Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
My skin did feel the same though and not thicker. Sun made it worse. I used Renova at that time and it helped a lot. So expensive though. I haven't had a script for it in many years but think about it often as I've got some pigmenting going on again. It's in less conspicuous places and saw a dermatologist about it who was not concerned. I didn't get the script to renova as I got nervous and forgot to ask for it. sigh.

Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun.
I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale.The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually.Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away.Please help.
i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production,which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
use Renova at night and sulfa lotion in day for face bumps and no more bumps on scalp...or very few. I use a cortisone shampoo which has stopped the itching.
Be glad your hair grows back. The only way to really find out what is going on is to see a dermatologist. Good luck.
I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly.
When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
The best topical lotion in my opinion is Differin. It can be as effective as topical Isotretinoin but is usually much better tolerated, with little or no redness and peeling.
It is even more effective when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics.
I have taken Accutane twice (20% of patients require a second course) with good results, please see my photos in my profile. I am happy to discuss any concerns you have about this drug.

Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
I used Renova on my face and got some severe side effects: blistering, scaling redness, itching. I am concerned that the redness may never go away, as I've read that sometimes happens. I have been diagnosed with eczema recently, so I now know I shouldn't be using the stuff at all. It was an old tube of cream. My face is still tingly, scaley, and very red. I've also read that you can become permanently sensitive to the sun. What's going to happen to me? I look like a burn victim.
I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Two years ago, the prescribing doctor had me using Renova .02% daily on fair skin for several months. When my skin felt tight (I had no clue this meant I was dehydrated but I didn't like the way it felt) I reduced my use down to 3 days a week for 6 months and then to 2 days for several months, finally down to 1 day a week. My skin looked great, until about 6 months ago when it started getting lots of crepey lines. My esthetician said this was caused by the dehydration.
The only other thing that I have done differently from my normal routine is that I began to use Differin Gel 3% on my face only which is why I never thought of it as being the cause of this strange neck rash, but a friend at work said that I should look into this so here I am. Is this possible? I have heard that Differin can be a bit systemic for some.
So I thought maybe they were just a patch or dry skin, or skin a rubbed a bit raw when rubbing my eyes at night or something, so I tried applying Differin cream to it with no result. It is not spreading, but it is not going away either. Some have said it's just a mark I got from being overstressed, but i think that really means they have no idea...haha...help?
It will leave broken veins on face as you age. It is a very frustrating disorder. I am using Renova and a sulfa lotion as antibiotics are not an option. And this combo is working.
I did go through a course of IPL treatments: great results, but the condition came back within a year, so I can't afford that type of remedy.
Rosacea is an inherited condition, and altho' it is depressing to have and hard to control, a good dermatologist is your best ally.
have you tried differin its a topical medicine, but its the only thing that did work for me. the doctor perscribed it for me.. and it really works.. the eating healthy thing doesnt work. im really active and eat healthy, but i sweat pretty bad and i get pimples anyways. the natural sometimes wont work. you can also go to walmart and get the face wash called seabreeze. i think thats how its spelled but its the best kind of acne medicine and its the most natural.
