, with little or no redness and peeling. It is even more effective when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics. I have taken Accutane twice (20% of patients require a second course) with good results, please see my photos in my profile. I am happy to discuss any concerns you have about this drug. Eloise.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar m tn I was very proactive about it with my nurses and I had them page my MD to make sure I go home with Rx for nausea. Also my MD prescribe Nusinta instead of persocete (this drug cause less constipation) but still I was very proactive with my bowels. I took stool soften at PM after my surgery and had some prunes.
Avatar f tn Hey there! Sorry it sounds like you're soon to have official admission to the club, but props for being proactive about your treatment. It sounds like you've narrowed it down to two, but also know that if the CRABs injections don't seem to fit what you want, there are also many other options out there today including oral medications. The injections have been on the market far longer, though, so many people do prioritise their much longer safety data.
Avatar n tn I have been a suspect for the past several years (4-5). My pressures have gone from 17-18 (4-5 years ago) to 26 & 28 this past year. A few months ago my pressures were 32 & 28. Then a few weeks ago the pressures were back down a bit to 27 & 25. Visual field testing has been normal. Optic nerve analysis has been ok. cup/disc ratios seem ok. My doc (MD and galucoma specialist) has been taking a wait and see approach although the pressure reading of 32 set off an alarm with him.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
